  • What to bring: Come with rafting clothes on (light shoes that will stay on, swimsuit, shorts, nylon shirt), sunscreen,water bottle, change of clothes, towel, insect repellent, some money for personal expenses.

  • Tour operate with a minimum of 2 people

It was my first time white water rafting and I'd honestly do it all over again. Our tour guide Diego was so welcoming. We got picked up by a shuttle early in the morning, got served breakfast, and lunch by the river, was in the river rafting for about 4-5 hours, then got dropped off at our chosen hotels. Excellent day trip option!

The day was well organized. Lunch by the river was delicious and prepared by the guides. This was my second time rafting but it's great for people who are brand new as long as they follow the rules. It is absolutely stunning scenery. Props to the locals for preserving the land. Our guide, Raul, was amazing y nuestro guía muy guapo tambien. Super knowledgeable about the history and wildlife of the area. I will definitely be back.

Tour was well organized, and every person we encountered was professional. Guides are knowledgeable and fun. The excursion is all day and a great value, including transportation, a full breakfast and lunch. The scenery is amazing and the ride is trilling, but felt safe always ( we went during dry season). Recommend!

The entire team was outstanding. We had a great guide in Kenif and the tour leader Christopher did an outstanding job overseeing the trip and photographing everyone in the rapids. We appreciated the opportunity to purchase the photos afterwards for a very reasonable price. The local breakfast and lunch on the river were excellent. The rafting on the river was excellent . Highly recommend this group and this trip for an experience that will last a lifetime!

Lots of rocks

Guides were awesome. So nice and so good at their jobs. I would 100% go again when the water level is higher. That water was so low. We were constantly getting stuck on rocks and the rapids were pretty slow. Of course none of this is the guides’ faults but I woulda rather had the experience get canceled and me do something else instead. Again, it could be my fault for going rafting during dry season, but in my Google searches it seemed like you could raft at any time in Costa Rica. But it’s clearly not true. Maybe in the dry season after a few days rain, it’s more enjoyable, but it hasn’t been raining so the rocks were out to play. Definitely would recommend people go during rainy season or right at the transition between the two.

A simply AMAZING white water rafting with outstanding guide and driver. We had a fantastic and very complete day with espectacular sightseeing of the Pacuare River flora and fauna, adrenaline, while feeling safe, and lunch break on the river. I highly recommend this tour and the guide Christopher (Chris) was very professional and expert. We will come back with the whole family

The experience was truly wonderful. The guides, both while rafting and during the bus ride (there & back), we’re incredibly knowledgeable and energetic. We went during the dry season, so the water was much lower. If you’re looking for a fun time and lots of beauty, and a little less thrill this is the trip for you! Be warned, however, during the more rainy season it is likely to be a bit more dangerous. Altogether, this was a truly unforgettable experience. Breakfast and lunch were delicious. There are many spots to hop in the river, relax, and enjoy the picturesque view. Would 10/10 recommend!

The drive was quick and easy, our rafting guides were great and personable. If I made sure to reapply sunscreen as the day went on, I would go again. Great scenery while rafting and tons of fun going down the river. Would recommend everyone try it when they come to Costa Rica.

The rafting trip and lunch on the Pacuare River were great. The guides are super friendly. The water is not too cold. Both breakfast and lunch were provided... The breakfast stop (eggs, rice & beans, plantain, toast, coffee) on the way there was a good rest stop during the drive. The lunch stop was a nice break about two thirds way through the rafting. Having only done rafting in the western US, where it is mostly rocky, we were really impressed by how green and lush everything is. NOTE: It's a lot of driving to get there from San Jose and back. Pick up from hotels in San Jose took almost an hour... then its maybe 3 hours to the river. The roads are winding and slow. We were picked up at 6:00am and were dropped back off at 6:30pm. We were pretty spent and done with the driving at the end of the day.

It was absolutely beautiful. The nature and the views are worth it. We would recommend! The experienced captains and the well working team are doing a great work and take good care of everyone and the equipment. Plus we had super cool people in the boat! This was the experience of a lifetime!!! The drive was long but well worth it. We were first timers rafting and were afraid of falling out of the raft but our guide was phenomenal and gave us good instructions. We got through rapids up to a strength level of 4 without any mishaps. The foods supplied were plentiful and hearty; lunch was fresh, really hit the spot! Although this activity was somewhat difficult for one of us (knee implants), it was worth the discomfort!!! Had a fantastic time!!!! Oh, and got to go swimming in the river too!!!! Awesome adventure!!!

Long drive to the river

Exhilarating experience. It’s a long long drive out there, but worth it. Wear your bathing suit under your clothes. Bring sturdy water socks or an old old pair of tennis shoes. Afterwards, you will able to quickly shower and change into dry clothes. Bring a towel, water, change of clothes, and money for incidentals and tips for the crew. You must be able to follow a few simple paddling commands and not panic. This is an adventurous excursion.
