Loved the beach ride! We were riding for a good amount of time. Two of the horses were pretty spunky, the other two were very steady horses. A great time was had by all. The beach was a great break from all the riding! Highly recommend!

Fun once in a lifetime experience to do with kids. I’m not exactly sure how well treated the horses actually are though…the guides and were nice kept us safe and we tipped them, so maybe that money might go towards the horses…?

I absolutely love horseback riding so that was my favorite part. The most memorable and funny is when my daughter's horse did a stop drop and roll 😂😂😂 she could've been hurt but she wasn't, her horse Blacky just decided to sit down and roll in the sand like a dog. The best part was sitting on the beach sipping a fabulous pina Colada in a pineapple shell with fresh fruit

This experience was very average. The beach is beautiful and the drinks at the end were delicious. However, the guides do not speak English very well, and really just lead the group and take pictures for you. If you wanted to know anything about the animals, plants, nature, etc. they will not be able to provide that. The horses are very good, but the guides do not ask for anyone’s riding experience or give much direction at all. They asked the group if anyone wanted to do galloping, and did not ask or make sure the people who wanted to were experienced horseback riders. If an inexperienced rider participated without knowing what they were getting into, they definitely would get injured. Fine experience but don’t expect much more.

Roberto was our guide, very nice. For the price it really wasn’t much. The ads and pics make you believe you’re going through tropical forests and that was not the case. It was just some overgrowth, still pretty but not at all what was expected. No exotic animals as advertised, I saw 1 iguana on a tree and that was it. Was not prepared for the beach, expected sand but it was all Shells. Saw some cool fish while snorkeling but getting back on the beach up to our little table was painful for the feet. Was also offered a drink as soon as we got there, was not explained that it was not included in what we purchased, so ended up paying $8 for 2 cokes. If it weren’t for Roberto being so nice and the horses being so good, I would probably would leave only 1-2 stars.

A great experience. I own my own horse at home, so the owner took me to the side and we did a lot of galloping along the beach and straightaways. My husband on the other side was completely content with walking/trotting with the group. It was great for all levels of experience!

Very enjoyable, peaceful afternoon ride along beautiful nearly deserted beach and pretty backroads and trails. Roberto and Jose had the horses ready when we arrived and were friendly, patient guides who clearly cared for their horses and their clients. Horses were well-behaved. Helmets were provided. Good to bring some insect repellent if riding in shorts as there were a few mosquitoes. My two teens and I had a great time !

It was a beautiful sunset ride. We had fun. The local people we met were very friendly and helpful. The tour guide was very friendly and helpful with the language barrier.

We had a good time as a family and thankfully had no accidents, but I would caution anyone to think that this tour is being led by a trained and seasoned guide--it is not. Our guide had limited English skills and gave very perfunctory instructions at the start of the tour. I don't think he was a licensed guide, since he lacked the professionalism, knowledge and safety briefings that we experienced on other tours with licensed guides. Apparently in Costa Rica, customers can ask to see the licensure of guides, as this is a regulated industry. I wish we had known that before we booked this tour. For example, when we asked what sorts of fish we would see while snorkeling, he said, "I don't know. Fish?" He also had very limited knowledge of the flora and fauna around us. For example, we saw several iguanas on our ride and he had no information to share about them. He also told us that he had tested negative for COVID but I don't believe that given the high price of testing in Costa Rica and no actual proof that he tested negative. Here are some of the things that were NOT communicated to us: 1) That there were 2 opportunities to stop and snorkel, so if we needed towels, slippers, sunblock, etc. we should bring it with us. That information was never communicated to us in any emails prior to the experience nor prior to taking off on the horses. 2) Instructions on how to control the horses and how to properly ride them. He didn't cover the basics of safety. My son's horse went into a full gallop and he didn't know how to ride a galloping horse. Fortunately, no accident happened but the guide never told us how to manage the galloping horse (or even told not to gallop at all and how to stop the horse if it did start). 3) No life vests or helmets were provided at all. If we had known that, we would have prepared ourselves for that lack of safety equipment (possibly even cancelled), but instead had to go with the lack of those when we arrived. Incidentally, the snorkeling equipment they provided was faulty and in poor condition. I wish I had known those issues before I booked this trip and I caution anyone with children to consider safety carefully before you book with this company. If you don't mind taking your safety into your own hands and feel this is worth the money spent, that's your call.
