What To Expect
Meet your small group at Jegidong Station Exit 2 (Line Number 1, near Dongdaemun Station) a little before 10am to get your 3-hour experience underway.
Your guide (who later becomes your cooking instructor) takes you and a small-group limited to seven on a short walking tour through the city to a local market. At the market, following the lead from your guide, your group picks up all the ingredients needed to make the recipes that have been planned out for the day.
Please note your meal has been planned differently by the day you chose for this experience. On Monday, you'll make samgyetang. If you chose a Thursday class, you’ll make kimchi. If you chose a Tuesday or Saturday class, you’ll make bulgogi, japchae, and deonjang jjigae. Fridays are reserved for bibimbap, and Sunday classes involve making a variety of Korean desserts.
After the market, your guide shows you the way to a Korean-style house in a local neighborhood. He or she sets you up in the kitchen with the others, and class begins. Learn how to make the popular Korean dishes on the menu for the day.
Once everything has been fully prepared, sit down and taste what you’ve created. Chat with your group members and cooking instructor before they bring you back to the station exit you were picked up from. Morning tea is included on all of the tours.

This class was so fun! Shopping through the food market was magical! We felt like locals rather than tourists! Our guide was the best and made cooking fun! She had entertaining stories about this non-touristy neighborhood. Would definitely recommend this class to Seoul visitors!

This was one of the most enjoyable activities we had in South Korea. The chef was professional and nice. The cooking class and the market tour were most enjoyable. Great experience of a Traditional Cooking Experience in Korean Style House in Seoul

Minseon was such a wonderful teacher! She made the day so fun. She was so great at explaining everything and giving details on the market and ingredients as well as helping us to make some of the most delicious food. Could not recommend this enough!

Impressed with the number of dishes made and amount of food. I have to take some to go 😁. My daughter really enjoyed the experience as well and we received a cookbook to use in the future.

I am a semester abroad student in Seoul, so I decided to learn how to cook Korean. And this was the best tour/cooking class I could imagine to learn it. We started with a walk across the biggest market for groceries, spices and traditional medicine in Korea. Afterward, we walked to a lovely cooking studio which is nearby the market. We'd been a group out of 6 people and everybody was able to make different experiences within the cooking class. The chef's/instructors had been really friendly and nice to us! I definitely recommend this tour, it was a great expierience and I now have all the receipts I need to cook the korean food back home. Thank you !:)

Just recommended to folks at my conference. a terrific way to spend the morning. Best food so far that I have eaten in Korea. Considering squeezing another class in at the end of my trip.
Great, fun class

This class is taught by a friendly, knowledgeable and cheerful head instructor. I booked it for myself and two others and we had a great time.
The instructor took us throughout the market and taught us a lot about the types of ingredients used in Korean food and the distinctions between them. She showed us the pots they traditionally cooked in and we went to stalls were she explained the different vegetables unique to Korean cooking as well as special pastes. We also saw sesame being ground into sesame oil. We went by a pepper stall doing something similar. It was really cool especially if you are a cook and want very fresh ingredients to take back home. This pre-cooking class market tour was amazing as we thought we would just be taken back to cook but it really helped us to understand the ingredients and feel connected to their sourcing.
The cooking class was great. We got to taste this yummy drink from some sort of sweet lemon tree that grows in Korea as well as rice wine. There were about 11 different dishes we prepared as a group and we were taught proper cutting technique and of course how to make each. We were very full of delicious food after the class. Highly recommend!

More than 5 stars!

Our flight was very delayed for more than 6 hours hence not able to catch up with our 10am cooking class schedule, however, Chef Min-seon of OME Cooking Lab was very kind enough to accommodate us for the 2pm class. It was interesting to go around the market and much more interesting to be immersed in some Korean cooking under her. I have attended a cooking class here in Korea last February but this one under OME Cooking Class superceded far ahead. We did Samyetang Chicken, Kimchi, pancakes, side dishes. We were even served unlimited orange drinks. I would recommend ONLY THIS for a very organized cooking experience. DEFINITELY MORE THAN 5 STARS RATING. I would give a TEN THUMBS UP! Thank you Chef Min-seon and your staff! Keep up the good works!
Informative and Tasty Experience

We were unexpectedly surprised by the informative tour of the market and of Medicine Street. Our guide was so friendly and knowledgeable. Cooking and eating our meal in the cooking lab was also greatly enjoyed. We learned a lot and would enjoy taking another class the next time we return to Seoul. Grateful for the pictures and recipes emailed to us afterwards, and we look forward to trying to recreate the meal at home. Would highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to learn more about Korean culture and cooking.

This is a very enjoyable experience. The course was conducted in a traditional Hanok near a large traditional wet market in Seoul. There were 6 people in the class from 4 countries, what a melting pot. The cooking teacher and her two assistants work so seamlessly in introducing all the ingredients, switching utensils and could see they have very good experience and know what they are doing. The class was conducted in English in combination with some food history of Korea. Is a very hands-on session, all students are given tasks to prepare and cook together. The menu that day was Kimchi making, two types of Pajeon, Bossam, Doenjang-jjigae, and Japchae. The teacher gave us many cooking tips that otherwise we may never know the knowhow. The session highlight is eating the completed meal together. It was exceptionally delicious. The market tour was also very interesting to see some of the ingredients that are only available in Korea. Some students in our class signed up a few different sessions to get a good knowledge of Korean cooking. I will do the same next time.

My friends and I had a fun time learning how to cook Korean foods and walking around the market. Chef/guide(Minseon) was proficient in English and we easily understand the lesson. The foods cooked were our lunch and it was delicious. I highly recommend this gourmet tour/lesson.

Nice group cooking class. You don't get to cook individual recipes yourself, you take part with the group. So if you like that style of cooking class this is good. VERY clean, beautiful kitchen, historic markets nearby. Plan to spend the rest of your day wandering around the markets! After class, I had to go to doctor's appointment and the teacher took me all the way to the taxi and explained to him my destination. Very good service and kind teacher.
