Oscar was the best guide. Very patient and passionate about what he does. You can tell he has done this for a while. We saw amazing sea turtles so close up. It was a grand and amazing day. Thank you Oscar you were GREAT!

When booking most trips on viator.com the price is for 2 people, and if you travel alone you pay double, which is frustrating, I hope something is done about this. Apart from that, which the operator has nothing to do with, the trip was lovely. The check in process is a bit tedious, they should recommend people meeting at the gift shop in playa del Carmen, if possible. Herlan was a fantastic guide, appreciated that he gave us an intro on Tulum in the car rather than out in the sun. And all else was great, efficient drop off as well, back by 5pm.

Tulum and Turtle Swim

Kind of wish I’d listened to the other people who said it wasn’t worth it. Tulum was cool, enjoyed seeing the ruins. There were a lot of people though. On the swimming part we definitely saw turtles but once again there were a lot of people all trying to see the same turtles. We weren’t over a reef so it’s not like there’s a lot of other cool stuff to look at. A few fish here and there and we did see a ray. The guides who were in charge of the snorkeling part didn’t do a great job of properly fitting our snorkel gear and life vests, which kind of made the snorkeling part miserable and my husband and I generally love snorkeling. Like other people stated it is a lot of waiting time and a lot of being passed around throughout the day. Our main tour guide was great so we appreciated his hard work but like I said we kind of got passed around between multiple different guides and drivers. Overall we didn’t hate it and if you just have to swim with the turtles it might be great for you. We just didn’t think it was worth the money and would not recommend it to others.

It’s okay. Long drive time and waiting.

Got picked up at 7am in the lobby then dropped off downtown Playa del Carmen to stand in line and then pay for the reef taxes in a tourist shop. Waited there for quite some time to have another shuttle pick us and up and take us to Tulum.. Once at Tulum went into another shop and waited to finally start the tour. We took another shuttle to Akumal and we never received our lunch or snack. We didn't get back to hotel until around 3pm. It was a long day. If we knew the stops before going to the ruins would take so long we probably would not have booked this one.

Awesome snorkel experience

The best part was snorkeling with the turtles. It was absolutely amazing and the guide did a great job! Unfortunately the rest of the tour seemed pretty disorganized. Lots of unnecessary wait time, and the tour in Tulum seemed rushed. It wasn’t the guides fault though, he seemed to be on a deadline from the company. Overall it was a good experience.

Our tour guide was wonderful. He was always making sure we were good and made sure we had a great time. Swimming with the turtles was a once in a lifetime experience. The ruins were absolutely fascinating.

It was a great experience, Both activities were worth going. Our tourist guide - Lucina Verduzco was great! She picked us up on time and very friendly, she gave us a lot of explanation on the Maya culture and good introduction on the Tulum ruins, she also took well care of us during the whole journey!

Our guide Adrian was great. He made up for the fact that i was told to be at a destination by 720. Was told be on time and my bus didn't leave for another hour. All the other tours we went on were on time. I saw tour bus after tour bus from other companies leave and we are still standing there. ADRIAN was great though. Super attentive always checking to make sure we were ok and having fun. All the attractions were amazing. Swimming with the turtles was the highlight.

Tour guide was knowledgeable and sea life in Akumal Bay was amazing. Tour was somewhat disorganized and spent too much time waiting around. - we were at pickup location at specified 7:40am, waited 45 minutes for van to take us to central pickup location, then another 45 minute wait to check in. Tour agent gave us wrong wrist band, so had to keep showing ticket to prove we paid for both Tulum & Swimming with Turtles. Tulum guide was good, but site was crowded. Lunch not included, but did not stop at a place for us to buy lunch. Switched to 3rd van for Swimming with Turtles. It was a long day (7:40am-3:00pm) with too much wasted time.

Awesome experience. Tulum was beautiful and got to see many turtles! Would have left 5 stars, but the tour says it will be 5-6 hours. We were at 8 hours by the time we got back to the hotel. The only reason we booked the tour was because we thought it would be short! Also there was quite a lot of confusion between the guides in tulum. Also there were no snacks provided as stated. All in all a great tour, but definitely some timing issues and misstatements on the website!

Oscar was great! we saw many turtles and enjoyed the ruins. A great half day tour. Just an FYI the description of the tour states that it begins at 7. It does not. Ours did not include pickup because we were staying in the Tulum hotel zone. It actually did not begin until 9, so we sat around waiting at the meeting point for two hours. Not ideal.

This is the perfect excursion for those who don't want to spend too much time off resort, but want a mix of history, shopping and fun all in one day. The tour of Tulum Ruins was very interesting, an excellent presentation of Mayan Culture and history. The ruins are beautiful, and the seaside view is spectacular. A quick dip in the pristine waters brings quick relief from the sun's heat. Bring cash for souvenir shopping and snacks in Tulum. Akumal Bay snorkelling with Turtles is amazing and fine for weaker swimmers, as lifejackets are worn. We attended as an adult family hosted by Oscar "the grouch", who was anything but. He was funny, well spoken and sophisticated in his knowledge, polite and always attentive to the needs of his guests. Highly recommended!!
