Waste! Of! Time!

The driver didn’t speak any English at all and we used google translate to communicate. It took me ten minutes to find him as he wasn’t standing there with a sign. He took me to a dirty marketplace to take a picture of the Welcome to Batam sign. That was worthless. The layer cake promised was only a sample and it was disgusting. Massage was just ok, but the place was dirty. I opted to just skip the meal altogether because I was just ready to leave there. I can’t believe what I paid for this stupid trip.

Unfortunately due to union disagreement issues, the public garbage collectors were on strike during the time of your visit, and we sincerely regret the rubbish bags left on the kerbside outside the massage centre and the marketplace. With regards to your driver, he was unaware that your high-speed ferry had arrived 20 minutes ahead of schedule (due to rare favourable sea conditions). We sincerely apologise for his 10-minute delay in meeting you, as well as his local English slang. We have counselled him seriously and sent him for English improvement lessons to ensure that this does not happen again. We have noted your dislike for Indonesian cuisine, and as a gesture of goodwill, we had processed a refund for all the unconsumed food. Finally, in case if you are back in Batam again in better circumstances, please do call us, and we will be happy to extend a complimentary 2-hour massage for you at our massage centre.

Quick Trip to Batam

It was a great trip. The driver was right at the exit for the ferry with a sign with my name. It was a quick trip with the meal and massage taking up most of the time. After lunch, the driver took me around quickly to show me the highlights of Batam. It was a short trip, but I felt like I got the highlights.

Very good trip.Guide was informative. 2 hour massage included made the trip very good value for money.Trip to temple was the best we visited in our 2 week holiday to Asia. Indonesian food was very good but we were the only customers in the restaurant so we were not shore to start with but was ok. Because of the 1 hour time change to Batam from Singapore it was late evening by the time we got back to Singapore on the ferry.

We had a small problem with the Indonesian officials before catching the ferry, but eventually we got onto the ferry. As for the tour itself it was brief, due to our time constraints. The guide was very helpful and showed us as much as possible in the time available. The 2 hour massage was to die for , excellent. The lunch was ok as we are fussy eaters but was well presented. Overall we had a great day out.
