Meet in front of the entrance to Vyta Roma Termini Café inside Termini train station. If you come in the entrance at the intersection of Via Marsala and Via Marghera, Vyta Roma Termini Café is the very first cafe on the righthand side. Your guide will be holding a Walks sign.

What To Expect

Make your way to the centrally-located Roma Termini railway station, where you meet your guide for an early morning departure.

The first stop of the day is Positano, a fishing town-turned resort that’s a favorite for celebrity beach vacations and romantic getaways. Get your bearings in the picture-perfect village on a guided tour, then enjoy free time in Positano: browse elegant boutiques, have leather sandals custom made by a local craftsman, visit a seaside café for lunch, or slip into the water for a swim.

Meet back up with the group, then board a boat for a ride down the coast to Amalfi town, passing along one of the most spectacular sections of the coast. Keep your camera out to capture views of soaring sea cliffs, then return to shore at Amalfi. Continue to a lemon orchard that’s perched high on a cliff above Amalfi, where you sample limoncello, a sweet, tangy liqueur made with locally-grown lemons.

Following the tasting, you have time to explore the town on your own before meeting back at the boat for the cruise to Salerno. Upon arrival in Salerno, board a high-speed train for the trip back to Rome, where this full-day tour concludes at the Roma Termini railway station.

Starting May 2, 2023 due to construction at the the port area, we will not always be able to stop in Positano on this tour. In the event that we cannot dock in Positano, we will sail past for a scenic view and photos and then stop in another nearby town along the Amalfi Coast to explore on land.

For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.

It was a perfect day. I would highly recommend this trip if you want to see a beautiful coast and lovely villages. Trip was well organized, our guide, Sabina was absolutely wonderful with her energy, knowledge and concerns for all passengers. I liked the small group size of 12.

Difficult travel day

We took a high speed train from Rome to Salerno. Unfortunately we did not have seats together on the train. We took the ferry to the town of Amalfi, and visited the lemon farm which was a steep climb but worth it. We then took another ferry to Positano where the weather turned bad - rain and wind. Due to the conditions they stopped the ferry service so we could not get back to Salerno. We had to take three different buses to get back to Rome. We were supposed to get back around 8:30 pm and didn’t arrive until 1:30 am. Difficult travel day due to the weather. Our guide did his best to get us back to Rome.

Ferry experience NOT small group on a boat

This is a guide through public transport. The “boat” is a public ferry bus which is so crowded you have you push your way through with your group of 20+ people. The only highlights is the tour guides are nice people. This is a misleading title. This tour is not a “boat” experience unless you count ferries with a ton of people

Our guide Mauro was the absolute best! He was thoughtful of the whole group, making sure we were all accounted for and was having a great time. Very knowledgeable as well! To top it off at the end of the trip he asked where we're going next or how many days we had left in Rome. We are going to Florence so he airdropped up a big list of his favorite things to do and places to eat!! He went above and beyond.

Wasn't worth it

We were really looking forward to seeing the Amalfi coast. This was the most expensive tour we booked and sounded like fun. Several factors beyond the tour companies control made it less so. We found out Positano was working on the dock and closed it to boats. The tour company was going to substitute another small town. Then our train left late, getting to Solerno late meant we missed the ferry. We had to wait 30 minutes for the next ferry. Getting to Amalfi late meant they cancelled going to the small town. We did the lemon farm tour with lemoncello tasting which was the best part of the tour. Then everyone was supposed to go on a cruise up and down the coast for an hour followed by 1 hour of free time in Amalfi. We opted out of the cruise and spent two hours eating a nice lunch and shopping. When the cruise returned the people were rushed to get a cone of fried seafood. After our time was up we took the ferry back to Solerno and had to kill an hour around the train station. Not sight seeing or anything. This all meant we had a train trip out and back for a lemon farm tour and two hours in Amalfi. It wasn't worth it to us.

This was great day. We took a train to Salerno and from there took ferries. The first to the lovely town of Amalfi, where we visited a lemon grove overlooking the town, beaches and water. The second to the breath taking Positano. Had a magnificent lunch by the ocean. Nice to break from the cities.

