What To Expect

When booking, select the option that corresponds to your pickup location: a meeting spot in Perth, central Perth hotels, or Rockingham. If departing Perth, your tour starts with the coach drive to Rockingham, where you hop aboard your custom-built ‘dolphin swim’ boat that features a large platform for easy access in and out of the water.

Set off from the shore with the boat crew, who locates a pod of dolphins while you put on your provided wetsuit, snorkel, and mask. Then jump in the water and marvel at the dolphins who quickly surround you, ready to swim with you and show off their playful antics. While swim-with-dolphin opportunities can be found at many beach resorts in Australia and around the world, this tour provides a superior experience due to the staff, who has built a rapport with these beloved marine mammals. It’ll be the highlight of your time in Perth.

When you get out of the water, refuel with provided refreshments on the boat before returning to Rockingham, where your tour ends with the drive back to Perth.

Even the ad stated that good weather was required, and that a change of date or refund would be offered if it was cancelled due to poor weather. This didnt happen so rather than not go and waste our money, we decided to go but stay on the boat since it was freezing cold, windy and rainy, and we didnt want the rest of our holiday in Australia to be spent in bed with a cold. This turned out to be better than getting in the water, because others who actually got in said we would have had the better view since it was too dark to see the dolphins underwater. The guides insisted that the experience wouldnt be affected by weather because "dolphins don't care about rain", but after doing plenty of research, we've confirmed this to be untrue, as dolphins will often swim deeper in colder temps or when there is rain. Overall it was cool seeing the dolphins, but it was definitely not worth the $250+ per person and we've been left pretty disappointed, as well as others that we spoke to after we got back to shore since they only spent a total of maybe 5 or 6 minutes in the water with all the switching out of different groups of people.

The crew were great and had lots of interesting information to share. It took a while to find the dolphins but it was worth the wait. Lunch was good but the tour description said seafood platter, which we didn't get. Overall a wonderful and special experience for me and my 9 year old.

A hugely overrated experience and not a patch on the other swim with wildlife experiences I've done. You don't actually swim with the dolphins you simply get in the water and see them for a total of about 10 seconds throughout the day

Worthwhile experience but don't hold back from jumping in

I really enjoyed the day which was generally well organised with a friendly and enthusiastic young crew. We were divided into small groups to jump off the boat to see the dolphins. However I did not always feel that there was a fair allocation between the different groups being taken out. For example the "black" group got taken out twice in a row. Also it would have been good to have been warned that the last swim was or might be the last one. I felt a bit short changed when it all ended suddenly. I was ready for one more swim. At USD200 this is an expensive tour and I thought this aspect could have been handled a bit better. I would go again but would be a bit more pushy and assertive about getting in the water and pay less attention to which group was being called.

Staff were helpful and organised Experience was good Disappointing as the lunch was sandwich not advertised seafood platters and the trip was to be 6 hours which I expected to be from when we got on boat to end For the cost I thought we could have tried to swim after lunch again with dolphins

I understand your disappointment regarding the seafood platters as our website mentions "Gourmet platters including local fresh Seafood", which could come across as seafood platters, our apologies for the confusion. This tour can run anywhere from 3 to 6 hours, which is outlined online and explained by our crew on board - the finish time will depend on how quickly you find the dolphins. If your tour concluded on the 3 hour mark it means you were very lucky to not have spent much time searching for dolphins and could get swimming with them straight away! We hope you still had a great time swimming in the water with our beautiful local wild dolphins, and enjoyed the experience and crew.

Great tour but not recommend 'Spectator tour'

We had accidentally booked 'Spectator Tour', but on the booking confirmation saying that "WHAT'S INCLUDED" was..., - Swim with Wild Dolphins - Use of Snorkelling equipment - Professional guide We have thought that we still could somehow swim with Wild Dolphins on that day, but actually wasn't of course. The information that provider used for customer who book 'Spectator Tour' was obviously wrong and not acceptable for this discrepancy. The tour crews were so busy for looking for dolphins therefore no care for other customers who were only spectating. That was so disappointing, so I would recommend not to book 'spectator tour'. However, if you do book a tour for "Swim with Dolphins", I think it will be a great experience you might have.
