We were really pleased at the ease of the tour. If you are looking for a visit to the Muir Woods we would highly recommend. IF you are looking to do extensive trailing this may not be choice as it’s just shy of 2 hours to enter and time of departure. Our driver James was awesome! We took a few short stops prior. We chose staying in Sausalito which included a ferry ride back!

Great Experience for a Short Amount of Time

Booking was super easy, and our driver was great! The tour starts in SF and first is a 20 minute stop at a reststop w/ great views of the golden gate bridge. Then continue to Muir Woods where you have 90 minutes to wander through the trails. 90 minutes is great if you just want to see the forest. If you want to do more exploring, you will want a different tour. Then it is on to Sausalito. If you want to get off the bus and not just drive through the town, you need to book the option that includes a return ferry ticket. I found the descriptions of the options a little confusing, but was trying to book everything on my phone vs. a big screen, and I eventually figured it out. Our tour guide was great - funny and knowledgeable. If you only have 1/2 a day and want to fit in Muir Woods - this is a great option vs. trying to get there yourself!

Charles was an amazing guide! He kept us entertained, was clear in his directions and drove the bus in and around all the curves. Muir Woods was beautiful. Wish the gift shop had sweatshirts larger than 2x. Enjoyed the morning!

This was a great tour. Charles was very knowledgeable! If you don’t enjoy someone talking the entire tour I suggest some headphones, but I liked hearing the history of the woods and areas we drove through. Muir Woods was like stepping into another world. It was breathtaking. Great way to spend half a day.

A great trip and a must see while in San Francisco

This was a wonderful trip that we really enjoyed. The talk from our guide Charles was very informative. The woods were beautiful and tranquil and the conservation programme for the redwoods is to be commended. We took the ferry back to San Francisco which was also worthwhile.

Awesome ! From the ride up to Muir Woods, the guide/driver narrates the history behind the creation of Muir Woods National Forest. Very convenient for tourists . Leave the driving to them and just sit back , relax, enjoy and listen .

Muirwoods itself is an amazing experience, but what made the tour fun was our bus driver Charles. He was very informative full of historical fact and stories that made the drive seem to go by very fast. After we got on the bus and left San Francisco, we stopped on the other side of the Golden Gate bridge for a quick photo opportunity then headed to Muirwoods. It was about an hour drive in total. Then we had 90 to explore Muirwoods. Afterwards, we drove to Sausalito where we opted to take the ferry back. The ferry ride was very pleasant with great views of the Golden Gate bridge, Alcatraz and the city. Highly recommended tour!

The redwoods and streams were beautiful! It was a rainy day and the plant life was so vibrant the pictures did not do it justice. The path through the forest was easy to navigate.
