Amazing experience
Kim_B, Sept 2023
Our guide Kei was amazing and shared many insights and stories during the tour. Our sushi chef was also amazing. This was one of our favorite adventures during our trip to Japan.
Sushi taste even better when you made it!

Naoko was very friendly and nice to show us around the fish market and the sushi making class was nice too! I would love to see if the trip organizer can combine the tuna auction with the fish market visit plus the sushi making experience. Sushi making class was easy and good for kids too!
Fun experience but you don’t really learn how to make sushi
Genie_B, Aug 2023
I have mixed feeling here. On one side, I had fun and enjoyed the experience. The tour helped point out things in the market I would have missed. The lunch was plentiful and delicious. However, we didn’t actually learn how to make sushi. We learned how to put together a bunch of already prepared ingredients and roll them together. Not the same! I thought we would learn how to make the rice, how to choose the right kinds of fish, how to cut/prepare the fish… we didn’t do any of that! So it was fun but I’m no more equipped to make sushi at home than I was before.
Great well rounded experience!

We enjoyed the tour and sushi making! Our guide Kei was very knowledgeable about foods, spoke perfect English, and planned the walk with our needs in mind (had an ATM stop and a bathroom stop build into the walk). Chef from Yachyo sushi was a kind and patient teacher. And the company accommodated my son’s allergies quite nicely and seamlessly - much appreciated! Thank you!
Good tour

Good tour of the outer market, very much enjoyed the sushi making class. Dress cool & bring a hat, it’s sweltering hot.
Fun way to experience a taste of Japanese culture

Fun touring and tasting through the fish market. Great to try some things we would never have tried on our own. The sushi class is very basic, but was fun and delicious.
WORTH IT!!

I learned so much and have grown such a deeper appreciation for sushi after this class. The instructor was filled with so much knowledge, the food was sooo good and I overall had the best time ever!
Fun Day at the Fish Market
sharon_s, June 2023
This was such a fun tour, it was our second day in Tokyo and we went to meet Kei and the other group members. We then headed off to the fish market and its such an expansive place. We got to try different items and learned all about how to prepare the dishes and what spices they use. We then took a short train ride to a really cool restaurant where we made our own Sushi with a Sushi chef. We then ate our masterpieces. This is a great tour for anyone to enjoy
Fun in the market
Sabrina_M, June 2023
We thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Navigating the market on your own would be a real challenge. Kei, our tour guide, took us to a variety of stalls to they the full experience of what was there. It was unexpected that we would be getting samples and the opportunity to try some different things, of which you did pay for. I would highly recommend this tour so you get a real flavor of this extensive market. We even bought a Japanese knife at one of the stalls.
Productive, educational, and informative tour
Maxwell_H, June 2023
Our guide, Ume, showed us highlights of Tsujiki Fish Market. So much to see and miss if you don’t know what’s good or how to ask to try products. After a thorough tour of the market, we traveled to a sushi restaurant to learn the basics of nigiri and maki sushi making. Simple steps broken down and prepared for success made the class fun, tasty, and left you wanting to try again at home.

Sushi making was fun. We learned how to present nigiri and sushi roll. I wish there was more time to explore the market.
Superior!!!

This tour and our guide Jimmy-San was such a amazing experience, exploring the inner/outer fish markets was the best, especially making the sushi. Our guide even dedicated time to make sure we got the correct train back home.
Wonderful way to experience Tsukiji and learn the basics of sushi making
Elton_L, June 2023
This is a lovely half-day experience to see Tsukiji Fish Market and have a brief class on sushi making -- would definitely recommend this if you're interested! Our tour guide Kei was phenomenal in guiding us around the market and translating for us. She's fluently bilingual in both English and Japanese, which made the entire experience absolutely seamless. Kei was enthusiastic about answering all of our questions and just a treat to have guiding us. The first half was spent walking through the market itself and stopping by some specific vendors which were representative of the wares often sold. Kei helped facilitate any samples we wanted, and we were able to easily buy whatever we wanted (bring cash!). After a well-facilitated subway trip to Shinjuku, we sat through an involved lesson where an enthusiastic sushi chef taught us how to make nigiri and maki rolls. Regardless the quality of the sushi you put together, the ingredients make sure it's at least tasty! This trip is just what you sign up for, and it's a lovely time. Absolutely worth it!
It was raining Cats & Dogs and Worth it
Christina_R, June 2023
Tak was an excellent guide. We enjoyed the walking and trying everything in sight. He showed us his personal favorite foods which we would have never tried (dried cod with lemon) surpringsingly delish and took three bags Home. We loved the sushi making and he helped us buy Pasmo passes for later in our trip. Highly recommend and it was raining!
Tsukiji Fish Market and Learn How to Make Sushi
PETER_B, June 2023
We did this on our first full day in Tokyo. Walking thru the new retail fish market is a wonderful way to start one’s Tokyo experience; and walking thru with a knowledgeable guide is even better. Our guide Tak was great. Not only was he friendly and informative; he also found the shops with the best free samples And then of course what made this really special, learning how to make sushi from a pro.
The Tokyo food scene is not for the faint of heart

We had an amazing time. Our tour guide was great. She gave us a great history of different parts of Tokyo culture, religion, and food. Sushi making was fun. We would do it again and highly recommend.
Amazing way to understand Japanese cuisine and taste some interesting new foods.
Jennie_O, May 2023
I did this tour on my second day in Japan and it was a great foundation for the rest of my trip as I got insights into all the different foods. It was so much fun to do with a group. We took a train trip to the sushi making place after the market tour. This was great fun. It is more about assembling and presenting sushi, which was perfect for me. The passion and enthusiasm of the tour guide and chefs was really appreciated.
Loved this tour
Michael_P, May 2023
Great experience and wonderful guide. The market was packed and her knowledge of where to go and what to try was perfect. The sushi class topped off a fantastic tour.
