Unfortunately it’s a three hour trip both ways which leaves only about 2 1/2 hours in Positano.

I think the small group tour was the way to go since it would save you lots of time to get to Amalfi coast and back and things were handled much more efficiently

WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY

They called me the day before to confirm my pick up location. I confirmed my location and they texted me right after saying I should be ready by 6:30am outside for pick up. I waited over an hour. I even called their emergency line. No one answered. I texted the number no response. I still have yet heard from them to know what happened. Very unprofessional. Waste of time and money DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY.

Dear customer, we are sorry but your review is false. Our company contacts the customer one day before the tour with messages, telephone, information within the management system. The correct information is always the same for everyone: Our assistant meets you around 06.30-06.45 am the wait may vary from other customers who do not show up at the appointed time during the collection round. Our responsibility is not to leave any customer stranded. We checked with the minivan's GPS and you were picked up at 06.56 am This information is accurate and recorded. If you wanted a personalized service you could book the Private tour. Maybe it was too expensive for you? Your disappointment is out of place, our professionalism and seriousness are matched by all satisfied customers who contact us to congratulate us on the service offered. You only talked about the pickup in the morning but not about the rest of the tour, which is more important to classify a service offered. We are sure that the rest of the service was satisfactory and to your satisfaction, otherwise you would have wrote other reasons.

I had to book this tour twice. The first tour operated by City Wonders was cancelled without prior notice. We were literally abandoned at the meeting point with few options as our trip to Italy was completely booked. We finally managed to move this tour to a less convenient time after spending hours on the phone and computer. The latter tour operated by Viva Italy turned out well. Very nice people. The damage, however, caused by City Wonders was already made as we could have used that day for many other activities. In sum, avoid City Wonders if you can.

Romulo was the best Pompei guide anyone could ask for. He was thorough, knowledgeable, informative and had a great sense of humor. Best tour guide of Pompei!!! JB and Daniel were great as well and was on time to pick us up at our meeting point. They were so nice and JB was a great guide and Daniel was great driver. The tour started by getting Picked up directly at our Airbnb, there were a total of 6 people on our tour in a good sized van. The tour guide JB and our driver were fantastic. Took a couple hours to get to Pompeii where we met up with another guide, he was great!! After leaving Pompeii, we headed for the coast. It was incredible, you’ll be glad you have a driver!! We stopped and had wine and limoncello tastings. We then headed to positano, had lunch and walked around for an hour or so. Before we left to head back, we stopped for some photos.

Brilliant day - worth the time and money

What a brilliant day! We loved the convenience of the hotel pick up and drop off and the excellent air-conditioned minibus. Massimo the driver was professional and very courteous. The tour of Pompeii was amazing, Romelo, the local guide was exception. He was informative, friendly, funny and extremely interesting to listen to. He was thoughtful too, pausing in shady spots when he had a little more to say. He made sure we saw the best of what Pompeii has to offer giving us a real flavour of what life was like in Pompeii before the volcano. We enjoyed our visit to Positano and appreciated the stop to take photos. It certainly is a beautiful place and worth the addition to the Pompeii tour. Our guide for the day was great, JB was friendly and my teenagers enjoyed chatting to him. He ensured everything ran smoothly and to time. Thank you for a brilliant day

An excellent walking tour of the Vatican Museums

We had a very capable and knowledgeable guide. He knew just about everything thee is to know about the Vatican Museum. He maneuvered through difficult passages, prepared us well for the Sistine Chapel (talking is not is not permitted) and gave us good overview of the Basilica.

We (two of us) were pleasantly surprised to be the only people on our tour. We did join 7 other people for a private tour of Pompeii. Visiting Pompeii was amazing and heart wrenching. We then went to Positano for lunch, shopping and limoncello tasting. Our guide Dina was very knowledgeable, very personable, and entertaining. Our driver Max was also friendly and an expert at driving in crowded Rome as well as the winding roads on the Amalfi Coast. Dina made lunch reservations for us at a beach side restaurant in Positano. At our request, Max suggested a nearby restaurant in Rome for dinner and again Dina was gracious in volunteering to make our dinner reservations. This tour went from 6:30 am to 6:45 pm and was so very worth it! If you can request a tour guide and driver, we highly recommend Dina and Max.

