Joselis was our guide and he was great! Such a kind and cool guy. It was my mom and I who had been to the DR a few times so we wanted to see different things than what had been done before. We stopped to see Umbrella Street, pink Street, the gingerbread buildings, and the square. I actually hadn't been to those areas before, I had been to Punta Cana and Soana Island and I also have done the waterfall hike. This time I wanted to see a bit of the city and the fort- which we did ! I had asked if we could find a small restaurant with a more private beach to spend the afternoon. He took us to the most amazing private place and with a restaurant and bar on the beach. The umbrellas and chairs and were nicely set up and so clean and well cared for. Unfortunately, this was the day hurricane Lee was rolling in and the government had made a rule to keep everyone out of the beaches for safety. The ocean was rough with many rip tides. We wish we could have enjoyed swimming in the ocean! We enjoyed looking at though! It was the peferct place. My mom has some mobility issues and was getting overheated not being used to humidity or heat and didn't feel well so we went back to the ship. Joselis offered many places and ideas, places he could take us and show us things and help us in the shops, but she really needed to get back in to ship. The car was very clean and he had cold bottled water for us. He told us a lot about the city! We found out he wants to experience snow and being really cold! So Joeslis is you ever want to come to the US for a visit and snow, we would love to have you and show you around! we are 100% serious! Next time we stop here we will absolutely book with this company again.

We had the pleasure of taking a tour with Fermin and our experience was absolutely fantastic! The van was cool and spacious, and made travelling around SO much more comfortable. He had waters and sodas on hand and made sure that we were staying hydrated and were fully catered to. At every stop, he was attentive, and completely catered our experience to us. He even stopped by not one but TWO local grocery stores to let us look around and buy some snacks! Fermin loves his family and the entire tour felt like we were part of his family too. If we ever got stranded in the DR, I have no doubt that he would take us in and feed us like family. We got a VIP experience at every hot spot and he took lots of great photos of us! He helped us to navigate local vendors and stores and it felt very comforting to have him around navigating us. My only suggestion is to skip the Amber museum if you can. Seeing the Amber is very cool BUT the museum is like one big tourist sales trap and it felt a little uncomfortable with the museum staff trying to have us buy everything. Everything else was FANTASTIC!!! Thank YOU, Fermin. We loved our experience and would recommend this tour to everyone! Great value for money :)

Puerto Plata Owes us Nothing

We were on the MSC cruise and chose to book through Viator for this excursion. We were super nervous but decided to do it! We were not disappointed. Communication began well before the trip started. We were kept in a loop every step of the way. Our driver Fermin was outstanding he treated us like family even catering to our personal needs as I needed a beach hat and he took us to several stores and did all the talking for us. He was so knowledgeable and attentive. We enjoyed every bit of the experience. The only negative part of the tour was walking through Taino Bay to get to where Fermin was located. The taxi area is a little hike. Other than that book this tour! You won’t be disappointed!

My ship changed course due to Storm Franklin and those guys were dishonest. I tried to call them and the cruise ship to change the tour but never picked up! I even WhatsApp and they pretended to change and said they might refund but no response from them ! They stole 75 dollars from us ! I would trust them or Viator now !

Hello Lovena, I dont really know why you post this review if we were tell you that all details was the same even with the change of date and then I saw that you just cancell the tour, we didnt stole 75 dollars because we never get, you cancelled your reservation and Viator give you a full refund because we never get that money

Yeury provided clear instructions via WhatsApp a few days prior on how to find the person orchestrating the tour. Once we arrived to the cruise port I followed the instructions and was immediately connected with Fermin, our driver/tour guide for the day. Not only was he knowledgeable and full of fun facts, he was also extremely personable. He even fit in my request to stop at a local restaurant to grab something to eat (Le Cafè is delicious btw…get the beef. You won’t regret it). Overall, my family and I had a great time! I definitely know who to reach out to when I come back.

The tour with Aribel was just perfect, one of the highlights of our Caribbean Cruise as we managed to see in just a few hours the real side of Puerto Plata. Aribel was really friendly, courteous and accommodated all our needs and requests during our tour. I would really recommend him and this tour in particular to any other visitors of Puerto Plata... Aribel was amazing from the friendly greeting when he picked us up to showing us a local spot to eat good food. He showed us around puerto plata, taking us to the Rum factory, a museum, Umbrella street and pink street and a few other stops along the way. He also has amazing photograph skills. I would highly recommend this excursion!!
