Entry ticket NOT tour
Desha_C, Sept 2023
We had a very dificult time finding the meeting point. There was no signs and the instructions on the app only gave an address that no one seem to know where it was. Give yourself extra time to find the meeting point. Also, I sent the message on the but got no response. It took 40 minutes to find someone from Viator!!
We finally found a tour guide from Viator that got us in.
This is not a tour, as we were given tickets and were left to go off on our own.
Save yourself time from waiting in line.
Josh_B, Aug 2023
The normal line was over 5 hours of waiting in the heat. With this service you show your reservation at the shop a few hundred meters away. Then their guide takes you right into the museum.
Great experience once you...

Disorganized
Tracy_M, July 2023
Very disorganized. Long wait time. Actual Sistine chapel and museums were amazing once we actually got in there
Exactly what we wanted
Daniel_C, July 2023
If you just want skip the line tickets to do your own thing (Like we wanted) with no tour, this is for you! Be warned the meeting point is a bit confusing, its at an office half a block away from the Vatican.
Only purchase skip the line tickets!
JEANETTE_B, July 2023
Skip the line tickets is the way to go. That’s literally what happens but take an early time slot. Late risers might be in line with other skip the line purchasers. Not fun on a hot day. We purchased the 8:45am time slot and had no other “skip the line” ticket holder in front of us.
Worth Every Cent!
Karina_R, July 2023
We knew Rome in June was going to be both hot and crowded, so we looked for a ticket that would skip the line but give us the freedom to explore on our own. This experience was exactly what we were looking for. We met at the Viator meeting point in Rome and once the entire party was gathered, a young guide walked us to the entrance. She told us to wait until she went to print our tickets and then proceeded to give them to each of us and pointed to the entrance. The entire process took less than hour. In fact, the longest part was waiting at the meeting point. This skip the line ticket was worth every penny and saved us hours of waiting. In addition, before she dismissed us, the guide told us how to ensure that we went to the Basilica instead of the exit. We spent the entire day at the Vatican without the constraints of a timed tour. The only hiccup was that our time was changed to a later time. We were scheduled for 9:30 am and were moved to 11:00 am. I was informed a month in advanced, so I was able to prepare.
Worth it

The tour company through Viator was super easy to find and made the entrance into the Vatican way smooth. Was a great to do the tour our own. We did purchase the audio guides once we got inside amd highly recommend if doing on your own.
DO NOT COME TO ITALY UNLESS DEAD OF WINTER!!!
Glenn_J, June 2023
The Sistine Chapel is magnificent no doubt—but “skipping the line” does not skip the thousands of tourists being herded through the museum like a cattle call. Once in the chapel you are barked at by security guards to keep pressing even closer together so they can squeeze in even more people. My worst nightmare for traveling thousands of miles to view great art. STAY AWAY FROM ITALY IN ANYTHING BUT COLD WINTER MONTHS!! Aside from a few museums and the ruins Rome is a gritty dirty city
Response from Host, June 2023
Dear Glenn,
when you buy the skip the line tickets you skip the line and go inside directly at the time you bought, so you skip hours of line near the wall of the museum. We are in hight season so inside the meusem may can be crowded. Once inside the museum you can't skip other line. The Sistin Chapel is the most important thing inside the museum so a lot of people come to see.
Thank you

Average experience

Be prepared to walk alot and if its summer, it will be warm, as most parts of the tour are not air-conditioned. If you use Viator.com, the description of where to meet the tour is not good at all. We stood on the street for a while waiting for the tour guide to show up, and then realized we needed to check-in inside, but that was never told to us. All in all, not impressed with Viator.com at all...
Busy and hot !
patricia_c, June 2023
Collection of the ticket and the guidance into the Vatican was great. The ‘Skip the Line ‘ ticket was certainly worth paying extra for. However I did not enjoy the overall experience due to the fact it was very busy inside , hot and claustrophobic. I was so glad to get out of there ! Just my experience though. I would recommend going as early as possible to beat the crowds. This would be a much better experience. (I visited at 10.45)
Skip the line ticket but waited hours to get in due to company mistake.
Michael_B, June 2023
Paid for a skip the line ticket just to sit in the museum lobby and not be able to get in for over an hour. Had to rush through after we finally got in as the museum was about to close for the night. Waste of money.
Viator third-party tour...
Alexandra_R, June 2023
Viator third-party tour guide met us promptly at our tour time and we went straight to the front of the line. I can’t imagine seeing the Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel without this ticket! Viator made the process so easy. We would have waited for hours without it.
Shocking
Emma_H, June 2023
Awful experience weren't allowed in as we hadn't booked the whole tour! Yet our booking was confirmed in viator just for the sistine chapel. Guides then tried to charge us 170 euros for the whole tour as if they were doing us a favour!
Egh it got us in but not worth the mark up cost
angela_a, June 2023
Definitely a scam, just book your tickets month in advance on the actual website and your fine. I only went with this your place because I couldn’t find tickets online anymore. The trust cost for a family is 60 Euros. They charge an extra hundred dollars to “skip the line” which the waiting around was the same time you could have just waited online. Our tour was 3:15 and we arrived at 3:15 which was my fault we should have arrived 20 minutes early. They charged 40 euros for us to rebook another rip off. Overall spent $200 for a family of 4 to just be walked in. But the entire wait time to be walked in was over an hour anyways just waiting for them to “print” our tickets.

We had a lovely time at the Vatican. However, our experience with Viator was disappointing. When we reached the Vatican, our guides discovered she had brought one ticket too few for the whole group. So our party of 7 had to wait for 30 minutes while a guide retrieved another ticket. Once we finally got our ticket, we had to wait another 10 minutes to enter, as the guards said we were now past our allotted entrance time. So finally 40 minutes after the rest of the group entered, we were able to. Viator returned 25 euro to us, a small token for the amount we paid for 7 tickets to "skip the line" to be able to enter quickly.
Use GetYourGuide instead.
Chad_D, June 2023
Use GetYourGuide or someone else. We waited at storefront until they gathered us in a very in organized manor. Then they lost part of our group on the walk. The they did not have a credit card to pay for our tickets. We did not get in until 45 minutes after our scheduled time.
Disorganized
Reid_S, June 2023
We arrived a 1/2 hour early, they told us Late arrivals would not be allowed. We were late getting in because we were waiting on late arrivals. They were also disorganized as far as having a count of people
scam
Chrismon_C, May 2023
The tour guide never showed up. We waited for 30 minutes at the meeting spot and no one ever came. We even asked all the other companies where this tour guide office/ meeting spot was and they said that they had never heard of this company and that we were in the right place, but no sign of a tour. This left two young girls in a sketchy area with no mode of transportation back to central Rome.
Terrible Tour
Sophia_L, May 2023
This was a terrible experience. We couldn't find the office to check in for the tour. The people running it were very unorganized and started 20 minutes late. When we went into the Vatican there were so many people you couldn't even move through the rooms. We tried to see some things but it took us almost an hour of not moving and we left. My dream was to see the Sistine Chapel, but never made it. Guides need to be more aware of their surroundings and let the flow of traffic continue. 10 days in Italy and this was the worst experience, the only bad experience.
