I really wanted to give this excursion more stars but I felt more disappointed than I should have been. The staff was friendly and was fun to zipline with. It all seemed very secure, so safety was never out of question. They cracked jokes and made sure everyone was having a good time. The ziplining was by far the most fun of the whole experience. The horseback riding was fun, but very short and very rocky. The horses seemed to be all well trained. The lunch! It was the best meal we had all trip. The fish was amazing.
Why am I giving this 2 stars? A few things. The slide is bumpy! It is very curvy and hard. Someone could easily walk away with bruises from this. The women in our group had to where some sort of rubber diaper. It was very strange, but I'm sure it served some purpose. This is not for everyone and I would proceed with caution.
Next, we were pointed in the direction of the hot springs, no guide accompanied us. 2 of the 4 pools were cold. The 3rd was lukewarm and the 4th is scorching hot. The "mud bath" is a bowl of mud which you can paint yourself with. Be sure you WATCH OUT for the signs that to you not to dunk your head under water as there is a chance of contracting MENINGITIS. I'm sure this is a precaution but holy cow, that's serious. If people knew this ahead of time, I'm sure it would deter a lot of visitors. I think people should be aware of the risks ahead of time.
This last point may sound to others and it would have been for me as well, but the way it was handled really disappointed me. The booking was advertised as including alcoholic drinks. At no point were we ever offered any. When I questioned this during lunch, they informed us that the alcohol was available for purchase and the included alcohol was included during our transportation. Our driver never offered us anything but water, nor did he make us aware of this in-route. I pointed out that the advertisement and booking confirmation. They originally denied my request for a beer. We spent over $600 for our group and I was denied a $6 beer. They later radioed their manager and gave me a single beer. They did not ask if anyone else wanted anything nor did they offer cover previously ordered drinks. This felt like false advertising.
