While the Vatican Museums are equipped with elevators for wheelchair access, they are not conveniently located on the group tour route and only give access to specific sections of the Museums. As a result, we cannot accommodate wheelchairs on this tour.

This was well organized and we didn’t have to wait too long and got ahead of large crowds. Our guide Carlotta was fantastic. Great knowledge and well trained. A gentle and respectful soul. She moved things along and yet gave us time to observe.

It was a nice tour. As you can imagine, the place is super busy. Early entry for a little extra money is definitely worth it. The tour guide - Francesca was very knowledgeable and passionate about her job. Would recommend.

I loved the tour because the breakfast place was right next door to the tour agency and it was just a yummy warm croissant and a coffee to get your day started! Then we walked up the street to the Vatican wall entrance while our guide Semeli provided us upcoming details of our tour. She was very thorough in sharing how the process would work once inside and also allowed ample time to see the various statues and pieces of art. It was great that we got to take the short cut into St. Peter's Basilica, as the line outside for those who did not have that tour guide access was extremely long and it was very hot outside. We went directly from the Sistine Chapel and then down a corridor and into the entrance of St.Peter's. The Basilica was definitely worth it, with all the frescoes and the famous Pietra sculpture by Michelangelo. I also loved seeing the body of the Pope who had passed away. The only part I would have liked to see that this tour did not include was the Raphael Room, with the Masterpieces. I want to give a special shout out to our guide Semeli, who was so thorough and knowledgeable during the tour. The pace was great and the timing in the morning with fewer people was just perfect! I highly recommend this tour!

Our guide Lucia was fantastic! So knowledgeable, and a great sense of humor. We didn’t get to see St Peter’s because the ‘Pope needed to use it that day’, but they let us know that well in advance. Remember to cover shoulders and knees too enter the Sistine Chapel, absolutely amazing. Highly recommend this tour.

An excellent tour for those new to the Vatican

The Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel & St Peter’s Church we’re all unbelievably beautiful. The tour was very organised, and it was great to meet early and have some simple breakfast. It was a good length for use, and our guide gave us a basic explanation in each room.

Great way to beat the crowds! Our guide was very good! We covered as many highlights as time allowed! So much to see! The only big negative was the "breakfast". Very poorly executed by the Tour company (nothing negative about our guide). they should just offer something at their office while your waiting for the tour to begin....

find a real "skip the line"

this was a fine experience. Better than a 3 star, but not good enough for a 4 star. There was a "breakfast" included that was before the tour. It was in the coffee shop next to the tour office. Everyone was given a croissant (even though we had noted that we had a vegan with us) as well as a tablespoon sized coffee. Nothing with the breakfast was bad or terrific, just unnecessary. I would have much preferred to eat at our hotel and meet later. Our guide met us where he was supposed to HOWEVER we waited well over 50 minutes before we were allowed in the first part of the tour. Our guide was knowledgeable and I thought we saw everything that we were supposed to see. so that combined with the breakfast was 2 hours of wasted time. when you are in Rome for only 4 days, that time is precious! However, since Viator messed up on TWO of our tours this vacation (one in spain and one in italy), we were grateful not to have another screw up. Hopefully they will eventually credit our credit card for the last minute cancelled tour. I have only emailed 4 days in a row, even though they said it would be issued the next morning. Maybe they were so busy trying to find us another Colosseum tour since they cancelled on us at the LAST minute???? Nope, we had to do that ourselves.

Francesca was a wonderful tour guide, and we really enjoyed the entire experience. Be prepared for a lot of walking, but that is expected and just means you get to see a lot of the Vatican museums. She was a wealth of knowledge and this tour was worth every dollar and the time we spent. This tour company was terrific, a spectacular way to see the Vatican!

The guide was outstanding if I could give more stars I would- he kept my teen son interested and engaged the entire time! It was very hot and a long tour but the guide made it go by quickly and had interesting information and excellent presentation. I would go back and see it agin with him!

Nice tour. Guide did a good job of keeping tabs on everyone and keeping us engaged. Would have enjoyed a little more explanation at St Peter’s. We went back in after because we didn’t see the altar at the very back of the church and didn’t realize there were tombs of popes in the downstairs.

Everything was what we were hoping for and more starting with cappuccino in a small café right through the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel and St Peters Basilica. Doing this kind of tour without a guide would have been a waste of our time. Our excellent guide provide the perfect amount of narrative for a short half day tour like this, was always accessible and she knew the best ways to avoid the crowds and spend the most of our time in the key areas

Educational, but not great value for the money

This is a very educational tour. Our guide was passionate and very knowledgeable. However, you do not actually see any part of the Vatican early as there is a long educational lecture out in the courtyard before you go in. By the time you go inside doors have been opened to the public and everything is very crowded. For a family with children, the amount of time spent standing still and listening compared to actually seeing things is a lot. I enjoyed this tour, we learned a lot, but I think there are probably tours that give better value for the money.
