we had Roberto as our guide. he is wonderful. very informative and kind. we were picked up from our bed and breakfast and taken to 3 wineries. we really enjoyed the first two. they were smaller and not so commercialized. all the wines were great and the food also. on the first winery the tasting was outside and it was just fantastic. definitely do recommend this tour!!

Excellent introduction to Etna DOC wines

The tour took us to two small family owned wineries and one somewhat larger winery, part of a group of wineries throughout Italy owned by a group from Tuscany. All provided good examples of Etna denomination (Etna DOC) wines. By the end of the tour we had tasted a wide sample of Etna wines and received information on the grapes used to produce them. Adding to the enjoyment was the friendly reception we received at each winery, at our third and last stop. Excellent introduction to Etna DOC Our guide Luigi was excellent, friendly, full of information and a proud “son of Etna” as he lives in a small town in the area.

We reserved this private wine tasting tour with Viator and we are so glad we did this. Our tour driver was Marko and he was amazing. He picked us up from our B&B and was very friendly and courteous. He gave us little tidbits on different areas when we were driving through and never rushed us, even took pictures of places where we wanted to stop. The 3 wineries were beautiful! 3 different styles and approach. We loved every single one of them. We tasted 3/4 glasses of wine per winery and dined on various cheese/meat pairings. It was a lovely day at the base of Mt. Etna! Thank you for an amazing tour.

This was an awesome excursion and worth every cent. Maurizio is a great host and is very knowledgeable about wine and Sicilian culture. The conversation between vineyards was great to prep us for the next experience. As far as the vineyards, each one was absolutely fantastic. Completely blew away our expectations of what we were to expect. There is no limit to time, wine, or food at these tours. They aren’t cheap at all. You will NOT be disappointed. At the end, Maurizio gave us the best surprise ever. I won’t spoil it but we definitely had the best day of our entire trip tasting wine. Book it!!!

If you are arriving on a cruise ship to the Palermo port do not book this tour! The tour operator was unable to pick us up as the port is a 600 km round trip from were the tour takes place. This was not communicated to us by Viator at all and in fact continued to insist that the tour was possible which is was not leaving us standing on shore with no tour operator there to pick us up as planned.

We do not represent VIATOR, we are the sicilian Tour Operator who was supposed to meet you 300 km from the meeting point. Viator, thanks to our interest has fully reimbursed you. I am an honest person and I have to tell the truth: The day before the Tour I called you personally and you did not even know at which port in Sicily your cruise ship would dock. Maybe Viator made a mistake but you made the Tour reservation, NOT Viator.. You are the one who had to figure it out. This product at different departures: Taormina area, Messina area, Catania area and this information is clearly written. We have almost every day tours from the Port of Messina or the port of Taormina or Catania but a guest not knowing the port of arrival had never happened. We hope you will return to Sicily soon (This time in the right port) so you can take this wonderful wine tour in Sicilian countryside. Grazie Best Regards

This was the highlight of my girls trip to Italy! Our guide, Natalie, was so patient, knowledgeable and helpful. The vineyards were stunning, the wine was brilliant and her company was the cherry on top. The guides at each Vineyard were so wonderful and gracious to us, I can tell Natalie has great rapport in the wine community of Sicily based off of the VIP treatment we received. Our tour guide Samuela was amazing! She gave an amazing tour and helped us with all our dietary needs. She was funny, engaging, and made the trip extra special! We recommend this trip highly, and if you can have her as a tour guide you will have an outstanding experience! The three wineries we visited were different, but all beautiful in their unique ways. They had their own unique specialties, which was really fun to see. Please do this experience you won’t be sorry!

This was on our first day in Sicily and really the perfect start to our trip! It was such a leisurely day and Maurizio was a wonderful driver/guide throughout the whole trip. He gave us insider tips and clearly enjoys his job. Would absolutely come back and do this again!

Firstly I would like to say grazie mile to Maurizio for being better than punctual, he was early, and for having driven us thru the Etna winery region all the while speaking in French to us, his third language. He noticed we spoke it in the car and offered to do the tour in French rather than English. We were thrilled! All the wineries were fabulous, each with its own personality. There were 6 of us doing the tour, and we got along extremely well. We had so much fun, the visits were great, the wines , I believe 12 in total, amazing. I discovered Etna DOC has a fabulous white wine that I will be looking for when I get back home. All 3 wineries had great food service with the wine, and thank you for the kiwi marmelade at Torre Mora.. what a nice little addition… I love doing winery visits, and I must say one cannot go wrong in booking this tour! You will love it… great wine, great food, astonishing views in the countryside and lovely personnel everywhere! An A+ experience! Bravo!

We tasted several wines at each stop so we could compare. Each tasting was paired with food. Wineries varied in size but all in Mt Edna area. Our guide was well versed in the volcanoes and history, geology and effect on wine. Educational.

A great way to discover Etna wineries

Elena was our brilliant guide for a delightful day exploring 3 wineries in the foothills of Mount Etna. We visited a small, medium and large vineyard and were offered delicious (and plentiful amounts of) local cheeses, meats, antipasti and pasta. Elena, our guide, even bought my wife a birthday treat (a local cake that she had told us about in the morning). Couldn't have asked for more, thank you Elena!

We wanted to learn about the grape growing and wine making practices of this region. In addition to enjoying wonderful wine and gorgeous scenery, we also achieved that goal. Our guide, Maurizio was charming and my husband and I enjoyed chatting with him in the car. He is an excellent driver and not too aggressive which was nice given the narrow roads. I believe he chose the wineries. If so, he did a good job because it was a nice mix of less and more commercial and more and less sustainable/biodynamic. All were interesting and enjoyable in their own way. Overall it was a fantastic day and something not to be missed if you are in the Etna region and enjoy wine. I couldn't imagine a better guide that Maurizio. His command of English was very strong which was good because sadly we do not speak Italian. We highly recommend this experience.
