Fabulous day trip from Rome

This was a fabulous day trip from Rome. It is a very long day (left at 6:45 am and didn't get back until close to 9 pm due to traffic on the return trip), but absolutely worth it for the experience. Pompeii is fascinating when explored with a knowledgeable guide (we had Romolo, who was amazing - see below for more info), but I expect if you went without a guide, you would not appreciate much of what you are seeing. The Amalfi coast is beautiful, though incredibly crowded. Our driver (Massimo) was skillful and made us feel safe at all times. Our host (Deena) educated us about the history of Italy, the 20 provinces, and local food/culture. Both took great care for our comfort, stopping at reststops along the long drive and maintaining their kind dispositions despite the traffic delays that made them have a very long day. We accepted Deena's offer to have lunch at a restaurant that partners with her tour company and were glad we did because it meant no waiting in lines and having lunch on the picturesque beach. The time in Amalfi is brief (about 2.5 hours, including lunch and the limoncello tasting), so set your expectations accordingly. We had about 40 minutes to shop and take photos after lunch, which is a bit rushed, but it was worth the trip to see this part of Italy. I highly recommend this tour! Pompeii guide: Romolo made our time in Pompeii both meaningful and entertaining. He had seemingly endless knowledge about the history of the city and the lifestyle of the people who lived there. He ensured we saw many highlights of this very large historical area. We are still marveling at the technology the ancient people of Pompeii engineered, but we wouldn't have appreciated any of these details without Romolo. We highly recommend Romolo as your guide for the day!

Amazing History and Breathtaking Views

This tour is definitely worth the long day and I highly recommend it. First of all, Jibran and our driver did an excellent job of getting us in an around all our stops, providing us with extra information and history. They even knew to pull into a restaurant first thing so we could grab coffee to go The Pompeii tour was so incredible, filled with amazing history and archaeological finds/excavations. The Pompeii ruins were so much bigger than I expected and it was humbling being in a city where life “had just stopped”. The Amalfi coast was breathtaking. We stopped at several vantage points to take photos and even saw a vendor with lemons the size of small melons. Winding our way down the narrow roads to the beach restaurant was lots of fun and we had an amazing lunch at a beachside restaurant. Definitely a day worth remembering.

They were on time and our guide and driver were very friendly and helpful. They made sure we were comfortable during the long trip and they gave us good tips. We learned a lot from Guiliana about Positano and she took very good pictures. The drive was comfortable. It was a good tour but I wish the guided tour in Pompeii would allow pictures to be taken even for a few seconds. Pictures are still good souvenirs even if we get to know the facts

This was a great tour. The first portion in Pompei was amazing to see the GrecoRoman influences in a civilization that is ancient but so modern at the same time and we loved our guide Luca, he was so funny. Also in Amalfi the incredible sites and food. Positano was so so beautiful and we loved our guide Pedro as well. Even though was raining everything very stunning!!!

We started the day early and were off to a good start. Unfortunately there was an accident and it delayed our trip to Pompeii & the Amalfi coast by 2 hours. Our guide Antionette and driver Pietro were wonderful! The situation was out of their control but they made the best of it. Such a wonderful day and a great day to break up Rome! We did this on our first full day in Rome (husband and I, kids aged 17 & 15), so not all of the family thought it was a good idea to schedule such a long activity when we had just arrived. Everyone loved it! Our guide Fabio and driver were awesome. They picked us up at our flat in a very comfortable, nice van. We were a little concerned about the early hour and not having had a chance to find coffee before pick up, but they stopped on the way and we picked up a quick breakfast. The first half of the day was the tour of Pompeii. Our guide was Romolo and we loved him. He was very nice and personable and we learned a lot about Pompeii and enjoyed the two hour tour. We drove from Pompeii over to the Amalfi Coast and Fabio arranged a place for us to have lunch in Positano. The drive was spectacular and we were happy to have the help finding a great lunch spot. We also had some time for a bit of shopping and limoncello tasting before the return drive. Overall, there was a lot of driving and it was a long day, but since we were the passengers it was actually relaxing and a perfect start to our Italian vacation. It was more expensive to do this day privately, but I wouldn't change a thing.

Amazing Amalfi with Alex & Arthur!

We had a wonderful time seeing the Amalfi coastline with Alex and our driver Arthur. Alex had so much knowledge of the towns and history and made our day magical. Our tour guide at Pompeii (Daniel a 4th generation guide) was so well informed and it was a pleasure to hear not only the history of Pompeii but of his family as well. We would highly recommend this tour as a MUST DO for the day!

Our whole day spent with Pedro & Costantino was magical!! From the time they picked us up at our Airbnb to the time they returned us, we felt safe, entertained, and like we were with family. At Pompeii, Paulo gave us an excellent tour! He was very knowledgeable. He made Pompeii come alive for us!
