Francesca did an amazing job with this tour! It was truly the best tour we took on all 18 days of our trip. The museum limits each visitor to two hours of time in the Borghese and right from the time we met her outside the museum until the end of our tour, Francesca's timing and descriptions of all of the artworks were impeccable. She wove a tapestry of stories about the artists, their patrons, the nuances of each piece of art and managed to take us into rooms that were empty because she had mastered the flow of visitor traffic and bypassed it. We were enthralled and enriched by her passion, lively narration, and seemingly unending knowledge of the history of the Borghese Gallery and the masterpieces contained within. We truly can not recommend this tour highly enough with Francesca from Joy of Rome! Excellent!!!

Words cannot describe our private tour of the Borghese Gallery. Francesca, with great warmth, wisdom, passion, and joy, brought the museum to life for us. A Very Beautiful Walk Through the Borghese Gallery

My experience in touring museums has taught me that the viewing of some of the world's most beautiful paintings and sculptures without a knowledgeable guide by your side is missing a real opportunity. While one can initially view a particular work of art which captures one moment in time, admire the beauty and incredible talent it took to create it, it is only through the explanation by a very knowledgeable tour guide that the work truly comes alive. These works tell the story of what you see or at least think you see in that moment of time portrayed in the work of art. However, without a knowledgeable guide, you miss a description of what you likely wouldn't know or see about the artist who created the work and the subjects portrayed. My excellent tour guide brought these stories of the most important works to me so that I could appreciate them in a way that I could never experience without my guide.

My wife and I had the truly wonderful experience of being toured around the Borghese Gallery and Museum in Rome by Francesca of the Joy of Rome group. Francesca is a university professor in art history and knows a tremendous amount about the Museum and its artists, including Bernini and Caravaggio. It was a rare opportunity to have Francesca lead us through the Museum and provide an always amusing and deeply insightful running commentary regarding the artists, their works and their patrons and the real life collision of these forces in Renaissance Italy. She had something insightful and often surprising to say about the works and the Museum itself. Francesca is also personally very warm and energetic and super fun to be with. We just finished 8 days in Rome and our tour with Francesca was easily the highlight of our trip. We loved our experience with her and you will too.

We have been to Borghese Gallery many times before and with guides. The guide Francesca Pogliaro was the best guide ever. Punctual, an art historian and so full of fabulous information. Her enthusiasm was infectious. She knew and explained details about the works and the background surrounding the creation of the works and the history... Just very impressive. Ero già stata altre volte alla Galleria, ma questa era la mia prima visita alla Borghese con una guida privata (e non una guida qualsiasi: una dottoressa in iconografia). Francesca ci ha rapiti con la sua preparazione e la sua dialettica, un tour di 2 ore volato via in un battito di ciglia, alla fine del museo la voglia di ricominciare da capo come un giro sulla tua giostra preferita. Ho amato non solo l’approccio completo all’ opera (storico, tecnico, emozionale), ma anche l’attenzione nei confronti del visitatore non del mestiere. Una Daverio della mia generazione, capace di farmi stupire di nuovo davanti a opere conosciutissime e meno. Segnalo anche la maestria nel giostrarsi tra opere di tutte le epoche, dal 500 ai giorni odierni. Un investimento per la propria anima.