Everything about the tour was first class. Our tour guide, Juliana was very nice, helpful, and knowledgeable, and the van was new and clean. Our first stop was Pompeii, about 2 hours south of Rome. Pompeii was very hot when we went, so be prepared. The tour was very interesting and well worth the heat and sun. The winding drive along the Amalfi Coast to Positano was amazing with views of the cliffs and islands along the coast. Positano is a beautiful quaint beach town, with excellent shopping and many small cafes. Be sure to try one of if the frozen lemon sorbets while in Positano. The return trip back to Rome takes about 3 hours. This tour is highly recommended.

We had a great time. There were 10 of us in total and we had two brand new vans for the trip. Our tour guide Alex was wonderful. She was very helpful, very informative, and always smiling. There was a lot of driving involved (2.5 hours each way) but the comfortable vans and many breaks made it manageable. I would recommend this trip to anyone. We had a lot of fun packed in to one day.

We booked late and not much else was available. The driver was ok. The english speaking tour guide was ok but not fully able to speak and understand English. The car was older and had some air conditioning issues on the way to Pompeii. Tour at Pompeii was with a rather old gentlemen that had trouble walking the ruins. He did not use any headphones this was hard to hear for our group of 12 people (they combined 2 vans with one tour guide at the ruins). We hit the highlights and it was very hot - probably ok for the amount of time we had). Positano is beautiful and the length of time was good given how crowded and hot it was. Stop for Limoncello and wine tasting was ok but I felt like it was a typical tourist trap with higher prices for limoncello, wine and chocolate. The tour picked us up timely and got us to see Pompeii and the Amalfi Coast which are all positive. I guess the tour is about a 2.5 star tour. A similar small group tour that we had taken from Cinqueterra and Pisa was awesome and probablybimoacted my rating.

Dear customer thank you for your review, however we would like to clarify the considerations you have made which are not correct. Our service is superior in quality and professionalism and your words of confirmation make us happy - as you have noticed, our staff is made up of valid people who are attentive to customer needs. The guide of Pompeii, Ettore is the flagship of the staff of guides in Pompeii. He speaks 4 languages perfectly and we find it hard to believe that he can't speak properly. Of Ettore we have only positive reviews. Headphones in Pompeii are mandatory from 15 people, you were 12 as you indicated, they weren't necessary. However if you had told Ettore he would have tried to satisfy your needs, Pompeii is an open ruin, the headphones sometimes do not work well because other surrounding noises also enter inside which can be annoying. For this reason we have decided to use them only when it is necessary or the customer requests it. Our tours are done with minivans to ensure maximum comfort on the roads of the Amalfi Coast, they are of the latest generation, euro 6, maximum 3 years. This is our standard. During the high season the suffocating heat of the Amalfi Coast is heavy for everyone, even for the vehicles. All our vehicles are equipped with automatic climate control to keep the temperature always at the same level and are activated when it drops below a set limit. If you have different habits I understand it but you can't say that the car has a problem if you don't know the automatic air conditioning systems. Postiano, like all the municipalities that are part of the Amalfi Coast, are fabulous and characteristic. It is not possible to compare tours in different locations because each place has its own characteristics. The Amalfi Coast is the most requested place during the summer, this creates many traffic and crowding problems. Wonderful Family Trip

Long but great tour. I travelled with my family of 6 (3 children). Driver was great and our guide Jibran (JB) was amazing. He was insightful, personable and helpful with all our kids strollers and bags and we did not feel rushed or stressed even when our 1 year old had a melt down on our drive back. Definitely worth the trip. Views on the coast are amazing but I would advise bringing nausea medication if you get carsick. JB was even able to get us reservations for a table of 6 at a great restaurant in Positano right on the beach facing the water 10ft from the sand. 10/10 experience.

Juliana was our private tour guide and accompanied us on our drive from Rome to Pompeii and the Amalfi coast. Juliana spoke excellent English and made the whole experience a lot of fun for our group of 7. Positani and the Amalfi coast are absolutely gorgeous and Julianna knew just the right spot for us to get some wonderful photos! Hector was our tour guide in Pompeii and he was amazing. There was so much to see and learn I could not have imagined experiencing Pompeii without a tour guide. This tour is a must if you are visiting Rome. Just make sure you pack an umbrella to shield you from the intense sun and pack lots of water to stay hydrated.
