What To Expect

After meeting your guide in The Rocks, starts your ghoulish walk in the mists of time, when this neighborhood was home to sailors, prostitutes, sly-grog shops (where cheap liquor was sold illegally), opium dens and many nefarious characters. Notorious gangs such as the Rocks Push and the Razor double-crossed their victims and rivals, sometimes going as far as murder. Hear the tales of unfortunate souls whose ghosts are rumored to roam the streets as your guide leads you through their spooky stories and former haunts.

As you walk through the darkened streets, your guide reveals theories about lingering mysteries and unsolved murders that have perplexed investigators for decades. Discover how sites such as the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Susannah Place, Dawes Point, Atherden Street and the Orient Hotel are connected to one another through these tales.

Expect to stroll at a leisurely pace for about one mile (1.6 km) during your tour, with frequent stops for photo ops. After an eerie evening of ghost tales and possibly some sightings, your tour ends when your guide returns you to your starting point.

Found the tour very interesting indeed. With a lot of evidence out there. Really enjoyed Observatory Hill, what a magical place. We could almost imagine the picnic blanket out, and the gruesome public watching the hangings as entertainment. The bats flying overhead at the time giving greater effect. We found our guide "Jake", very clear, and well spoken. And although running a little late due to train problems, kept us informed.

A great walk and some wonderful sights. Enjoy the exercise and take a camera for the classic views of the city and areas around. The stories are entertaining but would be nice to enter some of the buildings. All sites and stories are from the footpath.

We had amazing time with our tour guide Jake! He was enthusiastic the whole way which made each story even more better. Was able to walk at your own pace and got to see alot more than expected. A great time out for anyone really!

Really good tour with a knowledgeable and fun guide. Would recommend if you are a true believer and interested in the supernatural. Would not recommend if you wanted to hear gruesome stories of the past (there was none of those).

The only reason we would cancel a tour is if an extreme weather warning has been issued or if the tour guide is unwell and we are unable to secure another guide. Interesting but not very spooky

Our host was a very good story-teller and created an interesting ambience amongst The Rocks. We were able to walk to and visit some eerie sites, however it was predominantly a walking tour with some creepy stories thrown in. Unfortunately we weren’t able to go into any of the sites, when most of the stories revolves around what happened inside them.

This started well but it was Australia Day and when we were distracted by the fireworks I felt our guide lost patience and the tour ended early. There is plenty of walking and much uphill which I was happy with but would not suit everyone.

the tour in itself , as walking tour around this area was great,as we discovered a neibourhood. i would have never walk as a tourist around this way the talk about ghost, it was ok for young kids or teens!!!

Our tour guide did not show up due to having an accident which understandably was not their fault but despite having a contact number it was difficult to find out why we left wondering what had happened. Once alerted the company apologised but unfortunately we did not get to go on the tour.. I hope our tour guide was ok and makes speedy recovery.