After booking this tour and looking forward to a year planned trip, I became very ill the eve before. We contacted immediately and let them know. They will not give refund nor credit. We used company for other tours also. We heard on our flight home also due to weather that some boat tours were cancelled. Very unhappy with the situation and we lost out on $457 which was a special tour for my 70th Birthday.

Even though we had some bad weather the trip was still amazing. The lemon orchard experience was well worth it. Our tour guide Chiara was fantastic she had much to tell us about all the towns and even gave us suggestions on where to eat and see. We highly recommend this tour. The day seemed to go by too fast wish it was longer.

We had such a wonderful experience on this excursion. The tour guides spoke English as well as other languages, they're knew all the best spots to go and have a meal as well as local historic facts. Eileen was our excellent Tour Guide, she made us feel safe and well informed as we went along our trek. We stared in Rome to Salerno on the speed train (great way to travel to other cities) on arrival we beelined it to the ferry which took us to the town of Amalfi. Amalfi is a beautiful little town; keep in mind you'll do a lot of walking. Amalfi is known for its lemons and Limoncello so don't miss the tasting or the lemon ice. After a fair amount of time we went again by Ferry to the town of Positano, along the way viewing the beautiful, amazing Amalfi coastline. The town Positano was also amazingly beautiful but beware there is a lot of steep walking up and down the streets. It was truly a well worth bucket list item, we were thrilled with this excursion.

What a fun and memorable day! The scenery is spectacular and the tour of the lemon orchard was a highlight. We were fortunate enough to be there when they were ready to harvest the lemons and of course, we loved the limoncello made right there!

Rethink this tour during high season

Our guide Eileen did an exceptional job after scheduled guide was unavailable. But it was too many people for her to handle. Tour should have been cancelled with double the tour numbers promised us Tasting was fine, but close to 200 steps to get there. Both cities too crowded to enjoy. Leaving Positano on ferry with tourists crushing to get on board was dangerous and scary. Not a fun day. Do appreciate the refund, but can’t recommend.

Amazing experience. Our guide, Eileen, was a delight. The lemon farm and limoncello tasting are absolutely worth the steps to get there, it was delicious and the view is breathtaking. Eat the lemon peel! We had a wonderful lunch in Positano at Buca di Bacco. Overall, a fun and very full day. Highly recommend.

Amalfi Coast is beautiful and historic. The lemon farm tour was delightful (lots of steps to get up to it). The problem was with the logistics of getting on/off the ferries. It was a mad house and an absolute panic for me. I was worried I would be crushed by the crowd. A fight broke out next to me because two people were jockeying for position. I cried the whole way back. If it weren’t for that terrible disorder, it would have been a very good day.

Great tour if weather is good

This would have been an excellent tour. Federico was an excellent guide. However, we had heavy rain on the day of our tour. We were able to take the first ferry ride to Amalfi but the water was so rough lots of folks were getting sick. The ports closed & we were not able to go further to Positano on the boat & for some reason that the buses could only go one way which was back to Sorrento and not further to Positano. Therefore we stayed all day in Amalfi. Over four hours in heavy, cold rain way was too long to spend in Amalfi. Also, we were only able to go part of the way up to the lemon farm due to rain so we didn’t get to see the view from above. There isn’t enough shopping or other things to do besides eat to spend an entire day there on a day tour. The views on the bus ride back to Sorrento were beautiful. However, we only got 1/2 of our trip over the entire duration of the tour time which was disappointing. Positano was what we really wanted to see not to mention all the sea views as well. This was not the fault of the tour or the guides. It was just bad luck with weather. Anyway, I would watch the forecast and if there was a strong chance of rain I would cancel or reschedule to another day because it really is not worth it in hard rains especially if you don’t get to do the boat rides for the views. We did not have the option to reschedule since we had booked it at the end of or vacation stay so we had no other days left to do it. In beautiful weather, this would be an outstanding tour.
