What To Expect

Board your luxury coach, and travel from Rome to Tuscany with its scenic, rolling hills. Your first stop is Montepulciano, a town renowned for its fine wine and views. The Renaissance hilltown is best-known for its production of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, a full-bodied red wine. Learn about it on a walking tour, and discover highlights such as the Florence-style clock tower, the cathedral with its yet-to-be-finished façade, medieval wine cellars, and the old town walls.

Hear how the local vineyards produce the acclaimed Brunello di Montepulciano wine, and then sample a glass for yourself over a 3-course lunch at a local farm. In traditional Tuscan style, the menu features fresh farm-grown produce as well as a selection of local wine.

From the farm, travel on to Pienza, one of the region’s UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Here, enjoy free time to explore. We would highly recommend this trip! Our guide Ana and driver Rommel were fabulous! Ana was informative and entertaining! She shared interesting facts about the region, food, and wine. We stopped at delightful little towns, a beautiful winery and interesting churches and piazzas. The food was delicious. The wine was wonderful. The travel was comfortable. Marta was our guide in Montepulciano. Because she is a local to the area, we thought her stories and insight made the tour! We fell in love with the valley! The Tuscan area was a dream to spend time in!

I really loved walking the towns and taking in the scenery and the history. I wish there was more time to walk around in the shops. I guides were fantastic but we needed more time to explore/shop and take in the local culture.

Claudia was an amazing guide! She had everyone excited for the tour from start to finish! During the ride she gave us an amazing overview of the history and culture, kept us engaged, kept us amazed, and kept us laughing! I would recommend this tour for anyone wanting to experience the beauty of Tuscany, and I would definitely recommend they request Claudia specifically if possible!

Great day--only a taste of Tuscany

The tour was a great way to get a small taste of Tuscany in one day during a trip to Rome. Our guide Laura was fantastic. She was friendly, knowledgeable, worked to keep on time, and informative. The stops in Piensa and Montepulciano were really nice--great views, nice little shops, friendly people. The only downside is that there were a TON of tours--these small towns that are likely quaint on any random day are packed with tourists, takes away from the magic of Tuscany just a bit.

Claudia our tour guide for the bus was knowledgeable and funny. She was entertaining. Sara our walking tour guide had some audio issues but did her best to use her voice. She was extremely knowledgeable. The lunch was so so. Wine sample more like a sip and some pasta but I would not count it as a meal. The last stop although lovely is kind of a waste. Just some shops and you have to pay for the public toilet. This tour easily could be less than 10 hours.

Well organised tour from start to finish. The 3 course lunch was interesting but great, the best tomato pasta I’ve ever had!! Montepulciano was a beautiful hilltop town with lots of history. The tour guides were very knowledgeable about the area and it’s history. This tour is well worth adding to your itinerary.

The Tuscany day trip was a day trip worth doing for sure. It was a beautiful day, visited Montepulciano and the lunch at Fattorio Pulchini was amazing then went to Pienza which was also fantastic. Would’ve liked more time in Montepulciano, needed an hour, great shops. Martha was terrific as our guide, very knowledgeable and added great humour.

Beautiful tour, loved Montepulciano. Pickup location was easy to find. Everything was on time. No $480 Refund - Traveler Beware

If you do a tour, please take note. If you cannot make the meet point because they have an event that you’re not aware of and they cancel taxi services, Viator will not refund you although it’s not your fault. I invested almost $500 in the Tuscany trip I could not take through no fault of mine. So traveler beware.

Claudia was absolutely amazing!! She made my day this was a highlight of my trip!! You have to book this! The towns they take you to and the drive is amazing and absolutely beautiful. The food is so good, and if you like wine then you get to taste some really good wine. Claudia was so sweet and friendly, helpful, funny, and informative and really made they day so much more exciting.

Lovely towns and country side but too much time at tourist truck stop

The towns we visited and the views in Tuscany were absolutely amazing. Our tour guide was very friendly can gave us great information. Our only criticism is that we spent too much time on the way there and they way back at a truck stop type of place-- all we really needed was a restroom and that could be been cut down to 5-10 min to maximize our time in the beautiful towns instead. One of the towns we visited, we have 90 min to visit the town, however, most of the time was spent with the tour guide slowly taking us through the town with lots of detailed information. We only had 20 min to shop and walk around on our own! We were very disappointed and wanted more time on our own to relax and explore. The lunch was great and enjoyed the wine but would have liked to go to more than one vineyard.

This day trip was so perfect! It’s the absolute best way to see some of Tuscany during your Rome trip without having to plan or rent a car. The guide, Marta, was a fount of information, and our guide in montepulciano was excellent as well. I have nothing bad to say about this experience, only good things! Also lunch was AMAZING!!

Long day, but incredibly beautiful

The sights are beautiful and the guides are full of interesting information. Our guide did keep mentioning brunch instead of lunch, so we assumed (our fault) that we'd be dining esrly. Instead, we did not dine until around 1pm, so we wished we'd gotten more than a small cappuccino at the first stop.

Way too long ...boring in lots of places

WAY TOO LONG left at 730 back at 8pm...tour guide talked way to much and acted like a teacher..telling us what we SHOULD do and what not to do ...very lame jokes ...and told us we were TRAVELLERS not tourists...which infuriated not only me but others...we are tourists...trying to ingringate herself with us by saying we are "better" was pathetic and very annoying
