Elated and upset.

The Yorktown Revolutionary Museum was so educational. We really loved it. The Old Jamestown Settlement was worth the visit. However, after getting our tickets at Yorktown and the sticker to wear one lady at Jamestown Settlement was extremely rude and really awful and mean. She was an older ( kinda overweight) African American. I really wanted to tell her how she came across to us but we didn’t. People like her should not be working with the public. She gave me the same sticker to wear I was already wearing. Rudest person we came across in visiting the area. She spoiled our memories in this area for sure.
Stepping into history.

We really enjoyed speaking with the different Indians and settler's on the property. They were extremely knowledgeable and had a lot of really great information to share about how they lived during that time.
Jamestown Settlement - through the eyes of a British family
MARK_T, Aug 2022
Really great experience in Jamestown. We felt that the exhibition centre, fort, Powhatan village and harbour with reconstructed vessels really brought it all to life. We particularly appreciated the balanced representation across all communities - settlers, Native Americans and Angolans. The interwoven fabric of early 1600s Chesapeake life, encompassing the backgrounds, circumstances, diets, lifestyles, peace and conflict was exceptionally profiled. Thank you. A great way to end our US summer holiday.
Join the experience of what made our country so great

It was nice to step back in time and see how life was back 100s of years ago. The struggles that this country went through to make it so great. Wish lots of others come and join the experience.
Jamestown and Yorktown

The Jamestown settlement was great. Lots of good information. Yorktown has lots of different options. You need at least 2 hours at the museum with inside and outside exhibits.
Well worth time

The enthusiastic presentations done by staff. The knowledge shared was very interesting! Musket demo, Native American demo with bow/ arrow and making a canoe. Very interesting!

The black African history portions. We thought it was depicted with truths.
Loved the touch screen quiz with two players.

Settlement depiction of history was excellent. The outside attractions of the vessels, fort, and Indian village was very interesting to view and witness
The American Revolution Museum is excellent. Well worth seeing. It is well done. The outside attractions are well displayed with in-character presentation.
We are very glad we included both the settlement and museum in our trip. Very impressed.
Best experience our family has ever had!

This was a most extraordinary experience. Even my kids who moaned and groaned about going to a “museum” had the most amazing time. It really brought colonial America to life and is perfect for all ages. I definitely recommend and wish we could spend more than one day there.

My grandchildren need to visit next to experience and learn our true history. I learned many facts that I didn't know. Everything was clean and well kept up. Thank you.

A May Visit to Jamestown
Joy_C, May 2021
We loved walking through the cool beautiful paths through the Indian Village, boarding the ships, and visiting the Fort. The museum was awesome - so carefully laid out and directed - amazing stories.
Enjoyed our trip
Leah_F, Apr 2021
We went to Jamestown and Yorktown with the 7 day ticket. Both have excellent museums and experiences. We took our 12 year old daughter, and we were very satisfied with the quality and knowledge of the site demonstrations. The replica ship at Jamestown was very interesting too. Under Covid guidelines, we wore masks, and followed the route instructed and overall a very fun experience.
Worth a Visit.
Martha_C, Apr 2021
Seeing real life replicas of how the early settlers and Indians lived as well as the soldiers. Watching the videos gave much info and brought the early life and war life into perspective.
Limited

For what was open, due to Covid, we had an enjoyable visit. A number of interactive displays and walk through exhibits were unavailable. Will definitely be back in the future to see again.
