The driver of the boat was really nice and fun. It was so much more fun to go on a small boat like this than a big ferry, to get a more friendly vibe. The worst part was the sea sickness, so many boats = a lot and huge waves! Still worth doing the small boat to get to know new people!

I am writing this review to give an accurate description of what our day was like (we booked a tour for end of August) as we had a different impression of what this tour was like and we weren’t aware of some important facts. If you are coming from Positano, a private car will pick you up and drive you to the marina which is about an hour away. At the marina, you will have to wait for the rest of the tours to get there. When we booked the excursion, we were under the impression that we would spend more time on the boat and less time in Capri. Please know, that you will be in Capri for 4 hours and in order to properly tour Capri you will have to take the private buses that work with the tour company for an additional 25 euros. While it is optional, it’s the only realistic way to see most of Capri for the time frame that you do have. We had wished that the bus tour fee would have been included in the our front cost when we booked. We would have preferred less time in Capri and more time on the boat, however we really did enjoy our boat guides Mary and Gianni, they were excellent and the boat tour we took to visit some of the grottos and to swim was amazing. For those who want more time in the water and boat, I would recommend a different tour, but if you are looking for half a day trip to Capri to shop and eat then this is for you.

We had a nice time on this tour. Tony was great and we loved being on the boat and stopping to swim. Would’ve preferred less time in Capri - 4 hours is a long time. The drive to the boat was a lot longer and more crammed than we expected.

Disaster Capri Trip

Where do I begin with this disaster. The cars were late to pick us up from Positano to Sorrento (1 hour lost). Get on the boat the “ fluent English speaking tour guide” couldn’t speak a word of English just starts the boat and off we go nothing about life jackets, time to destination, itinerary nothing. I asked how long it would take he said 30 mins to which it took an hour. I had to ask for water which we found a little esky with a few bottles when it said drinks were provided. We arrived and drove past a monument cave but can’t tell you anything about it because the guide couldn’t tell us. Randomly stop at this spot and I asked can we go swimming and he said yes. Had to ask for goggles which the tour said was provided to which he did find some on the boat. One of the 12 people on board couldn’t swim so we told her not to jump in but the guide wouldn’t know because he never asked. The snacks and light lunch that were promised was 3 small packets of chips between 12 people! We were supposed to go to 2 swimming spots only went to 1. The itinerary also said 4 spots to visit we only did 2. Then it took an hour to get into the port and off the boat which left us under 2 hours on the island which the itinerary said we would have 4 hours so we missed out on the blu grotto. We have complained to Viator and the tour company asking for a full refund however only received 10% back. The trip was extremely expensive and a waste of our limited time in Positano. Choose another company.

The boat tour part was very good. It was a nice way to see a lot of the island and the guides were very knowledgeable and fun. We didn’t know a lot about Capris so we were a little worried about filling the 4hrs we were there, but the guides told us a lot of fun things to do and we ended up filling the time quickly. The one issue was the driving service to get from Positano to the boat. The drivers were kind of aggressive with us even though we were there early. On the way back they dropped everyone at their hotels and we were the last ones since our hotel was near the pickup location. The driver ended up just leaving us at the edge of town instead of going back to the pickup spot, so we had to walk back to our hotel. I have no idea why he did this since he ended up driving to the depot right after because we saw him while we were walking back. Just really bizarre and kind of a bad way to end the trip. Otherwise, the main parts of the excursion were gold.

Other than the lovely staff, the trip was a disappointment. We were scheduled for an 8:15 am pickup, but that was changed the day before to 7:45 am. Nothing is open in Positano at that hour for breakfast or even cafe. The 40 minute drive to Sorrento was lovely, but then we waited in the heat for 1 hr and 45 minutes to board the boat. So we were not able to eat anything only to wait for an extra long time. This was marketed as a tour of the coast and then to Capri, but the boat sped directly to Capri where we spent 4 hours. But once on Capri, it was a 25€ bus ticket to get anywhere. That should have been explained ahead of time and should have been included with the price of the tour as it certainly could have been arranged. While 4 hours may seem like a long time, it was not, given the sheer number of tourists on Capri. We had just enough time to take the lift to the top in Anacapri and have lunch. If you want to shop (I did not) and enjoy Capri leisurely, this is not the tour for you. After boarding back on the boat we only went to 1 location to swim for 20 mins. Another disappointment as there were certainly other spots we could have enjoyed the water, especially being in the heat of Capri. The boat also had no shade, and was not very comfortable.

