This was the best adventure my partner and I could've possible signed up for! I highly, highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see a wilder side of the region. Laura, Alberto, Marielos, and the rest of the Villalobos family and crew were such sweet company. They are experts on the region and full of stories. And, our tour was private with just me, my partner, and Laura. We watched hundreds of dolphins jumping out of the water on our boat ride over, swam with rays and beautiful fish while snorkeling, enjoyed their delicious provided home cooking, and toured around the gorgeous property to collect fresh pineapple, banana, starfruit, plantain, grapefruit, etc. The property where you stay is unreal - totally private, backed up to a national park, only accessible by boat - the views and sunset alone make the whole trip worth it. At night, we followed frog songs to search for frogs hiding in plants, then went down to the water and watched the bioluminescent waves crash neon blue. We also had a birthday celebration for my partner, including a homemade cake provided by the Villalobos family. They went above and beyond and made this the favorite part of our three month costa rica adventure. The next morning, we set out on our kayak trek across Golfo Dulce! I was nervous as I had no kayak experience, but I'm so glad we did it! Anyone nervous about the journey (it took us three hours to cross Golfo Dulce), it can be a bit challenging but that's part of the fun. It's totally doable - just do it!! Our journey ended with a final delicious fresh and local lunch at their cafe. Thank you sooo much Villalobos family!
