Putu’s cooking class was truly the highlight of our trip. We started off with a very informative cultural lesson. Then, we took a tour of her family farm and learned about the ingredients we used for the meal. Throughout the process Putu offered cooking techniques and personal anecdotes that added to the experience. At the end we enjoyed our delicious, homemade meal. Easily one of the best meals we’ve had during our stay in Bali. Would highly recommend this class to anyone visiting Bali!

The best experience you’ll do in Bali!

What an amazing experience. Putu is a wonderful teacher, we had the best time. Almost everything we cooked Putu had grown in her compound. It was delicious, can’t wait to try the recipes at home.
Not to be missed

One of the best things we’ve done on our trip. Putu and her family were the most amazing hosts and teachers. They even bright out a beautiful cake for my fiancés birthday and offered us some fresh (fallen that morning) Durrian to try as my partner had been wanting to taste it while we are here. The cooking class itself was fantastic, run so professionally and smoothly with clear explanations and tips throughout. The way She and her family work around the kicthen preparing the next stage as you go makes the whole experience feel so effortless. Putu’s son was also kind enough to make my partner some Sambal Matah after he mentioned enjoying it at other meals we have had. Putu then sent us all the recipes we had cooked so we can recreate at home. We took our leftovers back and our hotel were kind enough to store and reheat the rest and all commented on how good it looked and smelt ! Delicious food, amazing teaching, wonderful hosts and so much fun Thank you Putu!

What a great experience to be able to cook traditional balinese food in a Balinese home. Everyone enjoyed the experience even our husbands 😃

I had the best time at this cooking class with Putu + family! Thank you for welcoming me into your lovely home, Putu gave an amazing mini history lesson on the dynamics and traditions of Balinese culture throughout her home tour before we started cooking. The meals were delicious and very hands-on with Putus explanation throughout the whole process. Be sure to go with an empty stomach, so much great food to enjoy! I will be back for another lesson next time I am in Ubud. Suksma 🤍
Wonderful peak in to life in Bali

An amazing experience. Our host was wonderful. From pick-up to the end of dinner her hospitality was gracious and friendly. We cooked several classic Bali dishes with her expert guidance and have the recipes to bring home. Wonderful insight into Bali food and lifestyles.
Best Balinese cooking class in Ubud

I’m so glad that I was able to find this cooking class, well worth the price! I went with my girlfriend and we were amazed on how traditional everything was. We cooked a five course meal and even had beer at the end. At the beginning we learned about the temples, we had coconut water (first time having it) and we tried 2 fruits. The one with the snake skin that looked like garlic was my favorite. Putu was a very nice lady and was very engaging and patient. Her husband was on the grill helping me cook up the chicken. Thought that was funny because all men in the U.S like to grill too haha. Her daughter was a big help as well. All very kind and sweet people. The food was very very very flavorful. I would suggest this class for anyone visiting Bali. She will not disappoint you. We did this cooking class the second day on our trip and I must say it was the highlight of the day.
Beautiful evening.

We are very curious and love to learn about other cultures and traditions different from ours. Cooking with Putu allows you to truly live the real experience of cooking in a traditional Balinese home. We asked many questions, and she happily answered and taught us so much! Amazing food and a beautiful evening to remember!
Out of this world experience. A must go!

Putu was an amazing instructor. The whole experience was so special, it’s worth every cent we paid. I would want to attend other cooking class after attending Putu’s session. She was patient, especially to our 9 year old daughter. The meal we prepared was the best we had in Bali. Will definitely come back. It’s a pity too many people are not giving Putu’s class a second thought due to its price.
A experience not to be missed

A wonderful cooking experience with Putu. Putu and her family were incredibly friendly and welcoming of us into their family home. We learned a lot about traditional Balinese cooking and Putu made sure we were involved in all the “hands on” cooking!!! The food tasted amazing - I would highly recommend this to anyone that wants to try a cooking class. Thank you Putu and your family x
Absolutely a must-do experience in Bali

Putu and her family are incredible hosts. You will learn about cooking; Balinese culture and family life and get a very authentic and deep insight into rural Balinese living. Putu was warm from the moment we met her; she is so welcoming and a great teacher. The food you lean to cook is absolutely delicious. This is the one tour I would recommend above all others in Bali.
Amazing Experience and Dinner
Andrea_V, Aug 2022
Puta was such a kind host. She gave us insight into her culture and was very open to any questions she had. She gave us a tour of her compound and an idea of what her day to day life would be. The setup and instructions to cook the dinner was easy and she provided us the recipe for later when we wanted to try on our own. The food was fresh and dinner was great! They provided transportation to and from the hotel which made things easy well. I definitely recommend this experience!
Life time experience for food lovers

Cooking experience with our beautiful host Putu was one of the best in Bali. Not only see guide us through the amazing Balinese tastes but also through Balinese culture and tradition. All products where fresh , most of them straight from her garden and everything really clean and neat. It was a lifetime experience & would definitely recommend it . PS. We also got the recipes after the workshop !!
Fantastic cultural experience!
Lori_M, July 2022
We had a wonderful night cooking with Putu in her home. Not only did we learn about traditional Balinese food, we learned about her family’s religion and Balinese culture. We’d highly recommend this to anyone visiting Ubud! Putu and her husband picked us up from our hotel in Ubud and we drove about 20mins to their home. They were extremely welcoming and spoke great English. Our family of four had a private cooking lesson and we made five traditional Balinese dishes, followed by a huge dinner and local beers.
SO good!

Putu welcomed us into her home and it was absolutely one of the highlights of our trip to Bali! She is warm, a lot of fun, and will teach you how to cook a traditional feast. Maybe it's because we worked so hard making it, but this was the best meal we ate in Bali.
Highlight in Ubud
Kelsey_K, July 2022
We loved our time with our host. We loved talking to her and she graciously opened up her home. We truly felt like part of the family and the meal was one of our favorites in Indonesia!
Amazing authentic experience
Conal_H, July 2022
Amazing experience, Putu and her husband collected us from Ubud centre, she messaged us on WhatsApp a short while before our activity to let us know where we needed to be collected. I've done many cooking classes in South East Asia and nothing compares to this authentic experience. Putu brought us to her home where she spoke of Balinese culture for a short while and their way of life which was amazing to hear. We we're made feel at home with some coconut water and crackers. We then progressed to cook 5 seperate Balinese dishes under Putu and her aunties guidance who couldn't have been more helpful. Most importantly the finished product was amazing, we sat together and told stories and got to know each other a little better. I couldn't recommend highly enough. Conal and Stacey.
Best day in Bali!
Hayden_A, July 2022
We did this with another couple and we all agreed that this was the best thing we did during our 9 day trip in Bali. We were picked up from our resort and taken into a local village which was an amazing experience to start with. At first we just sat around a table with Putu to try some local tea and biscuits, there was no time stress at all that you usually get on larger tours. When we were all ready it was time to get cooking and we all worked together to have the best meal we had for the entire trip. We made a huge effort to eat as much Indonesian food during the trip but this meal was a whole other level of good food! Putu and her family were amazing explained everything to us about how we make the food and the local culture. I would recommend this to anybody who has an interest in food (everyone). We looked at other cooking classes we could do in the city but are glad we got the extra experience to go to a local village and cook with a real family. Following the tour we got a transfer to another resort in a different area and we're all too full to think about dinner. It was a great day and we were all very satisfied!
Amazing experience! Well...
