We really enjoyed our trip to East Sea and Seorak mountain! Chance Kim, our guide, took great pictures of us and did an awesome job explaining the history of Seorak mountain and East Sea. We loved visiting the lighthouse, traditional market and tasting yummy ho-thuk filled with savory nuts and drinking fresh sugar cane juice. Seorak mountain was majestic! We visited Mt. Seorak just after the peak season so it was quiet and peaceful. We had a wonderful time as our guide Mr Kim Chansoo was also a mountain hiker and gave us lots of information about the Mountain. The trail is very manageable but not for very young children or those in strollers. We also visited the East Sea and saw the beautiful sea from the lighthouse. At our request, Mr Kim also took us to a very nice seafood restaurant to try out their seafood and local fish dishes! Overall it was a very good trip and I highly recommend this tour to anyone who loves nature!

Amazing Tour / Amazing Tour Guide

Our tour guide Alfonso was absolutely amazing. He was very knowledgeable with the area and history. We had an amazing day with him. After Mt. Seorak tour (which was beautiful) we went to a market and had chicken and beer. We also had a pancake with sticky rice and brown sugar (whatever you do....do not miss this sweet delicacy - so yummy). While on the drive to the mountain and back Alfo provided amazing conversation. I highly recommend this tour. Please be aware though that there are numerous steps (some in not so great shape) that you must climb up to get to the area.

Kim was such a dedicated tour guide, told us everything we want to know about Korea, kept us engaged the whole time. You could actually customize your trip with Kim, depending on your interests & fitness level, Kim is very accommodating. Try to avoid weekends if possible as the Koreans love to hike on the weekends, it is their national pastime & the National Park tends to be overcrowded.

Es gab vom Reiseleiter - ausser auf unsere Nachfrage - quasi keine Informationen zum Tempel in Soraksan und zu Sokchu. Bei strömenden Regen wartete er jedes Mal im Auto und schickte uns allein zu den Sehenswürdigkeiten. Da aufgrund des Nebels sowieso nichts zu sehen war, hätten wir uns diesen Teil aber sparen können. Er wartete unten und vergass leider uns zu sagen, dass die Seilbahn zu einer alten Festung führt (was der Sinn der Seilbahnfahrt gewesen wäre) Das im Preis enthaltene Mittagessen sollte zuerst Bibimpap sein. Erst als wir darauf bestanden eine regionale Spezilität zu essen und uns bereit erklärten einen Mehrpreis zu zahlen, führte er uns in ein Restaurant für gegrillten Fisch am Hafen in Sokchu.

Here is the answer from the guide who led this tour. I am sorry to read your review. I understand you got a bitter disappointment of Seoraksan Mt. tour in that bad weather day. Especially, so much foggy and cloudy in the Gwon- guem-seoung fortress. This terrible weather could not let you enjoy the scenery. Basically, Seoraksan mt. is proud of beautiful scenery and landscape. That's why many people canceled the tours when it rains. Before the cable car, I told you there are many trails for walking. but you worried about kids could be more slippery... About Lunch, I introduced the Bibimbap restaurants at the Seoraksan first. You chose the restaurants at the coastal area. I informed you may be need to pay some extra money over the budget in advance. I thought you were very happy at the grilled fish restaurant. Because your family enjoyed every single grilled fish.. It seemed that there was some misunderstanding. I hope to see you again in the future. When it's comes, let me serve you with more attentive caring. Good luck..!!

Die Tour ist wirklich zu empfehlen. Chance der Tour Guide gibt sich sehr viel Mühe. Schon bei der Fahrt raus aus Seoul bespricht er mit einem den Tagesablauf und ist auch offen für Wünsche. Auch konnte man ihn alles Fragen und auch über Hintergründe der aktuellen Politik in Südkorea diskutieren bzw. fragen. Besonders der Ausflug nach Sokcho hat mir gut gefallen. Haben vom Leuchtturm den Blick aufs Meer und den Hafen genossen. Besuch eines kleinen Fischmarktes. Zu Mittag gab es dann ein leckeres Essen in einem kleinen Restaurant am Hafen. Toller frischer Fisch. Danach ging es zu einem großen Markt in der Stadt. Immer wieder interessant. Von dort ging dann die Fahrt zum Nationalpark. Dort besichtigten wir eine Tempel Anlage. Später ging es dann rauf mit der Seilbahn rauf auf den Berg. Toller Ausblick von dort oben. Nach einer kurzen Pause ging es dann wieder zurück nach Seoul. Am nächsten Tag schickte mir Chance noch die Bilder die er von mir gemacht hat. War ein toller Tagesausflug mit vielen neuen Eindrücken.
