Disappointing experience.

We’ve done lots of food tours and they usually involve several groups of friends or couples so we were surprised that it was just us on the tour. Part of the fun of the tours is meeting other people and talking about the food you are trying. The food was pleasant enough but we expected 4 or 5 stops to sample ‘bites’. What we got was 3 food stops, the second of which was at a cake shop that was closing and the third was a full meal which we had not expected and could not finish. Very disappointing.

It is difficult to block a good restaurant the evening only for a crêpe or cheese plate. The morning option was better for you. But you never replied to our questionnaire. I hope you could finish your beef in your hotel room. Normally we do not make doggy bags.

Francois was such a knowledgeable, warm, and friendly guide. I was fortunate to be the only person on the tour and it soon felt like being shown around by a dear friend. His food choices were outstanding. Finished the tour full and satisfied. Then he made sure I got on the correct bus. One of my best Paris experiences. Highly recommend.

Francois guided us on a Sunday and manoeuvred us around the later opening hours. He was also accommodating and flexible with the tour time. His selection of foods and places were all great. My teenagers loved the sweets and pastries. We also learned about olive oil and had a fab lunch with cheesy mash, followed by the best choc mousse. We went back the next day!

What a wonderful experience! Francois was the BEST host and we had a wonderful time! The cheeses, the wine, the escargot and fois gras, and macarons were all perfection! Francois was so sweet and kind and we absolutely loved him! Highly recommend this tour!

I booked this very last minute, and thought from the price that it would be something special. Unfortunately, I think the price was because I was the only one on the tour! The guide was nice and took me to some great places with yummy food, but it was very awkward with just the two of us, and he wasn't eating any of the food. In the end, I couldn't eat half of what was put in front of me, which was a real waste as it was all very tasty. Perhaps the price goes down the more people you book in, but I would not recommend this tour unless you have a bunch of people and you're not paying as much as I did!

We agree that you did your reservation at midnight for the following morning. It was a bit too much for one person. The best beef stew of Paris (bœuf bourguignon), a full plate of cheese from the Bistrot d'Henri facing Castel with Gérard Mulot baguette tradition, Camembert Réo noir, Saint-Nectaire and Comté 18 months, a glass of Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, the best crepe of Paris with the best artisanal cider and two more stops: The Wine cellar of Saint-Germain-des-Prés covered market with the Saint-Marcellin cheese from the Lyon most famous cheese shop la Mère Richard and a glass of white wine from Valençay, Loire valley, the trendy place of the inventor of the 'Bistronomy' in Paris Yves Camdeborde, former Crillon and Ritz chef with a glass of red wine and scallop in Brittany butter sauce for a special pairing plus the original macaron from Persia made from rice with saffron as a final gift to finish our walk next to Notre-Dame. We do the best, we give the best even if it seems too much. We wanted you to have the excellence, not something average even for a last-minute booking during the night. Best food tour ever

Francois provided an excellent adventure into the French cuisine and culture. He was very down to earth, personable and the “real deal”. His passion for the food and culture really showed. We had a very stressful travel day and were late to our tour but he worked with us and still provided us with an excellent experience. We wanted to see what the local food and people were like and he showed us this and more. I recommend this tour with Francois wholeheartedly and without reservations.
