Good and bad points
jayne_w, Mar 2023
This is a slightly mixed review, but the positives do out weigh the negatives. It started rather strange when we arrived at the meeting point and we were told our driver Ronnie was on his way, but this later descended into 2 men arguing over who would take us and telling us that Ronnie was not coming after all, as he had gone to a different port? This became more confusing as 1 man put on his boss to prove he was the right driver and we discussed our plans, although he didn't seem to know what we had planned? It was pouring with rain so in the end we accepted one of the drivers on the understanding we had paid everything in full and there would be no additional cost. He did also try and reduce the time to 3-4 hrs, but we refused as the booked tour was up to 6hrs, so he obliged. We were took to Camp Bay Beach as we requested, which was a beautiful almost deserted beach, very unspoilt with only 1 small shack style cafe. Cody tried his best to be a good guide, but just pointed out the things we were passing with no knowledge about the island etc., during our journey he spent most of the times making phone calls, wheeling and dealing with the driver, in the local language. This would not suit most people, as it was not professional, but we were happy to watch the scenery go by. We then went down to West Bay Beach, which took some time as we wanted to snorkel there, Cody did say that Camp Bay was much nicer and I did agree with him. I found West Bay crammed with people, commercialised and busy, and we had to pay to go onto the beach $15 each, which secured us a sun bed and a armed security guard watching our possession. We did not enjoy the snorkelling as it ended up being a big rush, with just over an hour at the beach. In hindsight just the one beach would have been better and more relaxing. The good points of the tour was the freedom to go where you want to go and for how long, so this out weighed the negatives of the confusion about who we were booked with.

Michael, our driver, made our day.
Samuel_G, Mar 2023
Michael, our driver, was the utmost courteous and helpful. We had a 6 year old with us and he was great with him. He was also very knowledgeable about the city and sites. It was quite enjoyable and highly recommend him. The sloths and monkeys were very fun and suggest to anyone who likes that sort of thing.

Magic Mike our driver was exceptional. Anything we wanted, he took care of it. Ice cold beer in a cooler in the van was a great start. We never had to worry about watching our personal belongings because he was never far away always watching. This allowed us the freedom to enjoy our beautiful day Roatan.
Great Guide

FYI we had to walk out of the port, which was probably around 3/4 of a mile to get to our car. Our guide was Garfield, and he was wonderful. He took us wherever we wanted to go and made recommendations. He helped us at every stop we made. We went to see the monkey and sloth sanctuary - the first one we went to had a 40 minute wait so he took us to another one where we walked right in. That was fabulous and cost about $15USD per person but was totally worth it for the sloth hug! Afterwards, we went to West Bay Beach - Garfield walked us to the area we wanted to snorkel and pointed out the way. He even helped us look for a chair/umbrella set up. The only con was the vehicle itself which was a minivan to accommodate our 6 person group plus driver. It was missing some door handles and some seatbelts didn’t work. The AC wasn’t great either so we opted to just put the windows down. Overall, it was an excellent trip and if you have a small group you may get a nicer car. FYI the snorkeling in West Bay Beach is awesome!!
No customizable at all.

We visited Roatan on a cruise and booked this trip hoping to see some natural places on the island and learn a but about the culture. We are also vegan so we made sure that the guide knew we didnt want to see animals in cages...We were taken to specific places that I am sure the guide was getting a bonus for bringing people too. The highest elevation on the island to get a "Picture", and of course it is set up like a flea market and you are encouraged to shop around which we were not interested in. We were then taken to a roadside animal show where most animals were in cages but many were free only to be exploited for taking tourist pictures. We then said we wanted to find a beach were we could go snorkeling. The driver said sure but we have to go by the chocolate facotry and the Rum cake shop. We informed him that Rum Cake surely would have dairy and eggs and would not be somewhere we want to go. He then showed us the beach where you can swim with dolphins and they were inside of a cage. When we reminded him that we were vegan and that is offensive to us, he acted like he didnt understand. He did let us go to a restaurant we wanted to visit and that was about the best part of the day. We really just wanted a beach at that time so he said there was a free beach he will take us too. He took us to a resort where we had to pay $20 each to go to the beach...WTH? He then said well the beach is free but its $20 to go to it. SMH he did tell us where to walk to go snorkeling and that was finally a good place. As we left we were admiring the hummingbirds and he said his wife has hummingbird feeders but he does cock fighting...SMH again.
Customized land tour was great!

Best way to see Roatan!
Jeanette_K, Mar 2023
Our tour guide was Garfield who is a native of Roatan. His personal knowledge of the island and it's history was a plus. Not adventure seeking seniors we provided him with a list of places and things to see and do that were of interest to us. He accommodated all our requests and added a few sights and a lot of information that made the tour more special. We had a great time.
Very thoughtful driver Jeff .
Jozef_S, Mar 2023
Our driver Jeff was already waiting for us. Took us places we asked for and on top of it took us places he recommended. It was very pleasant experience. At the end of the tour Jeff dropped us off at our port. We highly recommend Jeff to anyone. Next time we'll ask for Jeff.
Good way to get started
Richard_W, Mar 2023
Our guide Michael was very knowledgeable about the island. It was a good way to get a local meal and pick up some things at a grocery store. We requested a stop at the chocolate factory and the butterfly garden.
Highly recommend!!

Great experience touring the island and stopping at West Bay Beach. Our driver was waiting for us right on time and took good care of us.
A close up tour of Roatan Island.
Austin_C, Feb 2023
Jeff was our personal guide and he took us on a very interesting tour. He was born and raised on the island so his knowledge of the places and culture were very interesting. From the animal encounters to the best local restaurant he made our visit a memorable experience.
We had a fabulous time!...
Cary_S, Feb 2023
We had a fabulous time! Garfield offered world class service and went above beyond to ensure we had a great trip. This was our favorite excursion.
Wonderful day with a local guide Courtney
Kim_T, Feb 2023
Once we exited the port entry we saw someone waving a sign for Roatan Adventures and we we’re assigned our driver Courtney. He took us around town, and showed us all the best spots. We hugged a sloth, snorkeled on the west end, sampled rum and chocolate and had time to check out West Bay beach. We ate at a local spot on his suggestion and enjoyed fresh grilled jerk chicken and fried red snapper. (Make sure you ask for the specials.) We had a wonderful day and I would definitely recommend you also ask Courtney.
