Please send us your Hotel / Accommodation name and address in order to arrange the transfer service. Hotel pickups commence approximately 60 to 90 minutes prior to this time, exact pickup time will be advised on reconfirmation. It's important for you to send us your room number so we can have access to the resort for the pickup. We don't do transfers from Cancun. If you are staying in Cancun Area we can arrange a private transfer for an extra fee. Please contact us for more information.

What To Expect

After hotel pickup Akumal, board your single or double ATV. Each rider receives a helmet and goggles along with a safety briefing before following a guide off the beaten track on your 4x4.

Experience the thrill of motoring along a jungle path in the Riviera Maya and learning about the unique flora and fauna in this natural environment. You have the opportunity to swim in a cenote and visit a local monkey sanctuary to hear about its rescue efforts and see its furry inhabitants.

End your tour back at your hotel.

You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.

For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.

Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
This experience requires good weather. If it’s cancelled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.

We took this tour for a bachelorette party and it was honestly one of the best excursions we have ever done! The staff was incredible and so funny! They made sure we were having the best time the entire time. This tour was better than we expected. The ATV was fun and they let us enjoy it without stopping every minute or going too slow. The animal sanctuary was amazing, we even got to hold the monkeys and parrots. And the canotes were beautiful and we had enough time to take photos and also enjoy. Definitely would do it again!

ATV and Monkey Sanctuary: My Experience

Our ATV Adventure and Monkey Sanctuary day was an absolute blast! 🐒🌿 To start, the tour displayed a high level of professionalism throughout. Their on-time hotel pick-up was greatly appreciated by my group, It enhanced the overall experience significantly. The private cenote was a real gem - just our group, enjoying the cool and crystal-clear waters. The day kicked off with an ATV ride, starting at the Monkey Sanctuary and cruising to the cenote, followed by a return for a detailed tour of the sanctuary. I appreciate how the guide took excellent care of our group, considering that not everyone was experienced in driving ATVs. Safety was clearly a top priority, making the bumpy parts of the journey enjoyable for all. The Monkey Sanctuary was a truly unique experience. Although the monkey bonding portion came at an extra cost ($34 per person), it was well worth it. We had the chance to meet Sarah, the capuchin, which was an unforgettable encounter. Plus, we got to hold a snake and some birds. 🐍🦜. Moreover, the guided tour of the sanctuary shed light on their mission to rehabilitate and care for animals that come to them from some unfortunate situations. Overall, If you're up for an adventure filled with fun, wildlife, and a unique experience, I can't recommend this tour enough! 🚵‍♀️🐵

ATV ride was extremely dusty. Could hardly see in front of us at times. Be ready for a lot of dust. Lot of sitting around after check in. Would be better if things moved along quicker. Cave was cool. To touch monkeys was an extra $34 USD per person not included in the trip fee.

This was a very fun and informative experience. We started with the ATV part of the tour that took us along a dirt road for the first half then onto a dirt trail. They place you according to how they see you handle the machine so if you are placed at the front of the line you'll be able to go pretty fast. The ATV portion led to the cenote which was really cool and a fun way to cool off. Then we took the ATV's back to the sanctuary where we learned all about the animals they take in and rehabilitate. Overall a wonderful experience, our guides Omar and Mikey were very knowledgeable and passionate about the animals they took care of. Would definitely recommend this activity to everyone in the area!

Extremely Rushed

While the ATV and swim in the cenote were fun experiences, the whole tour was rushed. From the moment we got there we were told to hurry. We were quickly hearded from one place to the next. They spent a bunch of time talking about the refuge and then rushed us through seeing the actual animals. I enjoyed what we did and saw but hated the way they led the whole excursion.

Refreshing Fun

Couldn’t recommend enough! We requested hotel pickup and while the description they sent of the van was not exactly matching, it was still a van labeled for the monkey Sanctuary so we were still able to easily identify it. The van was promptly on time and the driver was great and got us there in record time. The ATV touring was awesome and fun, if you love ripping up the road on a quad this tour is definitely for you, but be prepared to get dirty! Swimming in the cenote was super cool and refreshing. Edwin and Ernesto were wonderful guides. My only complaint would be that it was so much fun I wish we had been able to do a longer tour or something! Such a wonderful experience, and I’ll definitely be recommending it to others!!!

Akumal Monkey Sanctuary was such an incredible place and you can tell the employees there were so passionate about what they do. Our tour guide Angel was informative and funny. The ATV ride to the cenote was so fun!! After that is when we saw the monkeys in the sanctuary. Overall it was such a fun experience and I would definitely come back next time I visit Tulum.

I did the ATV morning excursion, which included a walking tour of an animal rescue sanctuary, the ATV tour on a winding, hilly track followed by a swim in a Cenote and then back on the ATV back to base. There are optional insurance of 10 USD or 200 MXN for the ATV and if you havent bought one along you can purchase a bandanna scarf for the bikes youre gonna need it, plus make sure youve got your sunglasses.