This guaranteed us 4 hours to explore Capri. They basically dropped us off at the restaurant right at the pier. We only had time to scarf down a meal before we had to get back on the boat to take us back to Positano. When we asked the organizer why we weren’t able to have our four guaranteed hours at Capri, they said they had to “keep an itenerary” Boat guide was great but we did not get what we paid for.

A friend and I had the greatest experience on this trip! We were picked up close to our hotel in Positano and were brought to the marina in Sorrento. The drive itself was an exciting trip with the narrow streets and brave Italian drivers racing through the turns! We then had an amazing ride on the boat and had an excellent captain and hostess, Vivianna! They were so kind and even though the waters were a bit choppy, the captain ( I wish I remembered his name) was so amazing and made sure the boat was still enjoyable. And can’t forget to mention jumping in the water and swimming in the beautiful blue! Overall, great experience!

Worst excursion ever!! Nothing we were promised and PAID for actually happened. We were NOT picked up in a van, our meeting time was changed to an hour later but no one told us, we did NOT have an English-speaking captain. The boat was overloaded per the capacity sign on the boat. We were taken to the crappy side of Capri, NOT the upscale side. We had a public beach that was disgusting. The only place to sit was in rocks near the garbage cans. Boat driver was late picking us up from Capri. He took us to “swim” in the middle of choppy water. There were no life vests offered. It was not a safe place to swim, we were all quite done with this horrid experience and just wanted off the boat back at Positano! This was an absolute waste of an entire day of our trip, our last day, so no chance for a “do-over”’ Also, a total waste of our money and there better be a full refund. Could not be more disgusted!!

Our boat took off 30 minutes late. It was said we would have the option for the blue grotto for an additional fee which we did not. We were told we would have a toilet and wifi on board our boat and we did not have either. The boat took almost double the time of the other boat in our tour. Due to this we only only 15min to swim when the other group had an hour.

Capri - no tour guide

The Mediterranean is gorgeous! We enjoyed the trip immensely! However a few things to note if you go: the drivers to/ from Positano to Sorrento as great - easy meeting point. The boat captain is great however he only drives the boat - we never new what we were looking at or what was next- had to ask for information. Don’t expect a tour guide for any of the trip - just drivers. You have to take a bus or taxi into the city - lots of shopping or you can stay on the rocky beach area where we get off. Because communication was poor; we didn’t realize there were 2 marinas and on our return we went to the wrong one - thank goodness we planned a lot of time to return - 3 bus rides later we made it to the boat a few minutes past our return time. Swimming was very nice with snacks - plenty of water, coke and beer. I still don’t know if we went to the Blue Grotto since nothing was told to us. Only other note was - when I booked the max was for 6 people and we were a party of six. The group size ended up being 16 with one boat for 12 and other one for 4. The large boat was great. The small boat from what the other passengers said was not what they signed up for

They were an hour late to pick us up due to the car breaking down. This was not an issue because it was not the company’s fault. However, they made us wait an hour just to have us walk down to the port to meet our boat, something we could have done an hour earlier. The boat ride was nice, but there was no explanation of the sights they were taking us to. Our time on the island was then cut an hour short because of our late start which was frustrating. We were only given 15 minutes to swim. I would have much rather booked a ferry ticket for €20, spent more time on the island and actually gotten to swim then book this mediocre boat ride for $200.

Believe me, our tour has nothing to compare with the hydrofoil but try it next time and then you'll tell me, I don't think it's necessary to rage further by also asking for a refund after our unplanned problem and for which we tried to remedy in all ways when you were on board! Great trip and worth every minute

I took this tour yesterday. It was fantastic from start to finish. The boat was a perfect size with just the right number of people. Very personalized. The trip to Capri was beautiful and then they helped us set up a way to travel the island with a shuttle and easy way to access various parts of the island. Public transportation on the island is tricky. They took care of us by giving us access to a shuttle for 25 euro. We saw Anacapri and Capri. The trip back we were able to swim in the Mediterranean! They also toured us around the grottos. When we returned. They took us back to Positano. During the trip back to the harbor, Tony was fun and Pino has amazing captain skills. This was worth every penny.
