Worth the money and time!
monica_p, Aug 2023
The hiking to the waterfall was a workout, but the cool waterfalls were worth the hike. It was absolutely beautiful! Our guides were all awesome and a shout out to Milton a new photographer who captured some great photos!

This tour is not for the faint of heart! There was a point where I questioned my decision to do this tour because I got scared from having to jump down. But the guides were wonderful and really took care of our safety. In the end it was a thrilling experience!!!
Unique experience. Natural stone slides within waterfalls!
Judy_H, July 2023
The guides did a great job instructing us how to go down the slides and waterfalls safely and were very fun and helpful. What a beautiful place! The water was a perfect temperature and there were mango trees at the top with ripe delicious mangos all over the place to eat. Amazing experience!
Good tour but not as advertised
Dawna_M, July 2023
The tour itself and guides were great, however after the tour they took us to shops and a cigar making demo which would have been fine if I had known. I only signed up for the actual tour because I wanted to get back quickly to meet family back at our ship. Viator should not add things into a tour that are not advertised. I chose the tour I did for the time constraints I had and did not appreciate getting back late.

Think Twice!
Nadia_Z, June 2023
The Edwin tour guide was perfectly nice, but we were so disappointed by this tour. Our group was 23 people in size but as soon as we arrived at the location, we were merged into a group of 60. There were three location guides with us, at least two of whom we expected to be high. The group stuck together for the rigorous hike but that meant that the front half had to stop every five minutes to wait for the others. When we got to the falls, chaos ensued. They had everyone jump in one at a time and huddle to one side, creating what I can only describe as an ant farm of people kicking each other to stay afloat. It was at this point we realized at least 1/3 of this group could not swim, including one employee who nearly drowned…. The chaos continued as we were shoved down rock slides (of note, we did not visit 7 waterfalls on this tour). Instead of keeping everyone moving, we moved as a herd of 60. Finally, about 10 of us had enough and left the group to began the hike to the entrance on our own. We were put back on the bus and brought to the cruise terminal with only 15 minutes to spare. We will certainly remember this tour!
Go for it!

We learned a bunch of stuff on the way up, it was practically a private tour. The activity was well organized. There was not too many people, it felt safe and we had a great time. The lunch was also a great addition after the long hike.
Just Do it!

Samuel with Edwin Tours was a wonderful guide, he was professional, kind, nice, funny and knowledgeable. He was also very encouraging. This excursion was fantastic. I booked it through Viator and really enjoyed the entire trip. I would definitely recommend wearing appropriate shoes to be more comfortable on land and in the water. If you don’t want to jump (I was too afraid) you can take a ladder down on one and slide down the others. The water temp was refreshing after being so hot from walking. Do this trip when you’re in Puerta Plata - it was great!
Exhilarating fun for the fit!

We had an amazing time on the tour. Our Guide, Papito, was great and the experience definitely exceeded our expectations. Would definitely recommend and do again when we come back
Laela and Gari, my super heroes!
Barb_R, May 2023
First of all, Laela and Gari were amazing! Laela became my best friend and Gari was my “Dominican Jet Ski” aka, my man’s! I can’t say enough about them! And on to the review of this adventure. When they say that it requires that people be physically fit (not insanely), they mean it. It is a lot of walking up stairs. My glutes are feeling it today! And, you should know how to swim. I do not, thus Gari being my saving Grace. You can jump off a high platform and into the water or go does a ladder into the water. There are natural slides that you go down. The water is nice, especially after your climb. I was really happy when it was over but mentally exhausted from anxiety. I don’t want to frighten anyone, thus my excellent rating for this trip. It was a once in a lifetime experience that I am glad that I had! Tip: 1) wear your own tennis shoes/ water shoes/sneakers. The ones that you can rent are not good, especially for all the walking you will do. 2) they provide life jackets and helmets. No need to worry about that. 3) if you take a phone for pictures, make sure that it is kept in something to keep it dry and securely fastened to you. I did not take mine with me at all. 4) if you see Laela or Gari, tell them that I said hi and that I will always be thankful for their kindness!
Great group and lots of fun!

Great guides to the waterfalls, be prepared to walk a hike up the mountains/stairs. Gari and Lila were very nice and made it fun for the whole group.
Waterfalls At Damajagua
Joel_W, Apr 2023
We went on the excursion with family; adults and children. The guides were amazing. They took really good care of everyone, ensuring we had bottled water before making our way to the waterfalls, the guides walked at a pace the majority of people were comfortable with, stopping along the way to allow people to rest, and after we arrived at the pools, they encouraged those who hesitated before taking a leap (into the pools), also they checked our helmets and life vests after we jumped into the pools. We had a lot of fun. The only downside, not enough waterfalls, due to lack of rainfall.
Great Excursion. Excellent service and communication
Susan_B, Apr 2023
Great excursion with excellent service and communication. Our party of 14 had a total blast! We ported in Tainos Bay on an MSC cruise, and had no problems finding the tour with PLENTY of time to get back to the ship. Do not have any hesitations booking this excursion! Also, wear good water shoes, bring a dry change of clothes, and bring your camera/phone in a waterproof case so you can take your own pics. All your other belongings have to say in the transportation van, but they lock it and we didn't have any problems.
Don’t book this!
Kristi_M, Apr 2023
I really regret booking this experience. After being picked up at the post, we were driven to the waterfalls. Once there, they brought us in and were handed to the waterfall guides. Then put into a groups of about 100 people with 3 guides. It took us way longer than the estimated time. So much standing around! Once in the water, we still had to constantly stand around ( at least an hour of just standing in cold water waiting and waiting). Twice, our guides told us to move to the side to let other groups go ahead of us! Everyone in our group was beyond mad. Worst excursion ever!

Amazing adventure! Slides and gorgeous natural waterfalls. They should separate small groups from bigger groups. We were stuck behind cruise ship group and there were only 4 of us.

Great adventure - must be brave and daring. Guides were entertaining and safety conscious. Included delicious lunch made the day.
Waterfall adventure!
Stacy_P, Apr 2023
The tour started on a nice, modern, air conditioned full size motor coach. The hardest part of the excursion is the hike up the mountain. You have to leave everything that you don’t want to get wet in your bag on the tour bus, so we literally walked up to start the hike in bathing suits and water shoes. The very rocky trail was tough on the feet in just thin water shoes so I would recommend finding more sturdy ones online before you go or wearing old tennis shoes. The hike takes about 45 minutes but the guides do stop periodically to let people rest. It’s definitely not a hike for anyone with health issues or the elderly or small children. The only disappointing part was that we only had four or five jumps/slides because as the bus tour guide explained, the climate has changed and it’s not as wet there, so the waterfalls aren’t as active. The ones we did, though were great and still took about 45 min to go through. After the hike we had a nice buffet lunch. And everybody working the excursion was extremely nice and friendly and fun.
