By far one of the best excursions I’ve done! They picked us up right outside of the port. The staff was amazing! Our cruise changed itinerary last min and the staff on this tour was able to easily accommodate us in switching our days. If you want to stay clean, this might not be the tour for you. They take you from their spot through some trails and end up at a nice beach where you can wash off. There are people going around selling stuff but if you aren’t interested they seemed to respect the 2nd no. They have beer and drinks at the beach there. We were there for about 30 mins and then we headed back through the trails again. Once we got back to the spot where they have the buggies, they allowed us to hose off the dirt. Bring clothes you don’t really care for because it will get dirty. We ended up buying the pictures that the staff takes because they actually were very cool. Reasonable pricing! & the staff is super helpful along the way. Would highly recommend.

10/10. Be prepared to walk to the meeting point. Drive to the buggies is 40 min, but you can get a look at the city and or nap. Did a bit of both. You do get very dirty so be sure to have clothes and shoes you don’t care if you have to throw them away. Workers were very fun and caring. Definitely doing it again.

Not worth the money

Not what I was expecting. We were riding buggies thru an area with trash everywhere. The kid smelled like sewage. The buggy’s are not in good shape and have constant problems. Crew was friendly but the people at the beach were very pushy selling merchandise.

Thanks for your review. The garbage system does not work the same way like in the states or Europe, specially after a Sunday might be more trash than usual before we have a chance to clean up. It is a culture difference.

Our entire family had a blast, from 8 year old to grandma! The people were great, the ride was fun including the fact it had just rained the night before and we had some down time on the beach. Would definitely recommend

This excursion was very memorable going through all the mud! We loved the beach that they took us to. We enjoyed a nice dip in the water and swam for about 20 minutes. I'm worried I got some sort of amoeba in my mouth with all that mud 😂 so make sure you bring a bandana or keep your mouth closed! The machines needed to be hotwired to get started and the seat belts were made of caribeaner clips. But you know what? Everything worked, the staff was nice and knew how to make the machines run, and the buggies were all cleaned up and ready to go for our ride. We also bought the photos from the picture guy. It was $40 and we got some pricless memories and fun buggy muddy splash photos. This was worth the price!

Paid good money to have the opportunity to ride through human/animal waste has always been a lifelong bucket wish! Thanks for the chance to do that! Now I’m forced to go to the doctor and get a full round of antibiotics for what your company calls fun! I will be going on every social media warning others they may visit your country and informing others not to book this excursion ever!

I am sorry to hear that you had a bad experience. You drive through some sugar cane area where cows walks sometimes. And if it had rain a lot the night before there can be cow waste on the road.

The experience was ok. We do this type of riding every weekend at home, and I guess I expected it to be a more thrilling experience and trails instead of just gravel roads with mud and cow crap splashing on us. The people that ran the tour were really nice. Loved the Beach but did not care for people trying to sell me something every 5 minutes, and I couldn't enjoy our 30 minutes at the beach.

It was a good experience. Nice people, friendly. My wife was sick up her stomach they gave her things to drink like a gatorate., water The only thing I didn’t like was the transportation it didn’t have no air conditioning .

We did a similar excursion last year and the experience was so much better! The trails were so dirty with glass bottles everywhere, the bathrooms had no running water and were disgusting. The buggies were hot wired! Very sketchy. And the staff demanded tips, I mean they literally walked up to you with a hat and demanded money. We always tip and had every intention on doing so, but they made me very uncomfortable. And once we dropped money in the hat, the photographer came up and after offering us the usb for $120 and we denied he dropped it to $80. We still denied so he demanded another tip!! The excursion specifically states pictures are not available but yet here is this guy taking pictures and trying to sell them… I would not recommend this company.

Thank you for the review, we are sorry to hear that you did not have a great experience. I have been in contact with our buggy partner to get some clarifications, regarding the bathrooms there was no street water pressure so it was filling up very slow but there was water with no pressure. In Dominican Republic the water and electricity system is completely different than North America or Europe. The same goes for recycling glass and plastic, you went the day after labor day so I believe you that it was a mess next to the road. Regarding the tip I informed the crew that they are not allowed to demand tip it is up the person.

Was so fun and out your guides from the time we got on the bus was extremely nice and helpful. Prepare to get wet and dirty! So fun and not extremely long of a excursion. They don't hound you to purchase anything either which is a plus. Only subtract one star because the walk from the pier to the meeting point is long hot and unshaded .

Very unorganized and the buggies weren't ready when we finally arrived. The path ran along the road and over rocks and nasty smelling mud puddles and through cow pastures with a stop at the beach to wash off the mud and allow the hawkers to try to sell us their wares. Something to cover your nose and mouth is mandatory!

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I will contact our buggy partner that the buggies need to be ready. Regarding the mud puddles, if it rained the night before then there are mud puddles. In the description of the tour it is mentioned to please bringa a scarf or something to cover your mouth.

Viator did an amazing job in organizing this excursion. Communication was perfect. The excursion was fun but be prepared to gt mud dumped on you. It's quite dirty. Ha to throw out all clothes and sneakers afterwards. The Buggys could be in better conditions. Ours broke down twice and had to be switched out. That was not great. Guide was good.

This was a really fun (and messy) experience. We read the reviews knowing we were in for mud, dirt and sand from head to toe and that's exactly what we got. The buggies were not in the best shape but for off roadng in the mud, I expected nothing more. We had a 2 seater and 4 seaters were available for families. They also offer quads for 1 to 2 people. Great pickup at cruise port just outside the gate. Bring sunglasses that wrap your face and a bandana to protect from dust and mud. Wear dark colored clothes and dirty, old sneakers because the mud will stain white clothes and shoes. A separate wash for all our clothes and shoes, when we reboarded the ship, was necessary. This adventurous and messy experience was the highlight of our cruise.

Have a blast getting muddy

You will get very muddy/dirty but will have a blast. It is a 40 minute ride in an open air truck. be aware that persistent locals are at the beach stop selling their wares and there is some pressure to purchase pics for $40. Wear something that can be tossed afterwards. (Think muddy puddles in a cow pasture kind of dirty) safety goggles or eye/face covering because very dirty water splashes on your eyes/mouth and whole body. They do provide helmets and open storage cubbies at the starting site for clean, dry clothes after rinsing off in the outdoor water showers. Even after that, you'll want to do again in heart beat.

Adventure off the Big Ship

Great trip off the cruise ship. Bit of a long drive from our port( the other one is closer). But Drive was interesting and saw lots of local sites. Buggy’s are a a bit rough but that was part of the fun. We like adventure and this was exactly what our family likes. You get very dirty! Bring or by the bandana offered, it makes a world of difference.

We were met on time just outside the cruise port. Lotta was great at keeping in touch with us and providing pickup information. We had an issue with out buggy quitting on us, but was taken care of immediately. The guides did a great job of making sure our group was all together and no one was left behind. We had an absolute blast!
