It's an amazing tour, an experience we'll never forget. We can very much recommend it. The staff is super nice and welcoming. The only downside: Photos of the tour are rediculously expensive (25USD p.p. or 99USD for all).

Recommend Rio Secreto PLUS Tour

Going through the cave with only head lights and walking and swimming in chilly water was incredible. At the end everyone sat and turned off their light so TOTAL dark. We did the Plus tour that included biking, rappelling, and dry cave tour. We will do this tour again when return to Maya Riviera.

This trip was simply AMAZING from start to finish! The best part of this trip was our guide Victoria. She was so knowledgeable about the Mayans, the land, & the caves. She was very energetic and a blessing to be around. Rio Secreto Nature Reserve was breathtaking. It you are a nature lover, this is definitely the tour for you!

This was one of the most memorable experiences. Make sure the body suit to protect you from the cold water fits well but not too tight. I got a small one that suffocated me and had to go back to change to a bigger one. Also this is definitely not for the disabled or elderly unless they are physically fit. Nunez was very knowledgable and helpful guiding us all the way through the caves.

Trip was AMAZING! We did the tulum ruins first, then rio Secreto caves & swimming. Lunch was provided afterwards which was phenomenal. Mata Gonzalez was the tour guide and he made the BIGGEST difference (you have to request him due to high demand). Can’t say enough about how amazing he was. I have been on many tours and he is hands down the best tour guide in Mexico. Transportation was provided and we were picked up from our hotel and brought back to the hotel when the trip was done.

Our tour guide, Adrián, and our photographer, Edgar, were fantastic! They were careful not to let me slip and fall and when a lady in our group became very claustrophobic, they did a great job with her.
Tips for travelers:
If you get claustrophobic, at all, don’t do this tour!
Eat a full breakfast beforehand. Stay hydrated.
Don’t wear sunscreen because it hurts the water.
Take an anti-nausea pill before getting in the car. It’s going to be a bumpy ride!

This excursion was great! The cave was beautiful and the tour was very informative. They provide all the equipments necessary and food after the excursion. Please be aware that you will have to hop from one van to another (around 5 different vans with different drivers)
to get around the place. Each driver has a sign in the van requesting for tips as it’s mainly their wage for the day. The sign also has RIO’s logo on it. I wasn’t aware of this and didn’t bring enough to tip the drivers and staff that assisted us. As well, each digital photo cost $25 USD.

Very professional loved the long swim perfectly safe with life jacket on. Unfortunately they won't allow you to take photos and theirs are far too expensive and not that good.

Ana, our guide was very knowledgeable, articulate and funny. She worked seamlessly between three languages: Spanish, English and French. A highlight to this very well presented experience was the opportunity to experience complete darkness (not a peep of light) while floating peacefully.
