Ace Ong - Great tour guide with passion!
      Rachel_T, Feb 2022
Ace Ong has provided a very comprehensive private tour of the World War II Introduction on Singapore during the 4 to 5 hours day tour. It was unfortunate that we could not cover the whole tour (last bit of it) due to a heavy downpour. However, I appreciate all the details and information shared by Ace Ong with regards to my questions on the world war II in Singapore even after the tour had ended. He is indeed a very knowledgeable guide and I will highly recommend him to anyone who is keen in learning more about the history of Singapore.

This was a fabulous experience and well worth it! Our tour guide, Ace, showed us around the island, explaining its history and was able to personalise it so that we visited key areas and addresses linked to our family's history. We learnt so much about not only WW2 but also modern day Singapore so thumbs up for Ace and Right tours. However, thumbs down for Viator. I sent them 5 emails asking for confirmation of the tour as I didn't recieve anything and kept being told that the tour was inorder. I did ring Right tours as soon as I reached Singapore and later discovered that there had been a computer error and it was only as a result of my call that they traced the booking. So definitely do this tour if you have any interest in Singapores history but DO make sure you receive a confirmation from the tour operator in Singapore. This could have been a very different review had I not kept checking and actually phoned as soon as I got to SG.

We had an excellent days tour of the Singapore WW2 battlefields and it added much more context to our existing knowledge of the era and place - and it was fthe 50th anniversary of our very first visit to Singapore - what an amazing change! We had family reasons for the tour and therefore brought some of our own documentation. We were very impressed by the way the Ace customised our tour with the documentation while we looked round the Changi Museum - we then spent a very effective 8 hours covering the areas of our particular interest of the Singapore battlefield. The administration was immaculate as was very well informed discussion with Ace on facets of the history of old and modern Singapore much of which we had not fully appreciated. The tour was a hightlight of our Singapore visit and a must to help with the understanding of the past and present Singapore. Many thanks Ace and Ralphina.

Ace was an excellent tour guide. We appreciated his enthusiasm, his flexibility and his knowledge. We also appreciated his patience!! Being highly interactive travellers, there was a lot of discussion! I wouldn't hesitate in highly recommending him. By the end of the tour we had a comprehensive overview of the attack on Singapore and life in Singapore during the occupation. We learned a large number facts that we had not known previously - particularly about Operation Matador and the role in played in the war in South East Asia. The only thing I would change would be to visit the museum at the Old Ford Factory before the visit to the Changi Prison museum. The guided tour we received at the Old Ford Factory consolidated what we had learned from Ace, whereas we didn't really have enough info at our fingertips when we visited the Changi museum. All in all, Ace's tour is an absolute must. Definitely the highlight of our visit to Singapore.

Ace was a really good tour guide, and we greatly enjoyed the long tour. The only suggestion that could make the tour better would be if it included lunch at a local restaurant. We literally drove around the entire island, and visited so many sights that we could never have done this on our own. A fascinating view of history of Singapore.

Easy to book and punctual pick-up. Nice aircon vehicle with complementary water. Friendly driver and knowledgeable guide who was passionate about the subject. He was always interested in new information and i was able to tell him that my Father was on HMS Rotherham when it sailed into the naval dockyard to take the surrender of 34,000 Japanese personel. The western gate of the old naval dockyard is called Rotherham Gate and 1 pillar still remains. If you are interested in the history of Singapore or had relatives who were there then this tour is for you as it can be adapted to your wishes. Excellent!

This was the highlight of our seven-day trip to Singapore. Ace is a knowledgable and engaging guide with a passion for military history who caters the tour to your interests. We visited Changi Museum, Kranji War Cemetery and the Ford Factory as well as a number of other spots where significant events occurred. We were picked up from our hotel in a clean and comfortable car as there was just the two of us. The only thing I'd recommend is to bring some snacks as there's no stopping for lunch but Ace provides water. It was a very special way to commemorate Anzac Day.

The tour was very enjoyable. Ace the tour guide went out of his way to research and locate some WW2 significant places that I wanted to see, which aren't on a normal tour. We spent time on the northern side of the island visiting Japanese landing sites, Australian defensive positions and the causeway. We could see the Sultan of Johores palace in southern Malaysia which was used as the Japanese command post during the Singapore invasion. The Bukit Chandu museum was particularly moving. There are many different historical WW2 places in Singapore so for history buffs or descendants of veterans who want a personalised tour this one is highly recommended.
