    Judy_S, Nov 2022
Loved the boat crocodile adventure. Rainforest was beautiful but very strenuous walking down hill on deep steps.

Thank you for your review. The walking is listed as middle in the tour description and advise the steeps ups and down. Good you were able to finish it and enjoy the rain forest
    Lotsa Crocs
    Crystal_K, Nov 2022
Our crazy boat driver, Carlos, feeding the crocs chicken--thought he might lose an arm!! We saw lots of birds on the boat, also. Did not see many animals or birds in the Skywalk, but it was a beautiful, lush trail. Loved the swinging bridges.

The hike through the rain forest is exceptional- it’s beautiful, well maintained, and a great adventure. The Tarcoles River tour features close up encounters with crocodiles.

    Amazing trip
    Shaoyin_W, July 2022
The sky rain forest walk is so so. But the tour guide is good. He explained the country and city’s information during the bus ride and made the trip very interested. The best part of the is the river cruise. Lots of crocodiles and we even had chance to touch the big ones and hold the baby. It’s just a amazing experience.

    Excellent tour in Costa Rica
    Kris_K, May 2022
This tour was great! I have cruised many times but this is the first time I ever booked an independent shore excursion. This company and tour did not disappoint. The instructions said not to exit the pier and we would be picked up right outside the gangway. Didn’t see anyone so we walked to the port exit and the tour guide was waiting holding a board with my name in it. We loaded the van with only a group of 12. Drive was about 30 minutes. Stopped for the restroom before going to skywalk. After the skywalk, stopped for a fruit and juice snack before heading to the Tarcoles River. Loaded a boat and off to see the crocodiles. We were able to see lots of them. Another bathroom stop, and then because we had extra time, we stopped for lunch (so good…not included in price of tour) and then a place to do some shopping. Had us back to the ship in plenty of time. Better than any cruise ship shore excursion that I have ever taken.
    A great day!

My husband and I booked this tour before leaving on a cruise. Details of how and when to get to the pick-up point were provided by email. We had a small tour bus of about 15 people, and our guide was knowledgeable, entertaining, and accommodating. As well, the price was reasonable. The Skywalk is mostly downhill and not a hard walk but is over uneven terrain so might be a challenge for someone with mobility issues. Birds and crocodiles were observed on the river. Bottled water was provided, but it is good to bring your own as well as snacks though we did stop for a fruit break. As well, we had an opportunity to shop for souvenirs and coffee. Although we had been a bit worried about doing a non-cruise affiliated tour, we were very glad we did. Overall, a great tour and day.

    Nice experience
    David_H, Mar 2020
this combination tour gave a nice variety to exploring the land of Costa Rica. The bridges were a novel way of experiencing the rain forest. While we heard toucans, no birds or wildlife were seen. We saw several large crocodiles on the river. The guides knew exactly where to find them and even hand fed one. We were also able to see the crocs next to our boat.

    Good Tour, But ...
    broker121, Feb 2020
Rainforest and River Cruise were great. Then they took us on the city tour which consisted of driving up and down several streets and the guide pointing out restaurants and the gas station. We were not allowed to get off the bus and we never did see the cathedral. Next we went to a souvenir store where we spent about an hour. They made you get off the bus and locked it so you needed to go inside to avoid the heat. Tour would be much better if they just did the rainforest and the river and skipped the city tour and the shopping.

It showed us a glimpse of Costa Rica - the driver Eugenio and the guide Luis were superb compared to many of the guides we experienced in Central America, Luis was very knowledgeable, informative and clear in his explanations

    Rain in the Rainforest
    Beth_J, Dec 2019
We had bad weather unfortunately. But our tour guide, Miguel, did find umbrellas and most of us continued the skywalk in the rain. We were VERY wet. The river tour was less wet. It seemed very staged, but we did get to see the crocodiles up close. We did enjoy the tour overall. The pick up and drop off at the port was a long wait.
    Response from Host, Dec 2019
hello Thank you for your positive review, even the day was rainy. It is a situation out of our control but I´m glad our guide Miguel and the group have a nice aptitude and enjoy the day.
Excellent service provided by the guide. Got a chance to see crocodiles in the wild.
    Chun Sing C, Apr 2019
The captain of the boat knows where to find the crocodiles and had no problem bringing us very close to see them. He even attracted the crocodile to open its mouth by hitting the water with a piece of chicken leg. Well worth the money.

    Jim G, Apr 2018
This was a great mix of walking through the rainforest and a ride on the river. Even time for a little shopping at the end. It is important that anyone considering this tour be capable of walking a mile on some uneven and loose trail. Our group had a couple that really struggled and slowed up the group. Our guide, Miguel, was excellent and made this a very enjoyable experience. I really recommend this as an option to the cruise excursions offered by the cruiselines. Group was small - about 14 people. I highly recommend Greenway Tours.

Guide entered in water to feed crocodile, so we can see crocodile out of water. This was amazing. Good trip. Enjoyed throughly.

    AndreaE_M, Mar 2018
We chose this tour instead of the cruise ship offerings and were certainly not disappointed. We started with an interesting ride in our van through the Costa Rica countryside to the Tarcoles River. We transferred to a flat bottomed river boat where the local guides took over, searching out the prolific bird life as well as the American Crocodiles basking in the sun. We stopped to see one huge guy, about 18 feet long, which was an amazing sight but who is well fed by the guides so hes waiting for the encounter. From the river, we headed into the hills, stopping at a hotel the see what was supposed to look like a colonial village and to have a cold drink before setting out onto the skywalk through the forest. It was a very hot day so nothing was moving in the trees but crossing the hanging bridges was interesting especially since we had group members afraid of heights!. We hiked for about an hour before gratefully getting back on the air conditioned van. Our last unnecessary stop was to a highly over-priced and tourist trap for half an hour. Throughout, our guide kept up a running commentary that was very informative and interesting. He ranged from sights to hisory to current events. He was knowledgeable and friendly and definitely was an asset. Although there were a few blips during the day, I would definitely recommend this tour.

Forgot my tour guide's name. But! He was super. He made the flora and fauna interesting. Saw monkeys on the road to the rainforest. It was a fun roadside pause. The rainforest hike was delightful, the walking in the trees is just crossing 2 very long suspension bridges across and through the forest. Quite pleasant, actually. Did not see many birds or mammals. But it was a very enjoyable walk. Info about the insects, flowers and trees was fascinating. Tarcoles River was at low tide so we missed some of the chance to go farther and perhaps see more. However, there were several small crocodiles and lots of birds that we did enjoy. Our guide was loaded with info about the gators and birds. We stopped at a very classy souvenir shop...probably could have spent hours there, good thing our time was limited! When your stop in Costa Rica is short, this was a wonderful experience.

Oh wow! The most exceptional tour ever!! Highly recommended!! In fact, this tour was the biggest highlight for our 11 year old son. It was hands-on, up-close, incredibly informative, and wonderful in every way. We couldn't have asked for a better tour guide. Hopefully some of our many pictures will help you see how awesome we thought it was. Can't wait to go on more of your tours! Thank you Viator!!!!! 3

The tour company, Greenway Travels were great. Met on time, a very interesting tour, led by Alberto. Very enthusiastic and went out of way to ensure we saw wildlife. He went out of his way to ensure everyone had a great day. Recommend! Tour was meant to be 5hrs but in fact was nearer to 7hrs, ensuring that we saw everything his country could offer in the time.
