We had a fantastic tour with the best guide, Vasco! He showed us his favourite viewpoints of the area, in addition to stopping at the scheduled places. We had an amazing lunch, prepared in the traditional style, over an open grill. The tour was the highlight of our trip to Portugal!

Vasco took great pride in providing us with a very custom and truly unique experience. Just when we thought it couldn’t get any better he would surprise us with something else. The best scenery and meal we’ve had on our trip!

Vasco was an amazing guide. There is no better way to experience wine country in the Douro Valley. We enjoyed spending time in a river cruise getting to know Vasco. After which, the real fun started with a climb out of the valley and on to the plateau. There were toured some small villages and had an amazing lunch with a local family. We toured a cooperative winery, stopped at some amazing vistas, and made it back in time for our train ride back to Porto.

Fantastic experience touring the Douro. The focus is on the history of the region, seeing as much of the valley as you can in a day. There is a brief stop at a lovely Moscatel producer where you learn about production and try two varietals. The lunch stop was wonderful and Vasco is fantastic.

Truly an outstanding day with Nuna. He was so knowledgeable and eager to share his passion for the Douro. Nuna was a fantastic guide. A personal tour creates a unique experience that is really unmatched. This was definitely the highlight of our trip to Portugal. Could not recommend this tour more!

Nuno was an excellent guide, full of knowledge that he is eager to share. We took a private tour (one couple) that was diverse and interesting: wine tasting (and winery explanations), reaching hidden spots off the beaten track, tasty lunch at a local eatery and a short boat trip. Highly recommended!

WOW with a capital W.O.W.!!! We had an awesome day with Nuno. He was a fabulous host and his love of the Douro Valley was evident in showing us his “backyard”. This is an experience you don’t want to miss in the Douro!

4x4 in the Douro

Nuno meet us at the Quinta we were staying at and took us on a wonderful trip for the day. We visited many vineyard via 4x4. He also drove us to a small Quinta with wine and Olive oil production. He also brought us to a co op that produces Favaios and Moscatel. We where brought to a good restaurant in Tua, that had beautiful views of the Douro. His information of history and culture was full of pride. This was one of the highlights of our stay in the Douro. We would recommend Grapeland.
