What To Expect

Agincourt Reef is a fantastic base for discovering the outer Great Barrier Reef, featuring a permanently moored pontoon for easy underwater exploration. Your full-day adventure begins with a 1.5-hour high-speed catamaran cruise to the edges of the reef. During the voyage, relax on the sun decks, take morning tea and watch a snorkeling demonstration.

When you arrive at Agincourt, splash into the water from a submerged platform to snorkel among tropical fish and coral gardens using provided snorkeling equipment. If you prefer to stay dry, you can still explore the world-famous reef from an underwater observatory or with an included semi-submersible boat tour.

Many optional activities allow you to customize your reef adventure (additional expense). Go deeper with an introductory or certified scuba dive, take a guided snorkeling tour led by a marine biologist, embark on an Ocean Walker helmet dive or get an aerial perspective on the reef with a thrilling 10-minute helicopter flight.

Savor a tropical buffet lunch onboard the catamaran midday, and recharge with afternoon tea. After approximately 3.5 hours at the reef, relax on the return ride to Port Douglas.

See Itinerary below for a complete description of all included and optional tours and activities. Select the guided snorkeling tour, introductory dive and Ocean Walker at booking; other activities are payable direct on the day of your tour.

Excellent experience. Not overcrowded as towards end of season. The marine biologist guided tour is extra but was really worth it to see bits we wouldn't have otherwise explored. Good food and plenty of it with no real queue. They provided prescription goggles which was really useful for someone who can't see much without his glasses
Great Experience

Snorkeled for the first time and had a great time. The experience was beautiful and therapeutic. The crew was very friendly and helpful
A must do tour for all!

I was not expecting our vessel to be docked at a platform in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. There was so many activities for all to experience the GBR even if you didn’t want to get wet. The Abundant fish & many types of coral I saw was spectacular. The food & snacks we were feed was great, including healthy options. Every single one of the crew members made us feel safe & special. I will never forget this tour! Bravo Quicksilver & crew! TMT
Enchanting underwater realm

The quicksilver boat and platform provided a comfortable and convenient staging area to enter the water at the Reef. The variety and colors of the fish and coral were magnificent

Swimming with turtles and seeing the reef life. Prawn lunch was delicious and the trip to the reef was smooth. Staff very friendly.
Not a good option for the price you pay
lide_C, Jan 2023
This tour is certainly geared towards people that have never dived a reef. In short I wouldn't quicksilver tours to anyone other than perhaps a family that has very low expectations and is comfortable with waiting in line to snorkel surrounded by hundreds of other snorkellers.
Beautiful reef

Great experience for the whole family!

Good experience even for non swimmer. Lots of activities for different level swimmers. We only do snorkeling as we need to look after younger kids. For older kids, they can go introduction scuba diving and excursion snorkeling to further reef. Great experience for all family.

The sea life was wonderful and the staff were all fantastic from the time we left Port Douglas until the time we returned back.
Unmissable

Wow, what a fantastic day we had on this trip. I was a bit apprehensive being scared of open water but picked this as I could stay on pontoon. However, it was so well organised that I took the plunge and took it slow to get use to the snorkel and so glad I did it. It was absolutely amazing. Crew were fantastic and a fabulous buffet lunch too. Don't be put off by it being a large cruise people wise, as a lot of crew members aboard to make it personal and it never felt like too many people in one space. If I can do it anyone can but there are other options for non swimmers too
Lovely experience

It was lovely snorkelling with my husband. An experience of joy and wonder, very peaceful under the water with fish and coral
Aboard the 1st cruise...

Aboard the 1st cruise ship visit to Arlie Beach by the Celebrity Eclipse in Nov 2022 where we came half way across the world to visit the famed Great Barrier Reef, but when all the ship's excursions were booked already, we had $225.50 taken from us by Ocean Rafting and Viator when they knowingly took our reservation for it's 8:45 am tour with the knowledge our ship's tendering disembarkation was at a further location than the 100 meters walk that we were told when we made the query through the Viator pre-booking process. As those who have been on cruise ships, the Internet connectivity is extremely poor or non-existent except for the most basic of text content, so we were not aware that the new arrival location was not served by Ocean Rafting's pick up van until we sailed into range of the shore Internet. We attempted to work with Ocean Rafting to take an available no-show spot on it's 10:15 am tour since we were standing there at 10:00 am but we were told the raft was 100% full, even though we had seen other parties from our cruise ship who had booked for that time were not aboard that nor were they able to show up in time for that raft's full capacity departure. From the talk of others on the way back on the ship's bus as we returned to the ship after having our hopes to visit the GBR using Ocean Rafting, many of us who booked with Viator for the 8:45 and 10:15 am snorkel adventures had their hopes dashed by Ocean Adventure from Arlie Beach. We come from across the world after 3 years since our original Australia trip was terminated by the pandemic to find Ocean Rafting taking our US$225.50 which Viator is allowing to continue it's seemingly predatory business practice. So fair warning to you when you are considering going with this company - prepare for a huge disappointment!!!!
Fantastic Day on the Outer Reef
Linda_F, Nov 2022
The trip on Quicksilver was fabulous! The boat is spacious and comfortable and the platform is also very spacious and comfortable and well organized. All of the staff were friendly and kind. The buffet lunch was good. The snorkeling was great! They explained everything clearly how to use the equipment and how to check it was the right size. Getting the various gear was simple and easy, everything was so well organized. There were bouys around the snorkel practice area and around the outer area containing an incredible portion of the reef. I felt safe at all times with a lifeguard surveying the whole area. Everthing was included in the trip except there was an extra charge for the underwater camera rental which they provided on board. We got to keep the photos and videos on a mega-gig SD card. They warned us not to expect the reef to be as colourful as seen on TV without camera lights. But it was very colourful! - so close under the water and brilliant purples, blues, oranges, whites, yellows, pinks. So many beautiful fish. and I actually saw a large shark swimming under me! The whole day from beginning to end was perfect. Thank you Quicksilver. This was a bucket-list trip for me and you made it perfect.
Trip of a Lifetime

Great experience. Just enough time to do it all. Lunch was great and drinks at the bar reasonably priced. Staff very helpful and polite. Do the short helicopter scenic flight out there. Beautiful view. Highly recommend.
Stunning adventure!

Great trip! Succeeded my expectations. We went out on a nice and tidy cruise boat, was fed all day, lunch was like a Christmas lunch. The day was perfect, and you had plenty of time to snorkel and relax. Snorkelling was unreal, the only thing I would say is that we wished we could have gone to different spots to snorkel as we were located in one designated spot, but other then that it was amazing! I suggest taking a go pro which we unfortunately did not do.
Must do
