What To Expect

Meet your guide at your Washington, DC hotel to start the 3-hour morning monument tour. Learn about the history of Washington, DC on your air-conditioned motor coach while passing 30 of DC’s top sites, then stretch your legs at 12 of them with plenty of time to explore.

Walk around the United States Capitol and the stunning memorial to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and learn about two iconic American wars at the Korean War Veterans Memorial and the World War II Memorial. Visit the Lincoln Memorial, White House and the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial, then read the names at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial and the Vietnam Women’s Memorial.

That is a picture of me standing a the back gate of the White House. The tour showed me things I had only heard about. His knowledge of the buildings and statues educated me on some of the history that I didn’t know. I loved the tour and would do it again.

Sally, the tour guide, didn’t see me coming on the bus and didn’t hear me call my number. Others did. The bus driver saw me getting on the bus. She then proceeds to scold me like a child in front of everyone. I was completely humiliated and embarrassed. She later apologized. What a trumatizing way to start the tour.

Left at the FIRST stop with no refund

I am extremely dissatisfied with the tour company and Viator. The operator started the tour late, we were left at the first stop and given no refund for the service not received. To start In the email received from the tour company it states you must arrive 15 minutes early, continuing with if you arrive later you will miss your bus. So my wife and I arrived within the 15 minute early timeframe to avoid any issues. However, our operator left 20 minutes late waiting for other passengers that didn’t arrive before the scheduled departure time (which we were glad they were able to still enjoy the tour). He then took an unscheduled stop to let someone off the tour bus. As a “service” to us for the late departure, stop and traffic he brought us to a monument that wasn’t on the original 10+ stops. We were given a 20 minute timeframe to tour the monument and return to the bus. My wife and I returned within the timeframe and our bus left as we were walking up to it! As there was another monmument bus there he stated if my wife and I hurry to the next stop we could catch the bus and re-board. We then ran to the next stop to find our bus nowhere in sight. I called the tour company that day and they took my case under review. They then concluded I would not be offered a refund because it states on our tickets the bus could not wait on any stop because of no parking. Furthermore that we didn’t come back on time when we literally watched our bus leave. My wife and I walked 7 miles back to our hotel.. How is it acceptable to offer this level of service and not supply the customer with a refund. This was during our anniversary no less and I can say that Monument tour and Viator left a sour taste on our entire experience. If your booking here i recommend you look elsewhere to avoid the hassle.

The day before our tour we had no idea where we were supposed to meet the bus. As a type 1 diabetic and on an insulin pump it was extremely frustrating. Only by chance, I was awake at 11:30 pm, and saw a text from the company as to where we were to meet the bus. Seeing many of the most historical monuments was extremely memorable to me.

A little late

We got lost looking for the bus so we were not in the meeting place at exactly the said meeting time but we were able to find the bus before it left but we were not allowed to board the bus. We were told to wait for the evening trip which really sucked.
