  • May be operated by a multi-lingual guide
  • You will be required to sign a waiver upon tour check-in
  • Recommend you bring: Sunscreen, string or strap to secure your glasses, clothes to change into after the tour
  • Recommend you wear: Swimsuit, Shorts or long pants (for sun protection only - no jeans), tennis shoes or sandals with ankle straps (no flip flops), light rain jacket and/or polypropylene, wool shirts for cool or rainy days. Cotton T-shirts for sunny days only (they make you colder when wet)
  • A minimum of 2 adults per booking is required
  • Not wheelchair accessible
  • Near public transportation
  • Not recommended for travellers with back problems
  • Not recommended for pregnant travellers
  • No heart problems or other serious medical conditions
  • Most travellers can participate
  • For your safety, the 7am schedule may change because the river level is low at this time of year.

It was our first experience white water rafting and it was wonderful . The entire staff was very friendly, the security instructions were detailed and guide Aturo was very knowledgeable. David our photographer and savior along the way was funny, caring and made the best sugarcane juice. Fabian, the front desk person was cordial and took care of us throughout and after the trip. There were 10-12 rapids through our journey which lasted a couple of hours. The kids even got to swim during the journey which was a high point . The guide pointed out many birds and animals and sighting an iguana lazing on the banks made our day! The snacks and coffee at the end was a nice touch. One the best experiences of our Costa Rica trip👍🏼 Would highly recommend it!

Amazing rafting tour!

Amazing rafting tour. As we were doing the rafting tour in April, at the end of the dry season, the water level was relatively low. Nonetheless we had an exciting tour and it was totally worth it. All guides were very friendly, speak good English (useful in our case as our Spanish does not suffice) and have pointed out several typically Costa Rican animals, among which is the Toucan. The Sarapiqui Outdoor Center has changing rooms and restrooms. After the tour we got towels and we were brought back to the Outdoor Center. Once there, a nice fruits meal had already been prepared. Perfect service!

Amazing Adventure

This tour was exhilarating! The tour guides were fantastic— they were all patient, knowledgeable and experts at navigating us safely through the rapids. Before we began, they taught us the commands we’d need to follow and gave us time to review an instruction manual and practice in the raft before we took off. Don’t skip the delicious complimentary fruit or the meals available for purchase!

Outstanding experience. Our family of 6 (3 kids) were new to rafting. The guides were extremely good and knowledgeable and made us feel very comfortable. In addition to their mastery of the (c)raft, our guide also had good knowledge of local wildlife. At the end of the rafting, we got to sample some fresh fruit and great Costa Rica coffee! Highly recommended.

Las personas del lugar muy amables, cuidadosas y atentas. Se divierte uno en forma muy segura. Sus instalaciones son pequeñas pero limpias y suficientes. ¡Súper divertido y finaliza uno con un fresco alimento!

L’équipe de Sarapiquí Outdoor center est super accueillante. La descente est rafting était géniale. Les fruits servis étaient excellents et le guaro également. Nous avons vu plein d’animaux. Merci à David et Jean Carlos d’avoir partager avec nous leurs connaissances. Nous recommandons vivement cette activité avec ce centre.
