Bites & Sights tour with Angel

Went on a tour with Angel! He was amazing, friendly & knowledgeable. We tried a couple of fruits and had some bites. He told us history about the city, brought us through the markets, and told us where we should go eat/buy souvenirs. I would definitely recommend this tour— especially with angel!

Great few hours to immerse yourself in San Jose life

Had a great few hours exploring the local markets, sampling some local dishes along the way as well as making some empanadas. Our guide Daniel was fantastic. Chatty and informative. Highly recommend this tour if you have a few hours to scratch below the surface of San Jose.

The tour guide was late and he was not too friendly. He seemed tired throughout the entire trip. He did not inform us that we need tickets to the theater after the tour.

Hello, yesterday we had a situation with a couple, who got lost so the guide had to go look for them and returned to the meeting 3 minutes later, yesterday the theater was closed because the president of the republic was using it, so we were not They didn't let us even come close to a block, we're sorry that you didn't feel well but they were situations that got out of our hands. The tour gave us a great opportunity to learn about local food and culture. Visiting the market and sampling different kinds of exotic fruits was fun. Making our own empanadas and tasting freshly brewed coffee was the highlight of the tour. Our guide Angel was very knowledgeable, friendly and professional. Really enjoyed our tour with Daniel, a first class guide. The combination of snippets of history and sightseeing combined with tasting all sorts of local dishes and fruits in the Central Market was both fun and interesting. No need for lunch afterwards. A great tour, good value for money, would highly recommend.

This was our first tour in San Jose. The markets were very interesting. We tried fruit grown in San Jose and it was good. This was a good way to see the city. The coffee was surprisingly good without cream. At home I never drink my coffee black.

We had a wonderful experience with our tour and the guide Angel was great- really informative, moved at a good pace, and helped entertain and find tastes for our toddler who we brought along with us! Would definitely recommend as a way to see local spots and explore the market, and to taste delicious local fruits and specialties like empanadas, ceviche, etc!

Yummy bang for the buck!

This is a great way to see downtown San Jose. We are curious types so it was great to have someone on hand to answer all of our “What’s that…?” and “Why does…?” questions. We tried about ten different fruits, drinks and foods and learned a bit of Costa Rican history too. The only drawback was that we were on the last tour of the day so a lot of the booths in the market were closed or closing. Thankfully our guide Daniel hustled and nabbed us some of the sweetest fruits we’d ever tasted. Rolling out our own empanada deserts was fun too. We considered this to be $33 very well spent.
