Explore Rome as if you were in a classic Italian film on this sightseeing tour by vintage Fiat 500. Following a knowledgeable guide, you’ll drive yourself through the Eternal City in your own Easter egg–colored Fiat, cruising down lanes that are often inaccessible to larger autos. What To Expect

Your tour starts in central Rome, where you’ll meet your guide and be paired with your vintage candy-colored Fiat 500, also known as a Cinquecento. Introduced in the 1950s as a fashionable, affordable mode of transport, the Fiat 500 continues to evoke thoughts of dreamy days cruising around Italy in style.

Hop behind the wheel, and listen to a quick briefing about safety and the nuances of operating the Fiat’s manual controls. Then take off in a colorful caravan, following your guide’s car along some of Rome’s quieter roads. Open the soft-top roof to enjoy the sun and fresh air as you drive down charming streets to see some of Rome's top landmarks, like Circus Maximus, the Colosseum, Arch of Constantine and the Mouth of Truth. Take breaks occasionally for photo ops and to hear interesting tidbits about the city from your guide.

In addition to recognizable attractions, venture to lesser-known sights along roads that may be inaccessible to bigger vehicles. Such gems may include the Garden of Oranges, Aventine Keyhole, Piazza dei Cavalieri di Malta (Piazza of the Knights of Malta) and the lively Trastevere neighborhood. You’ll also stop for gelato or coffee (own expense) before your tour ends upon return to the starting point.

Please note: The Fiat 500 is small in comparison to most modern-day cars, so with comfort in mind, bookings are allowed for a maximum of three adults per car (or two adults and two children). If you have a bigger group, that’s okay! Up to 10 people can book at a time, and you’ll be split into separate Fiats.

We were lucky enough to be the only members of our tour. Having a private tour with Alexis was such a special treat. His knowledge of history really made Rome's monuments and neighborhoods come alive. This, coupled with the smiles and waves we received while driving in our little pink easter egg , made the tour so special. This was a once in a lifetime experience that you don't want to miss!

Wow! What an amazing experience driving through the streets of Rome in a vintage Fiat! Highly highly recommended. Our family of 5 booked this trip for two vehicles. One of our drivers was not as experienced at driving stick as was necessary, but thanks to our wonderful tour host, Alex, this was not an issue. Alex was able to drive two of us and conduct the tour while the rest of us followed in a second car. This was a thrilling ride through the city of Rome with plenty of stops for photo opps at so many historic locations, and it was made most enjoyable by our fantastic tour guide Alex. He was so helpful taking photos of our party and with his intricate knowledge of the city. Five stars out of five experience. One my family will never forget. Thanks so much for a wonderful time!!!

This experience is amazing! We were luck today to have Max who I can only describe as an energetic, knowledgable and passionate man. It was only myself and my husband on this experience but he was great! We are British so wish we were more gushy for him as he really deserved it. If you want to not see the obvious sites of Rome then this is the trip for you! It’s amazing and Max is a credit.

Amazing experience, it was underestimated the kind of feeling of doing this trip on the past, on board of an iconic 500, discover spots of Rome, that every tourist misses, our guide Max, love Rome, and love his job, his smile and enthusiasm was transpiring in every word, anecdotes and experiences he shared with us, this is the best experience we had in Rome, don’t miss the opportunity to do it, it’s really memorable. If a Vespa wasn’t available during William Wyler masterpiece of Roman holidays, I’m pretty sure he would have used a 500 :)

It was a lovely time. Our tour guide was friendly and funny. I could listen to our guide all day. He was so nice to guide us, and how to use the car. Me and my partner loved it. He was so excited to drive a Fiat 500. If I ever come back to rome i would do it again with other people. it was worth the money. For someone who has never been to rome before, I loved the story and information.

This was a great way to see some of the attractions on the outskirts of Rome. Alessio was a fantastic guide and was really accommodating with a later time as we had a very short window to do this tour in. He also took some really fun pictures of us in our Fiat 500. The highlight for my son was the lesson on Rome water fountains which was very entertaining when he told our guide 'Thanks for teaching me the finger!'

The ONLY way to see Rome in such a novel, fun way! We went to the wrong departure location (our mistake) and were very kindly brought in a taxi by one of the organisers who happened to come along and see us. Top class service!! Our guide, Alex, was exceptional….knowledgeable, passionate and above all, fun. This tour was the highlight of our Rome trip and one we will remember fondly forever. Book it!

Maximillian was an absolutely fantastic guide for this adventure in Rome. Right on time and created a drive in our little pink Fiat that allowed us to see some sights not seen before, navigated us through the tiny back streets, and had us smiling the whole time. Total value for the money as an 'experience' outside of the normal tourist stuff - highly recommend Rome 500 and Maximillian!

This was definitely a highlight of our trip in Rome! Such a unique experience and it was a blast. We were unsure if we could us our US driver licenses at first but we could. The guide was excellent and brought a great energy and excitement that added to the joy of driving around in Fiats. And it's true - people do look at you, take pictures, and it immediately makes people smile to see you driving around in these. Would absolutely do it again! Great fun.

I made my husband a birthday gift and our car was made the same year he was born. The tour was much better than I expected. The places we visited were interesting and some of them we had not visited before. As the traffic of Rome was not easy but our guide Georgio handled us and the traffic very safely. He is very polite and his talking about the places we visited was concrete and interesting. His English language is good.

This tour wasn't what we expected - it was 100% better! We thought we'd drive around, see the Colesseum etc etc but what this tour does is take you to all the amazing parts of Rome you probably didn't know existed! Our tour guide Giorgio was so passionate, knowledgeable and funny, he was great! He was also a super conscientious driver; there were a couple of times at the start where we stalled the car and he always pulled over a bit so we could catch up- not easy on the busy streets of Rome! Wow. We had a group of 9, took 4 cars and the lead car, so a 5 car caravan. 100% the best time we had in Italy. This is an absolute must book for anyone looking for something out of the ordinary. And the guys who run this, really fun guys. Great, great time. A+++.
