Great day - it was sunny day in September - beautiful crystal clear water soft sand. Covid shut down helped the coral and islands recover from over tourism. it's in prestin shape, but that might not last long once tourism opens up in full force.

We traveled as a big family with one 4 year old child and a 5 month old baby. Boat staff was tremendously supportive, even taking care of our child during snorkeling time. The staff really work hard to make everyone comfortable. Soft drinks, fruits and snacks are served onboard during long legs. A very welcomed service, specially when you have impatient children. Definitely recommended for families, specially those with small child.

Tour guide and boat staff were great and worked hard to deliver the service. Kudos to them. It was great to see the Phi Phi island and Maya bay. However the way these speed boat tours are laid out (and that is probably true for most phi phi speed boat tours), it is not the experience I would like to have while visiting these amazing islands. As many have noted, these tours are crowded and packed (30-35 people on a 12-14 meter boat). There are very few (2 on our boat) elevated front facing seats with a decent view, all other passengers either sit inside or in front of the boat where you cannot see anything except faces of fellow travelers while sitting. So you miss the amazing views when approaching islands. Also the first stop in Pi Lay Lagon is very short (we got 25 minutes). This is probably the best place for swimming in the whole tour (turquoise water surrounded by tall green hills) . We were told that the stop is short because of low tide but I don't believe it because more boats for constantly coming in while other were going out. The second stop for snorkeling (30 minutes) was pretty open and exposed (not a bay) so it was choppy. Maya bay stop is same for everyone, no swimming but beautiful beach so that is fine. There were 2 more stops at beaches where swimming/snorkeling options were average. Specially the last stop was purely commercial (I think it was Khai Nai island) with a very crowded and average beach but lots of shops selling stuff, absolutely not worth a stop. The catch here is that most speed boat tours are same (there were plenty of boats from different companies following the same itinerary along with us) with similar crowded and closed boats. There are few other options (large boat, long boat or private boat) generally selling at higher prices and I don't know what they offer. So probably this tour is what most travelers wanting to go to Phi Phi islands can get.

The tour description that was advertised didn’t match with the actual tour. We were not allowed to to go monkey beach or maya beach. You do not get what you pay for.

I have no words but beautiful. I have been to 27+ countries and counting and so far Phi Phi Island was one of the best. Beautiful water, clean and just amazing. Swimming with the fish was so fun, the best experience ever. Strongly recommend snorkelling with the fish. 🥵🥵🥵

The speed boat experience is worderful - not for people with disabilities and seasickness though ! Plenty of time to do sea swimming and snorkeling as well ! The whole experience is run at an industrial scale - by Crystal Sea Marine :- we had 13 or 14 boats with 25 people each Our guide - BIRD - was funny and very informative and gave us plenty of water and sugar free coke - the food at Phi Phi island was nice as well ! Highly recommended - a must for your Phuket tour 🇹🇭🇹🇭

Best holiday trip - views to die for

Myself, Husband and two older children had an amazing day (one of the best holiday trips ever). Well organised, team were brilliant (they couldn’t do enough for you with drinks fresh fruit and cakes available FOC on the boat), lunch was on Phi Phi island and was lovely. The views and scenery throughout the day are to die for. Just the right amount of time at each stop and plenty of time to chill too.

Boat was a little jam packed so mot much room too move, bit choppy at sea so take a motion sickness tablet before hand. The buffet lunch wasn't the best, very little variety. Overall, lots of fun, waters are beautiful for swimming/snorkelling. The crew were great, Natalie was a lovely tour guide.

Worth it, but needs better food and smaller numbers

Pros: Beautiful scenery! Such gorgeous water, amazing views- totally worth $60. Hotel pick-up was on time, the staff were kind and knowledgeable, they kept snacks and beverages on board, they maintained the schedule they set, and did a good job establishing expectations ahead of time (travel time between stops, some stops are view-only, they can’t guarantee the quality of the snorkeling or the number of monkeys, etc). Cons: Too many passengers aboard meant that several people were obligated to sit outside the entire time. It was frustrating that the staff never specified if seats were the same all day, so we had people who wanted to sit out front for short bursts when it was pretty and calm, but wouldn’t make space for us inside for the majority of the day when it was choppy, windy, and hot. The tour company would be kind to book as many people as can sit inside and allow the outdoor space to be an optional enjoyment. We came home incredibly sunburned. Also, the food provided for lunch was terrible. One option was tomato sauce and noodles, the other was spicy green curry. There was hot water and cold water available, as well as some watermelon. I wish they had told us ahead of time that the island had other eating options- we could have bypassed the cafeteria experience and had something decent nearby. Finally, several people smoked at every stop the boat came to. They would come up front to do it, but that’s where we had to sit and instead of enjoying the scenery, we had a dozen people smoking and flicking their ashes in the water (the staff did try to have them keep their ashes in a water bottle). I understand that the acceptability/unacceptability of smoking is very culturally relative, but it was a frustrating addition to such pristine environments.

Worth every penny

Was bit skeptical at first, as these trips can turn out like a ford assembly line, but it was truly great and was worth every penny. From attention to coffee and local snack at departure, to the friendly onboard staff. These guys went beyond, serving you cooled beverages, snacks to make sure ppl have some sugar in them to face the eventful day. Good balance with seeing beaches and bathing experience, not too pushed for consommation, everyone at own pace. Also eye opener on human impact on the corals, but aren’t we all responsible!? Do it with respect, enjoy the paradise on earth!

A bargain, but never again

After a terrible cafeteria lunch at Kho Phi Phi (it was not at a restaurant, but at a local mess hall that served hundreds of people), we parked at Pi Leh Bay and we were able to jump off the boat for a swim. That was the absolute highlight of the trip. Otherwise, it was uncomfortably crowded on the boat (over 30 people) and only a handful could sit in the front where you can see everything. The rest were seated shoulder to shoulder in the back with high walls so you couldn’t see the water unless you stood up. This would’ve been fine for short-distance trips, but we were on the boat for over 2.5 hours in total, spread out across the day. Also, the tour followed the same schedule as 10 other tour boats so it was pretty crowded even on land, especially Maya Bay. Overall, for what we paid, I think it was “worth it” to see some of these spots for the first time. However, next time we’ll definitely be getting a private boat and only hitting up the spots we liked the most.

The islands that we went to were beautiful! We got to spend at least 30 minutes at each destination, which was plenty. They supplied us with snorkeling masks, which was nice. The tour guide was friendly and made sure that we were enjoying the trip. The only downside was the food for lunch. It was not the best, but other than that the trip was perfect!
