What To Expect

After morning pickup at your Seoul accommodation, travel in a climate-controlled coach to reach Imjingak Park.

Upon arrival, view the Freedom Bridge and old steam trains as you learn from your guide about the Korean War. Next, drive to the 3rd Tunnel, which the North Korean Army built in the 1970s to infiltrate South Korea. Disembark and follow your guide into the tunnel on foot to see it up close.

After visiting the tunnel, take time to view the exhibits in the DMZ Exhibition Hall, such as displays of old weapons and a film that details the history of Korea.

Continue to the observatory at Mt Dora to see North Korea through telescopes that are trained on North Korea’s propaganda village just over the border.

Go to Dorasan Station, the final station in South Korea before entering North Korea. As a souvenir, receive a stamp that resembles the immigration desk in the airport (you will not enter North Korea).

Pass by the Unification Village on the way back to Imjingak Park, and hear from your guide how people wish for the reunification of the two Koreas.

Head back to Seoul and stop at a ginseng center before having a lunch of Korean fare. After lunch, visit the War Memorial of Korea, which holds more than 10,000 artifacts. Have two hours to make your way through the six exhibition halls and the outdoor exhibition area.

Your tour ends with drop-off at Itaewon or City Hall.

DMZ

You will be picked up at your hotel in Central Seoul or subway station then taken to Imjingak Park. Once you arrive at the park, you can see the Freedom Bridge and an old steam train that shows the extremity of the tragedy that was the Korean War at Imjingak Park. Then, the DMZ bus will head to the 3rd Tunnel that North Korean Army built to infiltrate South Korea in 1970s. You will walk down to the tunnel (about 500m, round trip) wearing a safety helmet. After coming out of tunnel, you will have some time to look around the DMZ Exhibition Hall which shows the Korean War, old weapons and Korea's history. After the Exhibition Hall, you will head to Mt Dora to see North Korea from the Observatory. There are many telescopes to look at North Korea’s propaganda village. Then you will move to Dorasan Station, the last station before entering North Korea from South Korea. You can get a stamp that resembles the immigration desk in the airport, as a souvenir (You will not be entering North Korea).   On the way back to Imjingak Park, your vehicle will pass by the Unification Village before heading back to Seoul. Once you return to Seoul, you will stop-by a Korean Ginseng Center (skip if you choose "without shopping tour" option).

Enjoyable and unforgettable

The tour is informative and enjoyable. Especially the tour guide (Crystal) is very professional and helpful. I look forward to another trip to DMZ and JSA next year.
Fascinating View of North Korea and the facts on Discovered Tunnels

Sandie leads the tour well. She is fun loving, knowledgeable and connects well with the tour. Very accommodating and makes the trip smooth. Definitely will recommend my friends and relatives for this package.
Good tour, some differences from the description
Thuy_H, Oct 2022
Overall the tour was good, but it could have been better if the timing was more thought out and it was described more accurately. For context, I purchased the full day tour which includes the visit to the War Memorial. First, the tour began much later than I expected (8am pickup vs the 6:30am mentioned in the description). We ended up visiting the actual DMZ at 12pm and leaving around 3pm. Thus, we only really had about an hour to visit the War Memorial. Additionally, I did not know the tour guide was going to walk us through the Korean War exhibit in the War Memorial either. While this could be a nice experience for some, I personally like to explore and learn at museums on my own and at my own pace. This further reduced the amount of time we had at the museum. Lastly, the lunch was at the Imjingak Tourist Center instead of Seoul as stated in the description. This is not as big of a deal, but if I had known we would have had available food options and enough time to eat by ourselves, I wouldn’t have thought that lunch being included in the full day tour was as important. Overall, I’m not sure the full day tour was exactly worth it. I would just go with the regular length.
Crystal was fantastic!...
Jessica_T, Sept 2022
Crystal was fantastic! Super friendly and had so much knowledge on everything. The DMZ was great wish there was more time at the stops to take everything in
Thank you, Crystal :)

The tour group was kept very small so that one could hear and understand everything as well as ask questions. Our most overperforming tour guide Crystal did a very good job adapting her style to the need of the group and let us know about the tour procedure in advance so the we always knew what to expect. I got to learn a lot about the Inter-Korean conflict in a fun and informing way.
Really great experience
Nicolas_J, Aug 2022
Really enjoyable day. We had a private guide for the war memorial of Korea ( the same as for DMZ. That day, we were the only one to choose a full day tour). She is a wonderful english speaker and really nice as well !
This was one of the best...

This was one of the best tours I have ever been on. The tour guide was great, the experience was phenomenal. It would be a steal at even twice the price. I can’t recommend enough.
Well Put Together
Patrick_G, July 2022
I thought the tour was put together very well. The tour guide was very informative and the sites we’ve been to are amazing! Would recommend this tour
Still good even with a change of plans

My wife and I originally signed up for the full day tour but the political climate changed so they had to resort to the alternate tour. The alternate was only a half day and we were refunded half our money. The new tour was very informative no less interesting. There was a choice when visiting the war museum. You can explore for the hour given by the tour guide and return to the bus with him or you can stay and fully explore it and return on your own time. I suggest doing the latter because an hour is no where near enough time. It took us about four hours or so to get through everything. It was a fun time.
This historic hot spot is a must for history buffs

Although the DMZ has a bit of a carnival atmosphere it is non the less an important and serious place worth visiting. It would be a good idea for young people to study up on Korean history and the Korean conflict in particular.
A great tour of the DMZ

Our tour guide, Sadie made this tour excellent. She was so knowledgeable and could answer any question you asked. Time management was great and we got to see everything without feeling like we were being rushed. Overall, a fantastic experience!

DMZ - Tour - Excellent
David_G, July 2019
The day tour of the DMZ was an amazing experience and the tour guide was superb at summing up the whole history of what we were seeing - I especially liked the trip down the 3rd infiltration tunnel although it’s a shame you can’t take pictures down there. The only fly in the ointment was that the morning was a little rushed, but I guess that’s how it has to be to fit everything in

Guide Sadie was great!

We thoroughly enjoyed the tour with our professional guide named Sadie. She explained very well the history of the Korea war and took good care of everyone. The visit per location was very time constraint though...
Worth it
