American history brought to life by our guide - some of the untold bits. I discovered a half smoke too and that was yummy from Ben's chilli bowl. The street art was fascinating too.

Sonique's tour was amazing, she was so bubbly and friendly, put us all at ease straight away! There were lots of food choices and we enjoyed every one! She is a natural story teller and it made the history of the area really come to life! It is also a tour group that gives back to the local community which is commendable! I would highly recommend!

Our Guide was informative and friendly. The sights were interesting and the food was very good! Easy walk. Given we were such a small group our nly suggestion would be to ask people about any food aversions. Not just allergies. My husband and son did not like certain toppings on certain foods and weren’t able to enjoy the first location as much do to this. If we would have been asked, we could have said just serve the item plain and would still have been able to enjoy all stops.

We took this tour on whim and was absolutely worth every penny. Our guide was amazing. The food we ate was varied and delicious. The history of the area was fascinating and she told it all in a detailed and animated way. 10/10 would highly recommend.

This was an awesome experience. Our guide was funny, vivacious and full of local information about the area and the families who lived here. The food was delicious and plentiful. There were fewer stops than most food tours but the food was abundant and more than enough. This gave us the opportunity to learn more about the area without having to rush to the next place. This is not just a food tour it is history art and architecture as well.

We had a lovely time with Soneka on Saturday on U Street learning about the area's history and tasting food along the way. Soneka seamlessly met my food intolerances at each location and was a delight to listen to. She told great stories and related the history to the food we were tasting. We tasted Ben's Chili Bowl, Dukem Ethiopian food, Colada Shop pastry, and a scoop of ice cream at Ice Cream Jubilee. I enjoyed everything though the the Ethiopian shared platter wasn't really my thing. I'd recommend doing a food tour again even in your hometown to learn a little more about the area and taste food at places you might not try otherwise. I also appreciate that Blue Fern also gives back to the community. Would recommend this experience for sure!
