Design your own personal perfume, or ‘parfum’ as the French call it, during this workshop in Paris. What To Expect

During this workshop in Paris with six to eight participants, take joy in custom-designing your own perfume. Learn from a master perfumer, who teaches you concepts such as ‘family of note,’ ‘family of perfumes,’ and ‘tenacity’ of the different products (top, heart, and bottom notes), using methods created by Marina Jung.

The perfumer will ask you questions to help guide you in the next phase of the workshop: scent creation. With about 50 different compositions available to play with, get to work on producing three perfumes, on your own or with assistance.

Choose one of your personally designed scents and take it home in a provided 50-ml bottle, an alluring scent that cannot be purchased in a store.

A highlight of our trip to Paris was making perfume!

We loved our experience making perfume. Our instructor was very knowledgeable and encouraging and taught us how to blend scents and how some scents last longer than other scents. She took us through an iterative process to build a perfume that was unique to us. We created 3 unique perfume "recipes" by combining scents that we selected in different proportions. She helped us determine what we liked about our sample scents and how we might alter them to tease out aspects that we most appreciated. In the end, we selected among our three sample sets the one we wanted to make into a larger bottle of perfume and she mixed it for us right on sight. We were even able to select the bottle color. We love our scents and every time we wear them we remember the wonderful time we had selecting and making them. I was a wonderful and personal experience. I did it with my adult daughter and we were both thrilled. One of the highlights of our trip to Paris! Marina made the experience very interesting and also magical. You will definitely enjoy this experience.

This was truly one of the highlights of our trip to Paris last week. There were four of us -- two women with our teenage daughters -- who did this workshop along with 2 other women. The setting itself was intimate as it was set in the living room of an apartment. Our instructor was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. What seemed a bit daunting at first quickly gave way to a relaxed, enjoyable, and exciting experience. We loved that the workshop ended with us all walking away with our signature scents. My daughter loves hers so much that she has worn her fragrance every day since. I've worn mine quite a few times as well. What a truly special experience. I would highly recommend this for anyone looking to do something a little different in Paris.

After reading all of the positive reviews my sisters and I were so excited to do the perfume making class. Upon entering the woman’s home there were three tables set up with all the supplies one may need to make their own perfume. The teacher handed us a chart of different scent groups. We were able to create three mini bottles and then she created the larger bottle of one of our samples of our choosing. The instructor had too a full class and was constantly running around and/or answering the phone. When asking for suggestions she did not really offer any assistance. We felt like she thought it was a nuisance to have us in her house (eye rolls or raised eyebrows) especially after asking to use the restroom and another family asking for some water. Didn’t really learn anything about the history of perfume. Would not recommend. And would do this as a DIY at home or go somewhere else for a more informed/hands-on approach.

This was a great experience overall!! Marina, the activity leader was great at explaining the basics but please come with some readiness to just explore and use your gut instincts at making a personal scent! Keep it fun and it will be! My only small suggestion is that it would have been helpful to have some instructions on waiting at the door if the address bc it’s basically a residential building and we didn’t know if we were suppose to wait or ring one of the apartments, etc.

I very much enjoyed listening to the instructor about how different scents have different tones. Although there were about 12 people in the class, the instructor was able to give individual attention to us all when we started making our own perfume/cologne. We all had ample supplies. You get to bring home your creation and the instructor makes a larger bottle for you. If you like perfume, I recommend you taking the class
