Fabio was our tour guide and he was excellent. I was so impressed that not only did he speak English and Spanish but also German. We had all three nationalities in our vehicle. He knew there was a cruise ship in town and took us through the tour backwards as to avoid the long lines. Unfortunately, the day we went it was very windy, so the cable cars were not running. But Fabio made up for it with all the personal tours through the stores and up and down umbrella Street. It was a fantastic day. The only complaint that I have is more of a warning. The description says you will get a lunch that is provided. You will not. Fabian was nice enough to bring some bags of chips for us to share in the vehicle. I saw this in another review, so I made sure we all ate breakfast before leaving the resort. We were fine by the time we got home, but we were very hungry at that point. There were opportunities for you to purchase on your own empanadas, ice cream and treats on umbrella Street though.

I wasn’t happy at all… I scheduled for 8 am… I had been communicating with the tour operator up until the night before the tour and then he calls and messages me saying that the pickup location and time was changing from 8 am to 9:30 because they had other people to pick up…That was a huge inconvenience because we had other plans and lost money because of the timing….No apologies or nothing so I definitely won’t be booking nor referring anyone else again!!!!!

It is unfortunate to hear this but when it is a shared activity we have to pick up more people and when they are not at the pick-up place we have to wait for them to get ready, in this case next time I recommend a VIP or private activity, that way we pick you up at the exact time and you would not have to go with other people.

City tour is worth it.

Loved the tour saw the fort and the cable car ride were awesome, our guide was very informative, i signed up for this specific tour as it said lunch was included and i wanted a real Dominican kind of lunch, but he informed us it no longer includes lunch, lunch takes too long and most cruise ship passengers want to see more and do more, and that made sense to us, but i wish i had known in advance so i could pack a snack? by the time we got back to resort lunch was over, but it was worth fitting in more to see and do , we went uptown and saw the chocolate factory and rum factory, and amber museum. We fit it a lot , and he picked us up right at hotel and dropped us off there too.

Benjamin, the guide was very nice, but we did not get what was promised from the booking. The tour said we would get a buffet lunch, but when we were on the tour we were told that they stopped doing lunch. We were not even given the option of purchasing lunch. Considering that we left our hotel at 8:30am & return @ 4pm, this was not acceptable. We contacted Victor and requested a partial refund, but we were denied.

Of the 3 excursions we did around puerto plata (snorkeling, atvs, city tour), the extensive city highlights tour was our favorite! Fabio was our guide and was excellent, very attentive to us at all times, and took many pictures for us too. We got the cable car up Mount Isabel de Torres, saw the tropical gardens there, Independence Park, San Felipe cathedral, San Felipe fort, Macorix rum factory tour, umbrella street, Paseo de Doña Blanca, and many shops too. We also got snacks, water, and rum along the way. Absolutely no complaints on anything! Excellent way to see the city!

Thoroughly enjoyed the Tour. Benjamin our guide was awesome. He serenaded us as he drove us through the streets of Puerto Plata . Umbrella street was beautiful. Pink street was " Pink " loved it. The Rum Factory was tasty. The food for lunch in the little Dominican cafe was so delicious. The best and most beautiful thing ever was the Gondola ride up the mountain to the Christ Statue. I would recommend Gillary Tours for your City Tour of Puerto Plata .

Santurino was an amazing tour guide! He provided us with detailed history and brought us to wonderful sites for us to take beautiful pictures that will last a lifetime. We also had a delicious lunch at an authentic Dominican restaurant. Would absolutely recommend!

The tour was nice. The cable cars were not working which made the tour a little disappointing. That was the main reason for the tour. I wish they had of told me this up front. The buffet was not good.

Abholung schlecht organisiert

Laut Buchungsbestätigung war als Startzeit der Tour 08:00 Uhr angegeben. Nachdem uns um 09:00 noch immer niemand abgeholt hat, haben wir nach telefonischer Rückfrage erfahren, dass wir um 09:45 Uhr an der Lobby unseres Hotels abgeholt werden würden, da vorher noch andere Gäste abzuholen seien. Als auch bis 10:30 Uhr niemand erschien, haben wir uns an die Rezeption mit der Bitte um einen Anruf bei dem Veranstalter gewandt. Dieser erklärte, wir würden innerhalb der nächsten 10 Minuten abgeholt werden. Um 11 Uhr riefen wir letztmalig an - tatsächlich kam 3 Minuten später ein privates Taxi, mit welchem wir alleine nach Puerto Plata zu unserer Reisegruppe gebracht wurden, welche die Tour bereits gestartet hatte. Auf Nachfrage, wieso wir erst so spät abgeholt wurden, teilte man uns mit, dass man daran nichts ändern könne, dies sei Sache des "Chefs", welcher in Santo Domingo sei. Dabei wurden wir trotz mehrere Nachfragen schlichtweg vergessen - eine Entschuldigung haben wir nicht erhalten. Laut Beschreibung sollte ein dominikanisches Mittagessen inklusive sein. Auf Nachfrage erhielten wir drei kleine Tüten Chips und Nüsse als Ausgleich. Die Besichtigungen der Stadt an sich waren sehr interessant. Als wir wieder zu unserem Hotel zurück gebracht wurden, saßen in unserem Taxi weitere Gäste unseres (!) Hotels. Diese teilten uns mit, dass sie am Tag vorher eine Nachricht mit der genauen Abholzeit erhalten haben. Demnach wurden diese um 09:35 (!!!) Uhr an der Lobby unseres Hotels abgeholt - zu dieser Zeit befanden auch wir uns bereits in der Lobby, um die Abholung um 09:45 Uhr nicht zu verpassen - da jedoch weder unser Name notiert / aufgerufen wurde, wussten wir nichts von der Abholung unseres Veranstalters. Wir werden über diesen Veranstalter keine weiteren Ausflüge mehr buchen.

Also die Tour war einfach grandios. Wir hatten das Glück eine Tour zu zweit mit unserem Augustin zu haben. Er war extrem informativ (auf Deutsch), witzig und so umsichtig. Er konnte so ziemlich jede Frage beantworten und wusste genau wann für welche Location die Beste Zeit fürs besichtigen ist. Jeder der sich Puerto Plata in jeder Facette ansehen möchte kann ich wärmstens die Tour mit Augustin empfehlen! Es war ein extrem schöner Tag
