Why the gross inaccuracies?
Indeed, I had to cancel your tour and I am of course very sorry about that. As a small operator, I can hardly afford cancellations. However, as you indeed point out, I am unable to run a tour with only 1 guest. As all tour operators, we also require minimum 2 guests for a tour to go ahead.
Obviously I hate to cancel a tour, which is why I waited as long as possible for last minute bookings to come in. Unfortunately that did not happen. But I messaged you 4 days(!) in advance - not 3 days as you mistakenly claim. In this message, sent on Aug 6, 2019, (-i’e’ 4 days before departure - I have the Tripadvisor record to show this), I offered to organise a seat for you on the Blue Mountains tour run by our partner. (FYI - their tour is actually quite a bit more expensive than mine, but of course I always pay the difference myself).
This partnering operators' Blue Mountains itinerary is similar to ours, with only 1 real difference: instead of Featherdale, their tour visits Calmsley Farm to see a whole bunch native animals (including kangaroos, wombats and koalas). All other tour elements are virtual identical to ours, including:
- A 1.5 hour walk
- All major valleys visited (Jamison and Grose Valley)
- Packed lunch
- Small group
- Luxury vehicle
- Return via Bells line of Road
- Visit to Mt Tomah Botanical Gardens,
However, onAugust 8th at 11.30 PM (more than 2 days after my initial message), you requested a refund as “ “I do not want the AEA's Blue Mountains tour as it does not include Featherdale Park.” Isn't it again dishonest to now say that " was offered an option which was not at all comparable to the tour which I had booked."? The alternative option was very comparable.
You also say that by cancelling 3 days in advance (as I mention, it was 4 days in advance), I did not give you the time to source another tour Blue Mountains tour Well, firstly: you had 4 days, not 3. Anyway, 3 days, leave alone 4, is plenty of time to find another operator. As anybody can see on Tripadvisor or Google, there are large number of operators who run daily Blue Mountains tours.
But where I do agree with you, is that it may have been difficult to source an operator that covers the points that my tour was going to cover. Few indeed do, with 1 exception: alternative tour I suggested to you, and which you declined!
Frankly Mr or Ms Slothouber, I find your dishonest review disappointing and infuriating. Sad.
