Best Way to See Mt. Vernon
Heather_H, Aug 2023
Our driver Dion was awesome! He called us to let us know he was minutes from picking us up. (Later, I got a call from USA Guided Tours to make sure I had gotten picked up.) Then, the bus was gorgeous! It was air conditioned, had leather seats, and plugs for your phone. Dion narrated our entire ride to and from Mt. Vernon. He gave us so much history! He was super clear as he guided us through Mt. Vernon and gave us even more history. I can’t imagine seeing Mt. Vernon a better way!
Better than you expect
Norma_P, Aug 2023
The guide was very knowledgeable. We learned so much and were entertained the whole time. He did an excellent job. We have been on hundreds of tours and this is one of the best by far.
The ride on the bus was the high point of this excursion
Denise_R, July 2023
Seeing the inside of the mansion was difficult because so many people were in each group you couldn’t move around. The grounds were okay but not much to see. Overpriced for what you get. Our guide on the bus was very knowledgeable
Family Trip to Mt. Vernon
Kary_D, July 2023
Very good comments by our guide around the grounds of Mt. Vernon. Ticket to the house is included in the tour so it's a good way to see the home of George Washington.
No air conditioning on bus
Casey_C, July 2023
The air conditioning was not working on the bus and in the 90+ degree weather it was miserable. The tour guide was great but it was so uncomfortable for the price.
Response from Host, July 2023
We apologize that you were uncomfortable during the tour. Can you please give us a call to provide some additional information regarding your tour, so we can check to see if the air conditioning on the bus is working properly. You can contact us at 202-733-7376 or at reservations@usaguidedtours.com
Great tour
Nancy_R, June 2023
Our tour guide, Brittany, did a wonderful job covering the historic facts of Mt Vernon. She was able to answer all questions asked by our group. She was enthusiastic as she presented the history and made the tour fun.
Response from Host, June 2023
Thanks so much for the feedback regarding Brittany. We will be sure to make sure she is recognized by our senior staff and peers.
Mount Vernon was amazing...
Corona_C, May 2023
Mount Vernon was amazing however the trip advertised 2 hours in Alexandria and all we had was 20mins driving around on the bus so that was disappointing. Christopher our guide was amazing, so full of knowledge and willing to answer questions readily.
Response from Host, June 2023
I'm sorry to hear that. Thank you for the feedback. We will most certainly review the itinerary.
Coach tour to Mount Vernon
JuliaG, Apr 2023
Tour from Washington DC out to Mount Vernon via Alexandria. This was a coach tour. There was no briefing given as to the plan for the day although the guide introduced himself. We first drove around Alexandria with various sights pointed out. The coach had pink cherry blossom wrap around it so all the windows (except the windscreen) were obscured so it made viewing difficult and that part of the tour a bit pointless to be honest. We then arrived at Mount Vernon which is a lovely place to visit. We were guided around the grounds and then the Mt Vernon staff guide you through the house. At times the ground tour felt a bit rushed and we were very much herded and rounded up with a roll call every so often. Felt a bit like being in a school party! The house was really interesting and the grounds lovely - am amazing view of the river. The tour was expensive for what it was. Mount Vernon is not so far from Washington and with hindsight we should have looked at making our own way there for the day.
Response from Host, May 2023
Thanks for the feedback. We will look into revising the itinerary so it is more favorable in the future.
Great for first time visitor
Dale_J, Apr 2023
My family and I loved this tour. The guide and driver were friendly, fun, professional and had lots of interesting information to share. We were so excited to visit Mount Vernon and walk the beautiful grounds.
Brittany & Maurice for the win!
Amy_F, Apr 2023
Brittany (tour guide) and Maurice (bus driver) made the experience fun, informative and safe. We had a great time and were glad that we had time to eat at the restaurant in Mt. Vernon. Delish!
Washington's tomb. ...
Peggy_J, Mar 2023
Washington's tomb. The hike down and up was very hard on our group of senior ladies. Carts to ferry us would have been nice.
Leslie_E, Mar 2023
Great tour. Terry was our guide. She was very knowledgeable and went out of her way to accommodate those in her tour.
My Vernon is worth seeing
Claude_P, Mar 2023
The tour guide was good. It felt a bit rushed. I would spend more time at Mt Vernon and skip a stop. The bus ride was horrible. The driver was fine - the road threw us around. Did the bus not have any shocks, or were the roads really that bad?
Beautiful time at mount Vernon
Craig_J, Mar 2023
