What To Expect

Make your own way to the Port Douglas Meridien Marina to check in for your sunset sailing cruise and board your luxury catamaran.

Receive a short safety briefing on board, and sip your choice of complimentary welcome drink as your captain sets sail. Drink choices include non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages such as beer or sparkling, white or red wine. The crew also serves a gourmet selection of hot and cold appetizers to nibble during your cruise.

As your boat glides out on the gorgeous Coral Sea, admire the scenic surroundings including coral cay islands, the mountains, Low Isles and coastline, all set against the colorful skies of a stunning tropical sunset. Keep your camera handy for great photo ops and savor the experience of this classic evening sail on the Coral Sea.

After about 1.5 hours, your captain returns you to the dock in Port Douglas where your tour ends.

Please be aware we often have multiple vessels sailing for the Sunset Sail tour, so if you are travelling with another passenger under a separate booking, please advise our office so we can ensure you are sailing on the same vessel.
This tour/activity will have a maximum of 45 travellers

Cancellation Policy

You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.

For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.

Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
This experience requires good weather. If it’s cancelled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.

AWESOME experience.... loved watching all the smug peeps who raced onto the boat first to get the ‘best seats’ on the boat scramble to the back of the boat when things got a little rough ! Hanging on to the side was a great viewing spot & so much fun! The crew were fabulous- looked after us all. The sunset spectacular!!

We did the sunset cruise on our last night at Port Douglas. It was a lovely way to finish off a wonderful holiday. Crew were friendly & knowledgeable. Drinks & nibbles perfect. The weather was a little windy, the seas choppy, we would not be seeing any sunset as it was overcast... and we were somewhat apprehensive. It turned out to be a fun and authentic cruise. The all lady crew were professional, positive and friendly. We had the good fortune to be seated on the top level and able to watch the captain and crew skillfully sail the yacht out to the ocean and back. The smiling crew kept us supplied with drinks and snacks. We loved it so much, we will probably go again!! Thankyou Sailaway cruises.

Fun trip on the Catamaran. Lovely vessel with plenty of seating around for a different experinece level of the "adventure". Sitting at the front is as exciting as any fair ground ride for the adrenaline. Even along the back with 38 knot winds is exciting while the seats around the table before the cabin offer a little gentler experience. Lovely staff, smiling and friendly with nice hit and cold canapés.. well worth the experience.

I fell ill whilst on holiday last week in PD and had to change the date of our booking from Tuesday to Thursday. I was still extremely unwell on Thursday but my husband was told he could not change the date again so hugely disappointed at having to miss out on our pre-paid cruise.

The experience was great. The cruise was better than we expected, only because we booked online as a last minute extra activity to do whilst staying in Port Douglas on our honeymoon.
