Amazing Night Hike!!!!!
Jen_A, Mar 2023
This was such an amazing time!! I have done a night hike multiple times in Costa Rica and this one was just as good as the others! The guides are so knowledgeable and are so sweet in trying to find a lot of animals and making the experience fun for all! I highly recommend this night hike to anyone. You’ll see a lot of unique wildlife and will walk away with amazing pictures!! 😊

Not a good night tour
Tara_F, Mar 2023
I do NOT recommend this tour by Efrain´s Nature Tours. The guides were not knowledgeable and did not have a particularly good eye for finding things. We found as much as they did. The group was too big. The tour is on the grounds of Espadilla Hotel which made paying an additional $10 entrance for this tour disappointing. The process for actually starting the tour took up too much time. The thing that bothered me the the most though was that one of the guides provided false information about some of the animals (e.g., he said banana spiders are the most venomous spider in the world - which they aren’t).
Response from Host, Mar 2023
Hi Tara, I'm very sorry that your guide did not meet your expectations. We perfectly understand that nature tours sometimes can be challeging about finding wildlife and that sometimes is not your day (in this case for the guide finding things), but we will talk to him for sure. Entrance fee is not included with the price of the tour due that any online travel agency you book with will take commision for the whole price, so this will make the final prices higher. Espadilla Private reserve, is a private project of conservation, so, entrance fee must be paid. About the spider, i asked to one of the most experience guides of the company, according to him, the context might be missundertood due that Banana Spider is a common name for many different species, but if we speak about the "Phoneutria fera", family Ctenidae, from South America, commonly know as banana spider, Guinness World Records considered it as the most venemous in the world. Relative and very similar species exist in Costa Rica. So, maybe the guide did not explain himself as well as he should. Feel welcome if you want to contat us about this topic. As well, our main director want to compensate your waiting time and unexpected entrance fee by refunding you the amount paid to get in this private reserve. Hope this helps. So, Please, reach us out as soon as possible. Best Regards, Front Desk Manager
A guide with passion and lots of knowledge!
martin_w, Jan 2023
We didnt see a lot of animals (mostly spiders and toads) but the guide made it interesting with his knowledge about them.
Response from Host, Jan 2023
Hi Martin, Thank you for your visit and for your feedback, without it, we could never improveour customer service. We hope you come back soon.
Absolute must
Kimberly_R, Jan 2023
We got to see the famous red eyed tree frog! Nightlife in the rainforest is a sight to see and Alan was the BEST guide. We booked the Spanish guided tour and he was so attentive and kind. Fantastic eyes for spotting things in the dark. He got excited with us when we saw some rare finds along the trail. Can't even list all the critters we saw that night.
Response from Host, Jan 2023
Thank you Kimberly, Allan defenitely loves his job, he is very enthusiastic and always happy to share his knowledge. We are very hppy to hear tht you enjoyed your time with Allan on our night jungle walk. Thank again.
Not worth the money
Kevin_O, Dec 2022
This night tour is done in some trails next to peoples houses and hotels. There were a couple of interesting bugs, but not worth the money (had to pay cash for "other park" which seems not to be official). Overall, it was not like the pictures and not what I expected.
Response from Host, Dec 2022
Hello Kevin, an apology for no meeting your expectations, i believe this was not the right tour for you, even that we took you like a private tour it was no what you expected. This tour takes place in a Private project of Conservation Named "Espadilla Reserve" this is why you have to pay entrance fee. No sure what do you mean saying official but this reserve is not belong to the park or the goverment neither. Trails and garden area you visited are part of the property which also has a hotel, there are no houses. We start walking from the hotel reception due that facilities are here and that this is where we cheack in. Unfortunately, not reading all tour description can cause that you book something diferent than expected, or that you can miss some info like the $10pp cash payment on arrival. We offer a wide range of activities, including night tours at diferent places, if you know what you want, for sure we have it for you. Thnk you Kevin for your visit.
Amazing time
Erika_S, Mar 2022
My friends and I had an amazing time with Martin! He found so many animals in such a short time and he helped us take amazing pictures. He provided transportation, water, and lights. Wear pants and close toed shoes. He had lots of animal and insect facts to share and we enjoyed the tour immensely.
Response from Host, Mar 2022
Thank you Erika. We are happy to hear from you how much you enjoyed out night tour. Martin is a passionated guide with a great background. Best Regards
Unique experience with an enthusiastic guide
Ashley_R, Mar 2022
My husband and I went on a tour with the most amazing guide, Geiner. We were picked up promptly at our airbnb and after a quick drive were headed off into the jungle. I couldn't believe that in just a few steps we had already found so much! Lizards, spiders, frogs, scorpions, tarantulas, deer, just to name a few. Geiner was such an enthusiastic guide and his love for nature and photography really added to our experience. This was a unique excursion and we would definitely do this again if we came back.
Response from Host, Mar 2022

Passionate and knowledgeable guide
Leon_H, Oct 2021
I absolutely recommend this tour. The guide is so passionate about nature and the animals living in the rain forest. At first we went to see some frogs and even spotted a little cayman. After that we entered the rain forest. The guides ability to spot some of those creatures is simply amazing. We saw baby deers hidden in the bushes, a lot of beautiful insects, a snake, a tiny scorpion and a big tarantula. 5 stars without a doubt.
Response from Host, Oct 2021

Descripción engañosa, excursión agridulce
Manuel_G, Oct 2022
Response from Host, Oct 2022
