What To Expect

From Rome, your day trip starts with a high-speed train trip to Naples, where you’ll meet your driver and transfer to a minivan for the drive to Positano. Journey along the Amalfi Coast Road, a winding stretch of road that provides panoramic views of the sparkling Mediterranean Sea. Pass by lemon groves and candy-colored villas while listening to narration about the area.

When you arrive in Positano, you have free time to wander around the village independently. Known as the ‘Jewel of the Amalfi Coast,’ this quintessential Italian Mediterranean village sits against the mountainside, boasting a spectacular location on the rocky shoreline. Perhaps take a walk along narrow lanes lined with shops, relax on the pebble beach, go swimming or enjoy a bite to eat or drink at a café.

Return to the minivan to continue your day trip to your second village, Amalfi, home to charming architecture and historical sights like Amalfi Cathedral, a 9th-century church in the main square. You have more free time here to explore on your own. Then make the drive back to Naples for the return train ride to Rome, where your day trip ends.

The underground of the Colosseum was very impressive and informative. The entire tour was packed with interesting sites and information. Esther did a marvelous job of adding to the information already presented. This tour was well worth the money.

Beautiful views!

Positano and Amalfi are absolutely beautiful!! The views are breathtaking and we had a delicious lunch in Positano. Our guide was very helpful and did a great job of making sure we got from place to place. There is a lot of travel involved and quite a bit of time spent in a van to get from Naples to Positano and then Amalfi, but the driver was very nice and we were really glad to have their help getting around. Overall, a wonderful experience!

From pick up to drop off our tour guide Mickiela (sp?) was great. She got us from Rome to the several stops along the coast in an informative and entertaining way. There was plenty of alone time away from the groups so this tour offered the best of a guide and self exploration. Great time!

If you are second guessing about going to the Amalfi Coast for a day, Go! We had a fabulous day with Anto seeing the beautiful and most unusual landscapes and vistas in Positano and Amalfi. We loved our lunch at La Zagara in Positano and the pictures and the memories made in this beautiful area of Italy. The train ride from Rome to Naples was fast and Antonio was an amazing driver on the narrow and windy roads. So go, you won’t be disappointed.

Good schedule. Only trip I could find to give you a good amount of time in Positano. Ferry is much more fun than doing the trip by bus. Just enough info from guide to get you on your way.

We appreciate your feedback! As a matter of fact, a train ride or a minivan are both options; nevertheless, ever since a municipal order in Amalfi was issued last month prohibiting or limiting access to touristic buses, we've been more preferably resorting to a direct train to Salerno. From there, ferries are used to move from one location to the next along the coast, which offers very nice views. The website description reflects just that now. Great tour! We used mostly to shop for our daughters and our yet-to-be-born granddaughter. Picked up some wonderful lemon candy, though we didn’t do the lemon ice. Lots of wonderful shops and plenty of good food. Our guide was very accommodating to such old folks as ourselves…

I really enjoyed walking around Amalfi coast with all the limoncello drink/snack options. The weather was amazing and the views. I prefer Positano because of the access to the water and less rocks.

Wish we could ride the train first class. 2-3 days trip would be nice.

The views when on the ferry where breathtaking! Amalfi and Positano, 2 hours stay in each town. Beautiful, busy and alive! Wish there was a 2-3 days stay, so we can enjoy the beach and thoroughly visit. All in all, still a very fun day trip. Alessandro, the guide, was very nice. Mind you, the time in both towns is by yourself. The guide is there to facilitate, transportation, train, make sure everybody is on board, and to give suggestions of what to day when in those towns.
