More Pirate than Ghost tour

We felt the tour was nicely done by our tour guide Lexi. She was very informative and interesting However…. There was man dressed as a pirate and he told pirate stories that were not really about Williamsburg. He talked 20 mins about Blackbeard in NC. He also sounded drunk the whole time. Lexi would have been great by herself!

Mr.Pirate is Samuel Odell he plays the part of a drunken Pirate. The reason why we talk about Blackbeard is the pirates on Blackbeard’s crew we’re tried here and hung and Samuel Odell ( Mr.Pirate )got off from being hung because he thought it was a party ship that he revealed at the end of the tour . The tour guides were wonderful. They did a fantastic job! I don't know how they kept up their energy for almost 2 hours. The only hard part for me was wishing there was a place to sit during the stops. My legs and feet hurt!

Ok-historical tour

This tour was okay. The guides were nice and excited to be there, but it was more acting out and less story telling. I’m a true crime buff, and was hoping it would be like one I went to in New Orleans that told details of real crime. There were some, but it was a lot of history and info about colonial period not necessarily details of true crime. There were lots of pictures shown of ghost sightings which my partner loved. Again, I it wasn’t bad, but if you love true crime stories this is not the tour. It is more of a family friendly tour that acts out some historical events/stories.

Lexie was an awesome guide. She spoke loudly and clearly, telling some great ghost stories and sharing some creepy pictures people have captured. We caught an old man staring out a window in one of our photos. Kids (ages 13 & 11) loved it!!!
