Amazing tour with Kenji

We had Kenji as our guide who was beyond fantastic. It was my wife and I and our seven year old son. Kenji taught us a lot about Japanese culture and society. He was amazing with my son, he made my sons whole trip. We started at Asakusa which was beautiful and then Kenji took us to a great little sushi place and told us all about sushi as he is a sushi chef. Afterwards we went Ueno Park for a walk around a temple and great parklands. Then we went to Akihabara where we played old school arcade games with Kenji. Could not recommend the tour and especially Kenji more higherly.

Tomi was great!! He was very polite, knowledgeable and attentive. You can tell he’s very passionate about his work. It was a good tour! We didn’t get to fully see Mt Fuji but that’s the weathers fault not the tour’s. However Tomi was always excited to point out any view of The Fuji! I would recommend!

Wonderful day trip in Kyoto with Ryuken

Ryuken was an amazing local guide. He took us to all the hot spots in Kyoto. He is a fabulous young man with gold etiquette and a great sense of humor. We got to hear his perspective on the Japanese culture and lots of inside information we could not have known if we didn't take the tour. He tailored the whole day trip to our taste and eating preferences. Overall, a very wonderful experience!

Firas was such an excellent tour guide. I had already been in Tokyo for a couple days, and so he suggested a day trip to Enoshima and Kamakura. I was hesitant at first, but he promised me that I would love it, and I did! He has a great energy and enthusiasm for the land, culture and history. It was such a fun and meaningful experience. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would.

This was a great tour. Our guide. Elina, was very good. We liked being shown how to use the train system. HOWEVER, after two train rides, it became apparent how much walking and time using the train was taking. It's a lot of walking just to get to the right exit and change lines. So we switched to taking metered cabs to cut the walking effort and time so we were able to get two more stops done. We were paying a crazy amount of money for the guide to be there, so it just didn't make sense to use the train to save a few dollars. We were sent a questionnaire to fill out in advance to determine our interests and the suggested itinerary was spot on. Our 7 year old loved the visit to the Pokémon store I requested. We had to pay for everything. Including admission for our guide into all attractions which we found odd. Guides generally enter free pretty much everywhere we go in the world because they are obviously bringing constant business. I suspect a license of some sort was missing. We are totally sold on private tours. The flexibility to move at our own pace and choice of activities is invaluable. This was our second visit to Tokyo, so going custom meant we wasted no time duplicating what we had done before, or duplicating where we were going later anyway. For example, a tour that stopped at Harajuku would have been a waste because we went there anyway for the Owl and pig cafés later. You don't need a guide for obvious attractions like Skytree for example, it's hard to mess that up on your own. I think in the future we will avoid full day walking tours. It's just too tiring for us. If you are fit, go for it We just found the day insanely expensive for a walking tour with nothing included, but that's an observation, not a complaint, because we knew the price upfront. As a comparison, we had a private driver with a BMW for 11 hours in Taiwan for close to half the price of this tour during this vacation! We were very grateful for the help Elina gave us booking other activities for later and the advice given when I asked by email later. She definitely went beyond the scope of the tour to be helpful.

Kanei was a wonderful tour guide and put together a great itinerary for us. Kanei is new at being a guide and had to rely on what was essentially Wiki and Google searches for the more detailed history of the areas we visited (had to look up answers to most of my questions). I'm sure Kanei will improve with more time and research. Other than that, we had great time and I would recommend to others.

We traveled to Tokyo with family. Our guide for this tour was Mari. She is absolutely fantastic. She is a local and had great insight knowledge about all attractions. She also had guidance for our future tours. She helped us with insights on local food and restaurants. We never felt rushed, she is fun to be with. I'd strongly recommend Mari to anyone who is looking for a tour in Tokyo.

Lovely Tokyo Tour with Patrick!

Patrick took us through Yanaka Cemetery, UENO Park, Sensoji Temple and everything around these areas. It was a wonderful tour as he explained us about the history, culture and even architecture of all these places. Got to understand Japan properly at the start of our trip and this accustomed us quite well to the Japanese way of life and made it easier to get around. Patrick even told us about the shopping and food stores, districts and streets. Like Kappabashi for kitchenware, Itoya for stationery, Mitsukoshi for food, etc.

We were able to see a lot and really enjoyed our time. This was our first time in Tokyo, and it was great seeing different areas of the city. I would have given 5 stars, except our guide - who was incredibly nice and thoughtful - did not speak English very well so that really took away from the experience. I would have loved to have learned more, but conversations just weren’t very possible.
